I found the anime, both incarnations of it (original Clannad and After Story) to be very good. I particularly enjoyed the visual novel it was based on. Maybe because I had a little bit of a more sarcastic voice for Tomoya in my head.

Never have I hated and loved an anime at the same time in my life. Literally was scared to watch the rest of the anime after what happened with Nagisa and then to Ushio. I can safely tell you that you wont be disappointed to watch this anime, as long as you have time to watch it all the way through in one sitting. There's no other way to watch it.

@june0024 That's because, if you didn't know, both of these animes are based off of Visual Novels made by a company called Key. There is another anime based off of one their Visual Novels called Kanon that I would also recommend to you if you haven't already watched it. Just make sure to watch the newer version (Kanon 2006) because the animation looks much better and there are more episode.

@Kouroxful Nagisa and Ushio NEVER died... They "died" in the sense that it was just all Tomoya's dream and thought... Remember, by the last episode, he was waken up by Ushio's first cry... He thought it had happened only to be surprised Nagisa survived... And by the end, Ushio became a healthy girl [refereing to the "Passage of boys and girls" tradition of Japan wherein Ushio is wearing a kimono]

So yeah... It was just Okazaki's thought... All his fears came to a form of his dream...

@ForBraig Chigau... Tomoya thought the disease was like a curse to both Nagisa and Ushio wherein he said the changes in the town was related to Nagisa and Ushio's fate...

Ultimately, he said that the town itself is playing tricks on them quoting that it gives everyone happiness for a sheer moment just to take it away...

This anime thought us one simple yet very often forgotten logic...

Happiness comes and goes like a blink of an eye so better grab it while it's there...

Even though its just a tv show, this anime is amazing. I think it actually changed my life. My favorite animes are the more actiony ones, like Devil may cry. what I like about this song is it reminds me of the flashback Tomoya had in the episode Nagisa dies. I like how they added all these things you never saw in the anime, like Nagisa cutting his hair, or handing him a bar of soap while he was bathing and was all embarrassed. That was adorable. This song describes Nagisa very well. The first section of the song, it starts out with the lone, soft, quiet tone. This seems to resemble Nagisa's fragile appearance and physical state. But, it slowly becomes more lively. The steady beat we can hear in the background later in the song is the steady beat that keeps her going. It is the courage that holds her upright and keeps her smiling. Halfway into the song, we hear many sounds coming together. That is the family that Nagisa brought together.
