I personally want to start using instrumental versions of songs as background music for my videos. People like you who only listen to the song for recreational purposes wouldn't really need the instrumentals.

Assuming these are the tracks from Guitar Hero, it helps to do some crude bit of pseudo-mastering on the mixed stems.

Check out the one I posted as a video response. Bit of EQ, tape saturation, a multiband (or one of the nice compressors I have for my UAD card) and a limiter. Just sparkles it up a bit if you know what you're doing.
