A good friend of mine use to have one of these, he ordered it with the third brake light which was an option for that year, everybody thought it was an 86' model but it was an 85'
I also admired the style and design of Lincoln Town Car, but on this 1985 version, they did some little changes to the front and back of the car which I did not like. I like the 1980's to 1984 version much better. I got still have such brochures too to appreciate.

I used one of these as sort of a taxicab here in New York City and I put 430,000 miles on it in ten years.
I had to change the transmission because the overdrive failed but oddly enough, the lower "street gears" still shifted very smoothly.
The one chronic problem I had with this car was the power steering box; I would think that by 1985 power steering would have been no big deal.
