  • @beinmyvideo LOL! Props.

  • Saw Feat do this in London 1975 and at The Picturedrome in Holmfirth 2010. Bill Payne still one of THE great rock n roll pianists

  • やっぱいいなぁ〜〜〜!!!!

  • @mixerkoyaman I couldn't agree with you more.

  • God bless Lowell George and Little Feat, greatest rock and roll band ever. Santa Barbara County Bowl around '76 - Feat and Marshall Tucker Band - Bill Payne and the guitarist for M T both playin' pedal steel on Willin'. Chills like a motherfucker. Anybody got that one to put up?

  • k-ool !

  • This song brings back so many memories...This was one of our true party anthems in Dallas and La....Dallas Alice...I got to see Little Feat and Bonnie Raitt in Jackson Miss. before Lowell Passed...Pure greatness..".Laissez les bons temps rouler". CaCajun Out!!!

  • This is for my trucking buddy Roger.....

  • because they are all f**** up in their heads.

maybe they had too many bogarts around.

  • one word! Brilliant!!

  • it doesn't get any better than this..rest in peace lowell..you are sorely missed, and will never be forgotten..

  • Lowell looks pretty high in this vid. Great songwriter who left this life way too soon.

  • 高校時代の思い出の曲。

    今でも聴くと胸があつくなる。

  • how I love Lowell

  • Orig. Little Feat Fan from the Vinyl Gardens of Love...Thank you for posting this...I last saw Little Feat, Lowel Georges last tour with band...Bonnie Raitt was the opener...We got an extra treat with Bonnie and lowell dueting and dual slides for around 30 minutes....great show, great band...Long Live the Music of Little Feat!!!

  • In 1973 and 1974 I lived in Austin. My boyfriend and I got tickets to see Van Morrison. Little Feat opened the show. Not before or since have I ever seen or heard better lyrics and music. The crowd tried to keep them on stage even after five encores. Finally Van came out and got the crowd calmed down and did his show. Of course, Van Morrison was incredible, too. What a memory. What a loss for us that we don't have Lowell George anymore.

  • My heart aches every time I see/hear a Feat video/song....We've lost two great men far too soon, but at least we still have the memories!

    weed, whites, and wine indeed!

  • I saw Bonnie Raitt and Little feat outdoors back in 76.For an encore,Little Feat came onstage with Bonnies band.It was one of the best concerts I ever saw.I've seen them since Lowell died and they wern't half as good.

  • Play it Bill ~ sure do miss Lowell

  • Maybe the weed and wine. would be better huh?

  • One of my absolute favorites...and always will be.

  • Fantastic. This really takes me back. Thanks!

  • The best fucking song ever

  • Words to live by

  • Words to live by

  • If I had 5 minutes to live and could listen to one song, this is it.

  • What are whites? When he says give me weed, whites, and whine....

  • @backlund5 Cheap nasty speed. They were quite the rage back then.

  • @backlund5 speed, uppers

  • @backlund5 speed, uppers

  • @backlund5 speed

  • @Shadowmaniac2000 WEED LOL

  • @backlund5 Speed:)

  • Ein absolut toller Song....ich liebe ihn!!!!!

  • it is the classic! That is why there is no Rock Hall The induction group ignores class bands but welcomed rap artists and boring bands like U2 Iggy Pop and The Cure Jackasses

  • @TheStampedehero

Dude, there is NOTHING boring about Iggy Pop.

I can't believe you just SAID that...

  • I've driven the backroads so I wouldn't get weighed. But if you give me weed, whites, and wine...

  • Oh god thank you for posting this.

  • RIP Lowell .

  • How Can 14 PEOPLE NOT LOVE THIS?

  • @MrRcheek They aren't real people..They are pod people .

  • @MrRcheek Probably fans of Coldplay, Creed and such.

  • @seantomkins they are nickelback fans

  • @MrRcheek perhaps because it is 'out of sync' like soooo much on youtube. Such a shame. I wish tey could do something to sync up all the videos and soundtracks so it looks really so much better...I'm a drummer and it is so hard to watch a video that is a second in front or behind the music! Gotta love Little Feat to the max!

