  • The collapse of all universal empires are from people trying to be God in their rebellious and stubborn pride!!!!

  • i always liked this plane

  • why is it people are remembering concorde more than the victims who died? THats really fucked up

  • @1982FMJ Stupid self centred greedy human error people in power led to the death of those people just as it did on 9-11.

  • @1982FMJ Not everybody is. You are making an ignorant preconceived presumption judging people instead of researching the facts.

  • The real shame is even if concorde was too expensive to operate commercially,at least a couple shou;ld have been maintained to fly at special events,it is also my view that concorde should have only been leased to an airline it is far too important to european aero history never to fly again,my feeling is the british government should have stepped and help to have saved a couple, but hte trade secretary at the time patricia hewitt fluffed the chance shame on her.and all concerned.

  • AMERICANS WERE HAPPY ABOUT THE END OF THE CONCORD ERA. JEALOUSY IS A MOTHER.

  • Bye Bye european masterpiece of engineering...

All thanks a the JUNK PIECES left by crappy american planes on a certain runway.

    Fuck american fucktardness

  • Concorde stopped flying due to it's cost to continue, not the crash. Remember that once upgraded etc, it took two the airways following the Paris accident. Quite simply the 'modern' Internet provides video conferencing etc and times are financially difficult, so there's not the need or justification for businessmen to use it! That's where the monies came from to keep it in service.. Additionally, Airbus had given notice to cease manufacturing the spares for her. Although designed in the 70's it

  • @markflack I agree, although do you think that it is a coincidence that it stopped flying all of a sudden..after the crash? Rather odd isnt it... They pulled it. No doubt about it. Bastards.

  • @markflack The crash had something to do with it. A lot of potential passengers didn't trust the plane anymore and it also increased the costs of general maintenance with the upgrades to the tanks and tires.

  • i don't get it, why would they stop such a revolutionary flight? it worked pretty fine for gods sake! there were only a few glitches just like there are in any machine!

  • @OHHYESSAHH probably because people would be too afraid to fly. Maybe risks of bankrupcy and the costs of running it were too much.

  • FOREVER.....

  • The "Save Concorde Group" are fighting for a Concorde to be restored by 2012 not just for the Olympics opening cerymone but to do this again on the queens dimond jubilee and for the best ever thing which is airshows for 2012 and onwards. Wouldn't that just be the greatest comeback ever! All they need to do is persuade BA to give them infomation about the plane and for Airbus to co-operate. Oh and theres money of course but I think the public would easily raise enough for Concorde!

  • @DanM012324

As much as I want Concorde to fly again it will never happen even if we (the public) raised enough money. Its flying certificate was removed ever since it was grounded and it is impossible to get another one. And also Airbus stopped making parts for Concorde... meaning it would be impossible to keep only one (or all) Concorde(s) maintained. One can only wish, and I do wish.

  • This plane had only ONE crash in it's life...!

The finest, safest and fastest passenger plane in the world..., is now gone to roost!

Why did it suddenly stop flying anymore?

    It deserves more than that...!

  • yeah, I agree, there have been far worse air crashes with other kinds of aircraft that are still in the air today and the fastest aircraft ever made has one fatal accident and suddenly everyone thinks that it should be scraped.

  • @Maverickf22flyer Probably would have cost too much to bring it into this day and age with everything constantly getting better... to be fair to the people who lost loved ones I think that one crash was enough...

  • I'm no expert but if I remember right wasn't it because it costs the same amount to redesign and improve an aircraft regardless of how many of them are flying? So it's worth paying tens of millions to keep upgrading and eliminating design faults from the 747 because there're thousands of them, it would have been financially bonkers to do the same for the few concordes in the air.

It's a shame but it was a commercial aircraft, profitability's a design feature too after all.

  • Its because concorde is less fuel efficient than a 747. In ideal conditions (mach 2 at 60,000 feet) concorde had the most efficient jet engines in the world but they were extremely inefficient at getting there.

