You have to be 18 to "Pole Dance" and make make money at an adult nightclub and this was not at all what the 18 year old Dancers do. Been there seen that. As to what she was wearing she had on nothing more or less than the other girls in the background and around her were wearing. It was not even a skirt, which would have been revealing so she was conservative and just opted for shorts. I listened to her singing and liked her patriotic song and just enjoyed it all. It's ridiculous that people expect child artists to forever act like nuns...she isn't a child anymore. Britney was getting crap about her "image" when she was well past 18. Everyone has to grow up and be a teenager sometime and parents have to be parents and teach kids what's appropriate for young kids. Come on at 16 you are a sexual person to an extent, and you certainly know what sex is. There are some people in the media that are trying to pretend that you don't know what sex is or become a woman until you're 18, and its not so. Okay, so its not "pole dancing" and I understand that she needed the pole for balance, but what I dont understand is why she needed to straddle it. That's what everyone's fussing about. You have to be 18 to "Pole Dance" and make make money at an adult nightclub and this was not at all what the 18 year old Dancers do. Been there seen that. As to what she was wearing she had on nothing more or less than the other girls in the background and around her were wearing. It was not even a skirt, which would have been revealing so she was conservative and just opted for shorts. I listened to her singing and liked her patriotic song and just enjoyed it all. Really good show.

i personally loved this performance. her vocals sounded great and i enjoyed the song. so for all you miley bashers i just have to say that firstly she didnt come up with this dance, her choreographer did. and she didnt choose her outfit, her stylist did. also she didnt pole dance she was standing on top of an icecream cart and had to hold onto something otherwise she'd fall off and most ice cream carts have poles with umbrellas on top. she reason she couldnt have an umbrella was becuz of lights

what the hell is wrong with Miley!!! I mean, I don't really like her, I never really liked her, but this just tops it all off!!!!! Who's idea was the pole anyway?