  • @drummiedan I understand being an guitarist. Still its great to hear this song. I'm posting on my wall again , lol

  • @MrRcheek Cuz they have no taste?

  • @MrRcheek probably got weighed...

  • i heard the original studio recording of this song on theme time radio hour, street map theme, ride the road trucker! highway tune

  • everytime i go to mexico!

  • This guy was special, his music wasn't contrived or full of gimmickry it was straight from the soul, ahhh words just can't describe such beauty, just can't do it.

  • Lordy Lordy...

It don't get no better than this !!!

    Thanks !!

  • I loved Seatrain's version of Willin' too. Great song.

  • Supposedly George came to Zappa with this song and Zappa liked it but felt it wasn't a Zappa song and suggested he start his own band. And basically forced Lowell out.

  • @glennw53 Lowell >>>>>>>>>>>>>> Zappa.

Sooner you learn it, sooner you can move on , son. I'm willin' to bet...

  • @glennw53 Supposedly Frank didn't like the drug references. He was an early anti-drug guy. I just glad this song got made.

  • @DBTdad I know, he was anti-hippy and anti-drug and a Conservative, go figure? I have to feel he did experiment with pot or LSD and it was unpleasant along with the unproductive elements associated with it. He wanted the music to come first and pretty much things done right whether it politics, society or how you conduct your life.

  • Haans, absolutely! Been performing that song for decades! Not sure if you'd notice the discussion below where some guy's insisting it's, "Wheat, white sand n wine..." Too funny!!

  • You can't fool an old Little Feat Fan!

    :)

    peace :)

  • lyricsmode (.) com/lyrics/l/little_feat/willin (.) html

And I been from Tuscon to Tucumcari

    Tehachapi to Tonapah

Driven every kind of rig that's ever been made

Driven the back roads so I wouldn't get weighed

And if you give me: weed, whites, and wine

And you show me a sign

I'll be willin', to be movin

  • "Wheat, white sands and wine"?? Really? That's nearly as good as those Hendrix lyrics, "'S'cuse me while I kiss this guy..."

  • Weed, whites and wine! and you show me a sign

    peace,

    haans :)

  • Good truck drivin' song.

  • Have a DVD from Rockplast German T.V. show "The Best"

  • zen, get the wax out of your ears... that doesn't even scan

  • It is not "weed" nor "whites". get out of the drugs, read the original lyrics or really just listen;;; it is "wheat, white sand and wine".

  • @zen31999 bullshit, you look the lyrics up,

  • @zen31999 zen, settle down, it's weed whites and wine. Perhaps you should look it up on lyrics.com

A trucker uses weed, whites, and wine my friend. At least more than 50% do, just ask one.

And don't send anything mean until you have done your homework please.

    Peace

  • @craines175 He's right about the truckers using all that stuff. I don't anymore ( I been out here almost 40 years, but I have done my fair share and a couple other guys too) I could tell you stories that would make the hair stand up on your neck. Damn we had some good times.

  • I consider myself lucky to have cool parents who raised me on Little Feat!

  • Willin' is on the 'classic' song list I made up of my favorite songs. I first heard it on the "Wain' on Columbus" LP, (Vinyl) many moons ago.. It's #1, then 'Don't Bogart Me', then.....

    It's a wonderful tune .

  • george lowell and the last record company..

    -=

  • I gave this song to an ex-girlfriend a few years ago. The only thing she could say is it was "silly." Notice the "ex" part of that equation.

  • @rossobass420 - What else COULD she be other than "ex"? - This is some of the best music that will ever be played - Good for you! Loved your comment!

  • Love this song. Reminds me of my LN2 transport driving days in the oilfields of Texas, New Mexico, Pennsylvania and West Virginia. Weed, whites and beer were my choices after I was off-duty. Went on to school and never looked back, except when I hear this song.

  • Cheers to all the guys who went through MCC San Diego who got caught with the smokes and folks....

