Firmware 4.05? I doubt it. Firmware updates are made for the sole purpose of preventing piracy. Devhook is considered to be a piracy tool for the PSP, even if it isnt used to run bootlegs. Truth is, I don't know for sure. But if Sony had any kind of brain whatsoever, the would prevent Devhook from running on their systems.

yep, just turn your PSP completely off (dont just flick it, that's sleep mode. hold the switch for 10 seconds.) and when you turn it back on it's 1.50 again. You only have to run through installation process once so once installed, all you gotta do is run DEVHOOK under your game column and there ya go!

I dunno why you're running devhook on cfw, it's pointless...I think it's screwing with you cause you're emulating a lower FW on a higher ver. CFW. just stay with CFW and you can do pretty much everything you want with devhook.

yea, all you do is shut the PSP off completely (not sleep mode) and when you turn it back on it's back to 1.50. after you install it once though, all you do is run DEVHOOK in your Games and you can switch right back to 3.01.

and I kind of get what you mean, like people who drive hot rods and muscle cars. obviously the new cars are better feature wise but its cool and interesting to interact with the past ;)

you need a folder named ISO in the root of your memory stick. you gotta make sure the games is fairly old too sense most recent games require 3.40 and above... I'm not sure but there already might be some games that require 3.90 and above as well

Hi, just fyi.

for those using the 3.90 m33-2, you need to install the 1.50 Version 2 Kernell for this to work.

I originally had a 1.50kernal set in the Recovery screen but could not get this to work.i am not sure if this is the "1.50 add on" tht bain is refering to.

Anyway after i installed the version 2 of 1.50 kernal it works fine now.

i had a 1.50 kernel (which i tink is the addon u mentioned, correct mi if im wrong plz) set in my CFW recovery menu but still could not get this to work.

After installing version 2 of 1.50 kernal for 3.90 M33-2, it works

So for those using 3.90 m33-2, get the ver2 1.50 kernel.

well, if your custom firmware is higher than 3.01, you don't really need devhook anymore...

but anyway, to play homebrew games, you download it first (obviously lol) you unzip it, and put the folder in your GAME folder in your PSP and that's it! :)

I doubt it works because DEVHOOK looks for specific files from 3.01 and installs them but then again, I can't say it's impossible cause I didn't try it my self. Nonethe less, you might just want to install a Custom Firmware. It's much easier and can do just as much without switching back and forth AND the hihest is up to 3.93 I believe.

wow, okay calm down. Custom Firm Ware is like DEVHOOK except you don't have to boot or turn it off and back and forth all the time. Yes you will lose the 1.50 Firmware but you can play Homebrew games just like any 1.50 PSP and Yes you're constantly on the latest Firmware and Yes you can browse the web. As for if you can play Homebrew games online or not, I'm gonna have to say hell of I know... Homebrew games are not made by one person. You'll have to see for your self.

DEVHOOK is indeed an emulator. But emulates SONY's official Firmware to play games that require a higher firmware thus you can turn it off later. Custom Firmware as the name implies, is a firmware modified by third party people. It basically functions as an official Firmware except a lot of the limitations such as playing ISO's and homebrew capabilities are unlocked. Homebrew can be played on any 1.50 PSP. DEVHOOK is to make the PSP think it has a higher firmware.

no once you have a CFW your previous FW shouldn't be a factor of any problems. The 1.5 kernel is applied to the GAME folder so make sure that's where you put the folders, not in GAME380 or GAME352 or folders with names along that line. If that still doesn't work, then I can't help but give suggestions. You can try Dark_Alex's Time machine which apparently lets you switch to older firmwares or... I still fail to see why you want DEVHOOK on a M33 PSP anyway...

if you use a mac, just plug your PSP in and turn it to USB mode. if you're using a windows, it'll show up in your My Computers as a new drive.

usually the PSP or most any creature can't find something that's not there. did you follow the instructions at 3:30? make sure it's the 3.01 update and make sure you rename it EBOOT.PBP