  • the plane cost too much like the repair and the fuels but it's true it's safe but i still don't know why they took it away can't they just cut the cost or the fuel and repairs like using the metals what boeing and airbus use

  • @InfiniteSaviour49 i would not mind seeing everything british destroyed... i come from an erstwhile british colony and the pain inflicted on my people and the brutality with which the british plundered my country deserves a britich oblivion

  • @blueinkbottle Bloody hell, you have issues

  • It wasn't cost effective apparently. Richard Branson offered to take over but they refused...(assholes)

Slowly everything british is being destroyed

  • Branson's offer to take on the concorde fleet was just a publicity stunt. There was no infrastructure in place and Virgin couldnt possibly have operated the type for years at least. In any case I wouldnt want the finest passenger aircraft ever built flying for Virgin Atlantic. It belonged with BA.

  • @1madaboutguitar I really would not mind seeing everything detroyed... I come from an erstwhile british colony and the brutality with which the british plundered my country deserves a british oblivion

  • @blueinkbottle I appreciate your anger but your pain is not unique. What they have done to America and the rest of the world is self evidently horrifying. But speaking in terms of revenge is not wise and only playing into their hands. Its not 'Britain's' fault its the control system. But make no mistake, the control system is collapsing I but they want to launch WW3 so the future is uncertain. Either it goes one way and we live in a golden age were all fucked. But it had to come to a head

  • @1madaboutguitar We are collapsing in America just as the Roman Empire collapsed. I see it and I see the World Apocalypse also.

  • @BBQFanNo1 Thanks and a Happy new tear to you too :-)

Its OK, your right. Forget the apocalypse though, it will be far less painless then you think...

  • it only crashed because of an american plane and shitty maintenence men

  • the russians copyed the concorde, yes its called the tu-144

  • they didnt really copy concorde coz the tu144 was inb the airt before concorde

  • uh yes then the french copyd it then

  • it would take about the same time cos a plane isn't allowed to break the sound barrier over land (international law)

  • Quicker. Aircraft that fly that rouse would fly at anywhere from 0.75 to 0.82 Mach. Concorde would fly at Mach 0.98.

  • if it takes about an hour to get to edinburgh from heathrow in a normal jet how long did it take that thing

  • 9 Minutes

  • stupid fucking americans stopped us british from making these :(

  • why were they stopped?

  • coz american said they enrt economical... even thow they make millions of weapons they never use and coz like 3 of the crash so they were unsafe... =P

  • oh i see. too bad they were stopped... i loved them

  • Same and u coz get around the world like 3 times fast than a 747 :):P

  • let's arrange a day and make one without permission :P:P:P.... btw do you like beyblades? xDxD

  • er.... XD

I used to have on when i was like 10 year old =P but not any more :P

  • LOL! I am trying to buy the beystadium but nothing is going my way -.-

  • LOL XD

  • Ignorant fool. Only two airlines ordered Concorde. Why didn't BA buy more?

  • coz they costed sooooooooooo much.

to run and too buy one...

  • BA only ordered 5, but were forced the two remaining British ones by the government, although at a low cost. The same for AF also, only wanting 4, but were forced the remaining french ones.

No-one knew truly how the service would pan out, and were right to be conservative. BA did hit gold with it in the mid 80's to late 90's. In the early 90's they did look to restore pre production aircraft DG, but it proved too costly.

It is a very limited use aircraft, 8 would have been optimum for BA.

  • super machine

  • Comment removed

  • How can that be possible when they were still flying for British Airways in October 2003? Sort your facts out please.

  • yeah i saw it to on google

  • You saw it on Google? OH SO IT MUST BE RIGHT!

    Moron.

The last flight was on 26th Nov 2003.

  • youre right,it flew from france to baden airpark in southwest germany

  • i miss her

  • me too..

  • me three

  • I saw this Sky TV coverage on TV when I was working for Sky. You could hear the roar on takeoff. And then 20 seconds later you could hear the roar through the open reception doors as Sky is only 4 miles from Heathrow.