  • @olivernewsweekly I've got a feelin' your not talking about the Mennonite Central Commitee, because I've been to the MCC in Chicago love this music

  • Rory Gallagher and Little Feat at the Rockpalast. It just couldn't get any better

  • Beautiful.

  • too drunk and out of key in certain parts, nice piano solo though

  • This is one of the most beautiful songs ever made (I miss Lowell George)

I saw this fantastic band in Aarhus some years ago, and i'll never forget it !!!

That Piano solo by Bill Paine is second to none.....

  • This is one of the most beautiful songs ever made (I miss Lowell George)

I saw this fantastic band in Aarhus some years ago, and i'll never forget it !!!

  • ahem

  • He did a good job but I still like the Linda Ronstadt version better. But I also like this version but it doesn't hit home like the other one.

    Thanks for the up!

  • Lowelll George. Tehachapi to Tonopah. Sing it friend.

  • Lowell - We still miss you!

  • Amazing performance... such a timeless classic, and this version is just... goosebumps. Absolute goosebumps

  • I wept.

  • Bless you for not a mere audio with montage.

  • @bobbygoode Not that there's anything wrong with that! Better to have it up here, when footage is not available, than not at all.

  • saw them at the main point ...bryn mawr,pa. AWESOME!!!!!

  • Priceless, immortal footage. Ain't no music like that today, it seems. Did Billy lay down some licks, or what?

  • RIP Richie!

  • haha, my cousin used to sing, 'if you give me wheat, whites, and wine...' but what trucker wants wheat in his whites? good memories.

  • RIP Rithcie

  • Richard Hayward is OUR drummer.

  • There's too much heart in this song for Zappa to have ever recorded it with the Mothers.

Zappa was an aural scientist. George was like most great musicians; his great big heart leaked out of most everything he wrote and performed.

  • Been thinking about Richie all day. RIP.

  • Multitalent Lowell George RIP

    thanks for posting this

  • RIP Richie.

  • "give the drummer some"

  • RIP Richie. For those of us into them in the 70's, they weren't just a band, they were family. That's why today hurts so much.

  • Bless you Richie!!

  • Listen to the drummer.

  • I am very sad to hear of the death of Richie Hayward. I am seeing the band tomorrow in Holmfirth, England and although Richie hadn't played for sometime because of his illness it will be very a poignant occasion if the concert goes ahead. God bless you Richie

  • For me the best Lowell George song ever, absolutely love this band.

  • RIP Richie

  • RIP Richie-you will be missed!

  • Rest in peace Richie

  • How do you say anything negative about a former Frank Zappa muscian. However.... Brooks & Dunn does a most excellent rendition of this tune that will bring tears to your eyes.

  • And I'm Still.........Listening to Little Feat !

  • killer song! thanks! peace

  • Three minutes of musical perfection.

Lowell George died 31 years ago today.

He's very underappreciated, but the music will never be forgotten.

    Fair winds...

  • If that is a true story then thanks donaldjacson for that tidbit. I am always fascinated by the deep inner stories of rock n roll. This song always moves me big time!

  • Dynamite!

  • SO STONED

  • And we are all stoned...

    gettin thru some tough times

  • Any other feat fans out there remember the show in Denver that was moved from Red Rocks to McNichols Arena due to thunder storms in late 70's?

  • this song can get anybody through some hard times

  • Might have been Bill Payne's idea in an interview - movie about Little Feat with Jack Black at Lowell.

  • 'Play it Billy' & he sure did...

  • I have driven well over a million miles of interstate, a lot of it singing this song..Thanks Guys

  • Lowell obviously a man of tremdous talent...just gotta' love this trucker's classic...it truly is a real standout amoung so many road songs out there. Sadly, dope took Lowell from us, but he lives on in the great tunes(like this one) he left behind for us. I'm no trucker, but this tune takes me out on the road every time I hear it. Thanks for posting it.

  • best song ever by littel feat

  • I once read an article in "Rolling Stone" magazine in which Jimmy Page spoke very highly of this band at that time... and (he) said that they were "one" of his favorites.

  • found this album at a thrift store the other day(:

  • play it willie...

  • Lowell is communicating off his head here........the common man......can make a difference.......
