Kiwi fishermen are crazy! I was Kayaking in Marlborough Sounds, and in the middle of the night while I was sleeping, this muscle boat goes by to harvest the muscles, and they are blasting like techno dance music at full volume! I went down to the shore to have a look and they were legit having a mini rave on the boat! Long story short, I actually found the soundtrack to this video very fitting!

@gabgabgabster How can a displacement hull boat be underpowered honestly? Pretty much any engine will push it along at hull speed and a larger engine won't make it go any faster. The only way a boat would go faster would be to use a planing hull, but that would be impossible in conditions such as these. They are probably doing about 2 knots against a 6 knot tide.

A telephoto lens makes everything look worse, because the lens brings far and near in to focus at once and fools your brain into thinking the depth of field is a lot narrower than it really is. In other words it takes waves spread out over, say, 1,000 yards between the camera and the boats and squishes them all together so they all look like the boat is right in the middle of them.

These are fairly normal conditions - look at the guy on deck - does he look panicked?