  • this was an awesome plane i mean it was like a window to the future and now its gone.

  • Comment removed

  • awesome aircraft.

  • i am American and i like British ppl and if u say u hate Americans u hate the world bc America as so many cultures and ppl

  • All thats stopping this fine piece of British engineering from flying is money, another creation made by man which rules us. To think we invented this in the 70's,makes me proud to be British,we have the best engineers in the world.

  • i don't get it, why the American hate? aren't most of the world airlines flying boeings?

  • this is nothing to do with 'frence cunts'. this is like me saying stupid america and their stupid ideas, and you'll jump right all over me to kill me to defend your beleifs but you can say whatever and do whatever. i hate ignorant people

  • zajebisty samolocik

  • Damn.. I saw this take off. I was in a hotel staying the night before I went to America, and my Grandad who is quite deaf, heard it and said 'thats Concorde'. It was a brilliant sight. I honestly don't know why they banned it.

  • .. they banned it because of te crash in paris.. i kno it doesn't make sense because it ould have happened to any airplane.. but also because of the expenses it cost

  • They didn't "ban" anything because of the crash.

Concorde's CoA was suspended in 2000, until the long-known structural deficiencies which contributed to the crash were addressed. Once the NZG tires, fortified wiring, and the Kevlar/Viton shieldings were installed, the CoA was returned and Concorde went back into service in 2001.

By then though, the market had radically shifted and AF decided to pull out. BA had no choice but to follow, as they could not afford Airbus' support costs alone.

  • Concorde had a huge design flay, in that the rear landing gear was in the wing rather than in the engine nacelles. An exploding tyre would damage the wing. Concorde had dozens of these incidents, its amazing only one crashed.

  • Wasn't room to put it in there.

Anyways, it was later proven that Concorde's design could indeed be fortified to withstand rubber impact... just that the aviation industry's typical "tombstone mentality" prevented that from being seriously endeavored until after graves were dug.

  • The banning of Concorde should never have happened.

  • It's a shame that France let this go to waste deliberately. I saw this fantastic machine quite a few times in the sky, taking off, landing, air shows etc and I was always amazed at it. I miss it even more now that it's gone forever. Thanks France, hope the west don't help you in the Third World War you cunts!

  • do you hate the British too? British Airways flew half of the Concordes.

  • danimal43026 - no I don't hate the British. They flew it well and managed to make a profit on it to cover the huge costs of running it. France didn't so they let it crash.

  • Actually, the French didn't pick up a small strip of metal left by a DC-10 off the runway. That's what caused the crash.

  • Actually, the French didn't pick up a small strip of metal left by a DC-10 off the runway. That's what caused the crash.

  • fuckin frence cunts, they have rouinded it for every body

  • hah, they didnt stop Concord just because of that crash. They were having huge financial problems and that was one of the last flights.

  • The American made DC-10 had parts falling off it because American planes do that.

  • Grow up.

  • I thought it was stupid that Concorde was banned and that beardy Branson didn't buy Concorde just when Concorde was coming to an end, but, even though it was astonishingly fast you have to remember how expensive it was to use and to run. It doesn't matter how fast it is in it's battle in the real world it was just too slow.

  • Branson did offer to by the Concorde fleet of BA..If i remember he offered a pound on live TV...BA refused..not because he only offered a pound but because BA did'nt want to see Branson make Concorde a financial success, which he would have done.

  • Dave46563 - You're not wrong, but let's face it, Branson and BA have constantly been at each other. To be more specific, BA have been doing things a little underhand and have been caught at it. They won't want Virgin to make an even bigger success than them at Concorde as BA did do quite well unlike the white flag waving, snail munching dirty french fuckers!

  • Yeah you're right about BA and Virgin..They are the biggest British air carriers..Why do you think Virgin aircraft have "Britains flag carrier" on them..Can you see the Union Jack on BA aircraft?

