Ah thats very cool... When I 1st looked I thought it was the 1st Vado which is why I couldnt figure out what you said about having a cam in your lid with widescreen as thats only 4:3. I should have noticed really seeing as Im using a vado HD also :D very good camera.
For vid editing software I use many but I would recomend PowerDirector for encoding HD vids... very simple very quick :)
I pretty much keep the 4:3 aspect ratio for the SD Vado and the 16:9 ratio for the HD.
There is a trick I use with the Cybershot to make it appear to be HD by changing the aspect ratio with software. It only works well with camera files that use less compression than normal otherwise it just looks like bad SD in a 16 by 9 frame.
tenkas asked for a tutorial about how I do that so keep watch it should be up soon.
Right now I have just one Nolan helmet for vlogging. One camera is in the helmet and two extras are in the right and left pockets charged and ready to go. Sometimes for two camera work the Vado SD is mounted on the back rack facing behind recording other bikers following me.
Some of the rear facing shots are on the lauriejennifer channel on YT. Look at her first intro test video a few vids back.
which power director? I think you have to use only the lastest version..mine wouldn't recognize mpeg-2, and it was last years version...so now I use adobe premiere...which I recommend! :D
Ived used both 7 and 8 but quickly went back to 7 when I found 8 didnt have all of the masks i wanted... I could have still used the masks from 7 but would have had to make and convert them myself and i really couldnt be bothered to get them up to spec really.
When I reinstalled I had an issue with MP4 files but that was all down to a patch installed... had to totally hunt down and uninstall everything then it worked again. I do believe I have prem on here to but rarely use it :/
I usually enjoy the rides I take very much and me putting music to them helps me enjoy them again (Yes, I watch my own videos) I'll probably do a response video to mikaeli7's birthday vid and talk on that one.
I really don't like watching my own vids again unless it involves someone else riding with me or meet ups. It's kind of like....... if it's just me talking I heard it already. "rerun" LOL
Great tips here, Chuck. I am working on a cam set up for those of us that are without two wheels, a vlog of it coming soon. Plus, we like to see how long your turn signal indicator will stay blinking away before you notice it.
Great vid Chuck. I think it's cool that everyone has their own unique style. It would be dull if everyone went with edited vids. I do find myself editing my vids more and more these days though, probably because I put out a lot less than I used to.
I am still glad you are back Swipe, even if you choose to post at a slower pace.
You are actually one of the first good story tellers I followed on LV. Talking about your life, your job and things that happen to you day to day. I used some of your technique to help me make better vlogs.
What a coincidence, I got a foot cramp on my last ride on my rocket. I noticed that after an hour riding that I hadn't moved my left foot enough so now whenever i angled my foot different i'd get a cramp in the arch. It meant I couldn't put my foot down at stops. Was interesting through stop and go traffic once i got back in the city using on my right foot when i usually use both.
I wish we had a Dunkin Doughnuts.

I hear ya. My hometown of Kansas City doesn't have even one DD that I am aware of.
Business opportunity there for someone I think.

Sorry man Im sure you mentioned before what the cam is that you put in your lid but without looking I figured I would ask anyway :)
Looked like a Mino or Mino HD... maybe a Zi6?
Niffty little setup for walking shots... I never thought of taking a tripod with me when I do those kinds of things to help hold the camera...
Skazzious 2 years ago
No problem bro.
I don't mind if people ask questions.
It's a Vado HD very similar to the Mino HD. Just a bit less costly and I think very good quality.

Just figured I would throw that one in there haha

Well I probably added to the confusion there.
I do have the standard Vado also.
I use if for shots where there is a possibility of the camera getting damaged.
Better to destroy a 45 dollar standard Vado than a 150 dollar HD Vado or my Sony Cybershot.
suburbanryder 2 years ago
Thats a fair point. The vado really is cheap over there... Amazing how the conversion screws me over for electronics.
So when you use the vado do you just use your editing software to change the aspect ratio or?

Ahh looking forward to the tutorial... Would be good to see how you upscale your vids to how I used to upscale mine.
The vado is an awesome camera for vlogging though but the mic is a bit sensitive for my voice... distorts from time to time.
So you use all 3 cams in your lid? :) plenty of stuff to carry arround. Or does it depend on the helmet your using?

I know I will get kicked out of somewhere eventually. Just a matter of time.
You know I will film it and post it too. :-)

LOL. And after all that... you end up at Dunkin Donuts. Imagine that.
You live there, right? With all the coffee you get there, you could pay rent!

I think you can get away with not editing. Your vlogs are not all over the place.

Fantastic! Thanks for responding to the "editing" question.
I think it is cool to know the individual "styles" of folks when it comes to editing (or not). :^)

One time riding in the late fall my legs got so cold when I got to the stop sign at the off ramp I almost fell over because my legs were so stiff.
