They say there was no character sprite of the red costume in the game, so there's no way for that glitch to make a perfect palette swap. This is just modern technolgy being used to alter Reptile's sprite... And persist a decade and a half old rumor.

Why do people argue when they dont know? Error Macro's happen on many arcade units and can be called many names. It only happend very rare when you found Reptile and when the fight begain it would "glitch". Reptile became red and under his lifebar that said scorpion was ERMAC. This was telling the user that there was an error as people never knew what it was they just thought there was two hidden fighters. Error Macro's happen all sorts of ways like missing floors,*colour*,ect ect its tech talk

The whole red glitched Reptile came from the fact that the orginal MK boards had a audit menu called "Ermacs" which was later changed in revision 3.0 to Reptile Battles leading fans to think Ermac was a glitched Reptile, the Scorpion one came from the myth that by over playing scorp in the Genesis MK 1 would cause a flash and error macro to appear and turn Scorpions outfit red. Which is false.

If you looked at the move set, it's really reptile. Reptile had both Sub's and Scorpion's moves (with no unique moves of his own at the time) So this modded-in Ermac is a palette swap of Reptile. Theoretically.

With the cheats you can use Retile anyway insted of Scorpion ans Reptile was the one that changed red on the glitch not Scorpion. On the Mk1 rev3.0 Error (ERror MACro) You didnt fight as "Ermac" it was Retile that would change ,when it done this under Reptiles name was *Ermac*. Then becouse everyone knew about the "secret ninja" Reptile people started to say it was another secret fighter. This was not true and the Mk team put a message at the end of Mk2. Finish Mk2 and work out what it says :)

Supposedly a glitch occured in the original arcade and it was called "ermac" short for "Error macro", and the ninja appeared red from the glitch. If he had both move sets that would be because Reptile had both move sets, and it might have been Reptile's shit in the glitch.

Not to mention his "over speed" (he moves like The Flash!!) Any M.K. fan, since the first one, knows it.