  • I honestly believe that from 00:06 to 00:12 is one of the most glorious visuals ive ever seen.

  • its both americas fault coz they got jealous of us coz we cud of made a profit and there new 747 wasnt as fast and the french eat garlic and thort oo lala they make my garlics shake i dont like it and eat some frogs legs

  • why virgin couldnt have em is beyond me. Heathrow still has it running around the British Airways end. dont know why one is still at heathrow. any clues

  • i was lucky enough to see concorde take off from heathrow. what an amazing site it was. well ahead of its time

  • Yeah me too. I was in a car at the petrol station at at the south west corner of the airport - just outside when Concorde went full power for take off. I was one hundred yards away and the ground shook and so did the damn car. It then roared off - worse than heavy thunder - fantastic, I like it, where can I buy? Not france please as they let them crash!

  • its easy to get something the size of a fighter through the sound barrier but to get an airliner the size of concorde through is an incredible feat of engineering

  • The french deliberately crashed one of their crappy Concordes because they wanted it out of service. They never updated theirs like BA did the English Concordes so they made a loss unlike the English. France stopped making spares so they had more time to sleep and chase royalty through Paris until they crash.

  • Your name sux!

  • yeah yours is fucking fantastic too cocksucker

  • your ridiculous

Sale bouffon !

  • Ok this sounds like a fucking dumb question but what is concorde?

  • Concorde was the 1sr (and so far only) supersonic jet airliner. It had a nasty accident in france whcih lead to a series of safety measurements which was to expensive so they brought them out of servie, BTW Great vide

  • ooohhhh i see, k thanks

  • The whole crash was orchestrated by the French as they didn't want to use Concorde anymore - they were too stupid to get it to make a profit so they decided to stop making spares then crash the fucker. They good at arranging crashes - they were involved with a crash in Paris 10 years ago in a tunnel !!!

  • It is the americans who killed the Concorde ! They were to jealous to the europeans ! Tu n'es qu'un pauvre con ! Tu es justement ce que les français n'aime pas ! Ton putain d'impérialisme de merde ! Ca vous mène à quoi sinon d'avoir une opinion très négative du reste de la planète ! Pauv' naze

  • The french wanted to stop manufacture of parts and then let one of their concordes crash in france - France wanted Concorde finished... America had no involvement whatsoever...

  • I think you've got a lot of problems in your mind ! just look at your name ! You should go to see a psycho ! You're a big looser !

  • GHprime - you only wrote that cos you're fucking french! I'm right about Concorde - the french even let Princess Diana be killed. They didn't take her to hospital until they were sure she was dead. Fuck France!!

  • fuck you "youfuckingtossers".

  • matLFRC - thanks for that you fucking french white flag waving cunt. You react in that way because you know it's true and you can't handle it. Fuck you too!

  • fucking retard you have no idea, you pretend you do though... let it go man it's been almost 8 years now

  • Floridax187 - thanks for your shit comment. We have no supersonic plane to travel on now and many people will always be thankful for white flag waving snail eating french cunts who are too fucking stupid to make their concorde a success, so I speak for many. Fuck the french useless cunts!

  • hahahahahahahahaha such a retard, I bet you're american... it's easy to blame it on france, what about all those other countries that were never even able to use the concorde are they useless cunts too?

  • floridax187 - thanks for another utterly useless shit commnet, they're getting worse each time you do one. All the other countries that were never able to use Concorde are not useless cunts. Do you need reminding it was only UK and France that had Concorde? Uk made it a success and a good British icon, whereas France completely fucked it up like they do everything else.

  • oh am sorry didn't realise you are dating the queen... salle fils de pute va niquer ta mère !

  • Vérifiez votre cul, je crois qu'il doit y avoir quelque chose de mis là!

  • Yes You Are Dumb very dumb !!!!

  • you are clearly a cock.

