There was a time when all "baseball" caps were flat-billed. A person had to curve the bill out themselves if that's what they wanted to do to the cardboard bill. I've only noticed the curved bill manufactured into the caps about 20 years ago. I guess people are into the bill being flat to start with again.

Epic topic, maybe its a UK thing and while we see flat peaks here, the majority go for round peaks cos, well you don't look as shop fresh. Me and all my mates will buy a cap with a flat peak and then over the next few days before we wear it, round it to our own specifications (noggin size). It may make me look old and shit but I simply don't ever pan on wearing a flat peak. :0( I'm an old man! lol

Honestly, my opinion - I think flat brimmed hats is absolutely fugly. I can't stand them and I don't give a flying fig if they are the current "cool" thing. I *love* the curved brim. Always have, always will (and the curved brims used to be the more expensive kind - how times have changed!).

Funny, I think the exact opposite for what you said about each style. To each his own, I guess. It just comes down to personal style choices. But for me, leaving the hat flat and with stickers on it makes the same sense as leaving the cardboard fillers and tags on a new shirt.

I'm not feeling the flat hats with stickers on them...different generation. At least it seems people are actually putting their head inside the hat rather than balancing it right on top of their head slightly to the side...that drove me nuts! You are totally right about the message the hat is supposed to represent. If you simply prefer the look of a flat bill that will cause people to assume a lot about the type of person you are. Fashion is funny like that.
