The anchors are not aware that the images are on videotape. No one in the control room tells them that. So they mistakenly assume that they are looking at live images of the scene (unaware that it the images are actually 5 to 6 minutes old). Check it out for yourself. Go to the Internet Archive and search under "Moving Images" for Fox5 Sept. 11, 2001 4:51 pm - 5:33 pm (September 11, 2001). Check the clock times and do the math.

The anchors report that news to the audience. While the anchors are speaking, the control room re-racks and shows videotape of the collapse that they have just recorded off a live feed.

The way I remember it the media was informed by authorities that WTC 7 was going to collapse, how authorities (engineers, architects, technicians, fireman?) reached that conclusion I have no idea or knowledge to speculate.

Listen carefully, watch carefully, they are responding in realtime and at the beginning she assumes that it's already happened; the background is continuous; and then it falls as they comment on it falling. Note that BBC said it had fallen at 4:54 pm, 27 minutes early. BBC in the UK announced it at the same time. And so on.

In this video there's likely a time delay. They probably rushed to get a video feed on and didn't have time to seek to exactly before it fell, etc. Or that live camera was really delayed, who knows.

However, in the case of the BBC report, it's just absurdly strange. Also, supposedly neither Fox News nor the BBC still have footage from that day.

It's just weird. Not even getting into the physics of 2 floor fires collapsing a building so it drops in near-freefall.

Based on the times shown, your assessment is correct, as far as it goes. However, just because they reported the news at 5:26 does not mean it was received at that time. Elsewhere you will find that the BBC actually reported the collapse 23 minutes early. The reporter announcing the collapse was standing with her back to a window in which Building 7 was still standing, even as she reported it's collapse.
