A lot of the early Offspring music takes inspiration from bands such as The Pixies or Nirvana; if you don't believe me, just listen to "Self-Esteem" by The Offspring and then listen to "Smells Like Teen Spirit" by Nirvana. It took a time fot The Offspring to get their own musical identity ("All I Want", "The Meaning of Life", "Come Out Swinging"), but they did create a-hell-of a identity, though!