  • QF412 forgot to mention that France being the cunts they are, didn't make a profit on Concorde and wanted to get rid of it. They were to stop making parts too. In the end they had to get out of the contracts and the only way the white flag waving french could do it was have it deliberately crash and then grounded. Fuck the French - the spoil everything - I wish the west didn't save them twice in 2 world wars.

  • Let me guess; you are either still at school, or you're ESN (educationally sub-normal), unemployable, and live at home with your mother. What do others think?

    Vote now!

  • 421mog - WRONG! But you must have known that as your probably get everything wrong. Guess again, no point in voting - check George fucking Bush, he didn't get his job by being voted in and nor did supercunt Gordon Brown - no one voted him in did they!!

  • Hasn't spring come early this year? Listen, a cuckoo...

  • 421mog - you can have that for your sense of humour. It's ok to have a go at me if you're funny, I can take it. Got any more?

  • AF did not deliberately crash the Concorde you prat! Stop thinking you know everything.

  • dave46563 - thanks, well I gotta confess I don't know everything yet, but I'm getting there. I see you're a space shuttle man. That's good as it's pretty much the fastest manned craft. But please don't do a joint venture with France or you know what will happen when they get fed up!

  • I'm not doing a joint venture. I'm just saying you're last comment about AF deliberately crashing an aircraft full of passengers and crew was wrong. As much as you might hate the french dude, that was wrong..And I do know a lot about Concorde..My father used to work in BA Maintenance at Cardiff airport so I get most of my info from him.

  • it flies up so vertical eeek

  • I believe that statistically the Concorde was the safest civillian passenger aircraft flown, also Virgin offered £1 for each remaining "Speedbird" BA said "no", I am so dissapointed that I will never be able to fly in this 1450mph piece of Franco/British engineering masterpiece (for the record if SST was finally built I wouldn't piss on it!)

  • bring it back, dont bring it back, my ass is not getting on anything that flys thats fast-I will stay with the snails of the airline business.

  • Concorde wasn't obalished for safety-reasons, but rather becuase of the overdue noise-production, that made it unsuitable for use on airports close to populated area. Leaving only a few airports to fly on, and what would the fuel-bill look like for this one? Nevertheless....an awesome plane :)

  • The Concorde never flew to Edinburgh. Because I'm a air traffic controller in Edinburgh.

  • That's weird - Considering it's on the British Airways offical website...???

  • Concorde most certainly DID fly from London to Edinburgh.

  • Well, your completly wrong, Cant be very good at your job can you. Plus your only 25 and you live in Australia. So stop coming up with a bunch of lies

  • It is said on the news that the French are fixing 1 of their Concordes and trying to make it safer. They might be able to bring back Cocorde but they are looking for an airline that will be able to pay the millions needed to bring back Concorde.

  • Sorry but the Last Ever take off was the Concorde flight to Filton Bristol on November 23rd 2003

  • No need to be sorry, it may well be. However, offically on the British Airways website, it's this one?

  • good old BA, You'd think they'd know. OI suppose they were referring to a sceduled flight.

    Keith

  • A british plane mainly designed by former Avro Arrow engineers!

  • french and english plane 50-50

  • And used on takeoff to reduce takeoff length otherwise she would have ended up in the reservoirs!

  • Afterburners are only activated to achieve supersonic flight. Otherwise, they're just normal jet engines. In addition, because of the sonic boom involved with faster-than-sound travel, it can only legally do so out over the sea.

  • why do we british destroy our heritage. We resigned concorde to museums, though she is perfectly airworthy ... we scraped most of the routemasters.. we allow the longest pier in the world at southend to remain with a hole in the middle we allow brighton pier with years of history to just fall in the sea and i could go on. Its a very sad state of afdfairs

  • how very true a real shame

  • There is Afterburners. She couldn't fly without them.. You just can't here it very well on the Video!!

  • what!! no afterburners ! its a takeoff right how can it takeoff without afterburners please tell me please

  • Yup

  • A truely sad moment for the british
