I've been viewing this video for the last year.....always returning for more. When an artist pours this much emotion into a performance, you yourself can feel it in your soul. Adam is a soul touching artist, which is rare in today's music world. Actually, this is a superb piece of theatre and spectacular vocal. He is playing a role to the absolute hilt, as always, and the emotion he injects into that incredible performance is incredible. I think a lot of people really don't understand what Adam does with his music and his performances. Each one, every single performance he does is uniquely different to the others, even when its the same song, because he injects a different story into each one.

You know, I was kind of digging his version of Sam Cooke's classic... right up until he changed the lyrics of one of the most important songs ever to mention his eye glitter. @JamesD423 It's not literally about "the glitter" the glitter mention is symbolic - of living your life in hiding and not being able to express your true self. Boy really feels that pain so he interpeted this song in that context - that's where the emotion comes from. It's also why he dressed up OTT - costuming, emotion, vocal style, arrangement, all had a point he was making. The whole performance wouldn't make sense without that line.

Cont...I have never hystarically cried in happiness, or over a singer for that fact. But Adam is different--I am breaking down crying to the feeling this gives me!! And the fucking comments: the world is changing people into one FABULOUS, GLITTERY, GAY infested environment & you can do is DEAL b/c it is staying for the rest of your exsistance--It is CHANGING the way we view life!! The outfit is poetic & artistic, matching the lyrics perfectly, you don't have to agree, but at least understand!!!

ONE OF MY FAVORITE PERFORMANCES in the history of music!!!! You can FEEL the emotion, the passion, the meaning, the sincerity, and heart Adam is putting into it--he is making a huge statement and I barely am able to see him like this--everytime he gets on a stage, he presents hiself in a way I have NEVER seen before, in a way that makes you want to shout at the artistic part of the world to express themselves until the day they die and CHANGE (yes, change) the world!!! I'm not done yet

Actually, this is a superb piece of theatre and spectacular vocal. He is playing a role to the absolute hilt, as always, and the emotion he injects into that incredible performance is incredible. I think a lot of people really don't understand what Adam does with his music and his performances. Each one, every single performance he does is uniquely different to the others, even when its the same song, because he injects a different story into each one.

@edi5289 I'll be at 3 of the UK shows and I could only hope Adam would do this, my favorite perfromance of his, at one of those shows. You are so right it would be a full circle moment for Adam to sing this song at The Music Box......you've got me thinking ....I just may have to attend that show as well...just in case!! I view this video at least once a week.

Wouldn't this song just make the most perfect encore for him to sing this year at the end of his show at The Music Box? @Allotar - yes, Velvet Goldmine is his favorite movie and his older performances, especially his Zodiac Shows, reveal a lot of influences from the film.

Sam would also be proud that the gay/lesbian movement is also making strides as did the Civil Rights Movement of his time. Sam sang from his heart just like Adam.

I love this performance, even after seeing him in concert four times now, because he gives it his all, his emotions are soo tied up in what he is singing. I would love to see him really let loose like this on hiis GN tour. He has sung emotionally but hasnt held a candle to the throes he is in in this song. Come on Adam, let's see you let it all out!!

You or I, who come on here to watch this performance, would not have a problem with glitter around Adam's eyes, nor would Bowie's fans back in the day.......but I'm sure you could agree that there are plenty of people still out there today who have a BIG problem with it. As I said I'm one who certainly doesn't have a problem with it ......in fact the more glitter the better. My fave performance by Adam.

You know, I was kind of digging his version of Sam Cooke's classic... right up until he changed the lyrics of one of the most important songs ever to mention his eye glitter. Maybe, if he was the first singer to come on stage like this, I wouldn't mind it so much... but, really? Nobody else sees anything wrong with glitter around your eyes either, Adam, Bowie did it over 30 years ago. Just the way I feel.

@JamesD423 It's not literally about "the glitter" the glitter mention is symbolic - of living your life in hiding and not being able to express your true self. Boy really feels that pain so he interpeted this song in that context - that's where the emotion comes from. It's also why he dressed up OTT - costuming, emotion, vocal style, arrangement, all had a point he was making. The whole performance wouldn't make sense without that line.

I love all of Adam's performances, but this is my very favorite. It touches my soul and mesmerizes me everytime.....the costume belongs, it's an extention of the feeling of this performance. That being said ............ the man looks sexy as hell !!!
