God bless Lowell George and Little Feat, greatest rock and roll band ever. Santa Barbara County Bowl around '76 - Feat and Marshall Tucker Band - Bill Payne and the guitarist for M T both playin' pedal steel on Willin'. Chills like a motherfucker. Anybody got that one to put up?
This song brings back so many memories...This was one of our true party anthems in Dallas and La....Dallas Alice...I got to see Little Feat and Bonnie Raitt in Jackson Miss. before Lowell Passed...Pure greatness..".Laissez les bons temps rouler". CaCajun Out!!!
Orig. Little Feat Fan from the Vinyl Gardens of Love...Thank you for posting this...I last saw Little Feat, Lowel Georges last tour with band...Bonnie Raitt was the opener...We got an extra treat with Bonnie and lowell dueting and dual slides for around 30 minutes....great show, great band...Long Live the Music of Little Feat!!!
In 1973 and 1974 I lived in Austin. My boyfriend and I got tickets to see Van Morrison. Little Feat opened the show. Not before or since have I ever seen or heard better lyrics and music. The crowd tried to keep them on stage even after five encores. Finally Van came out and got the crowd calmed down and did his show. Of course, Van Morrison was incredible, too. What a memory. What a loss for us that we don't have Lowell George anymore.
I saw Bonnie Raitt and Little feat outdoors back in 76.For an encore,Little Feat came onstage with Bonnies band.It was one of the best concerts I ever saw.I've seen them since Lowell died and they wern't half as good.
it is the classic! That is why there is no Rock Hall The induction group ignores class bands but welcomed rap artists and boring bands like U2 Iggy Pop and The Cure Jackasses
@MrRcheek perhaps because it is 'out of sync' like soooo much on youtube. Such a shame. I wish tey could do something to sync up all the videos and soundtracks so it looks really so much better...I'm a drummer and it is so hard to watch a video that is a second in front or behind the music! Gotta love Little Feat to the max!
This guy was special, his music wasn't contrived or full of gimmickry it was straight from the soul, ahhh words just can't describe such beauty, just can't do it.
Supposedly George came to Zappa with this song and Zappa liked it but felt it wasn't a Zappa song and suggested he start his own band. And basically forced Lowell out.
@DBTdad I know, he was anti-hippy and anti-drug and a Conservative, go figure? I have to feel he did experiment with pot or LSD and it was unpleasant along with the unproductive elements associated with it. He wanted the music to come first and pretty much things done right whether it politics, society or how you conduct your life.
Haans, absolutely! Been performing that song for decades! Not sure if you'd notice the discussion below where some guy's insisting it's, "Wheat, white sand n wine..." Too funny!!
@craines175 He's right about the truckers using all that stuff. I don't anymore ( I been out here almost 40 years, but I have done my fair share and a couple other guys too) I could tell you stories that would make the hair stand up on your neck. Damn we had some good times.

Love this song. Reminds me of my LN2 transport driving days in the oilfields of Texas, New Mexico, Pennsylvania and West Virginia. Weed, whites and beer were my choices after I was off-duty. Went on to school and never looked back, except when I hear this song.
