@justjoekeane Its the same hood as the JDM STI's except its not aluminum and the hood vents are a bit different design. Just like the newer American STI's, the hood scoop is for the TM Intercooler; which these don't have a turbo. Perfect canidates for WRX/STI swaps.
The reason the scoop is backwards coz they put the intercooler in the front bar already so no point 4 the top scoop but u can still use it backwards so the heat from the engine bay will just flow on top.
it was actually tested that subarus that have front intercooler will be more effective to cool the engine if the scoope is reversed. Scoop is good when they have the original superior intercooler.
@tingles03 it could go both ways. if u have it on back wards it causes a vacuum in the engine bay causing air to suck in else where. so it might be good with a front mount. but usually its kind of pointless to do that =\ lol
@tingles03 The red scoob has a FMIC ( 0:06-0:07 sec). So the normal scoop doesn't work. This way, reversed, it sucks the engine heat out of the enginebay ;)
@tingles03 aerodynamics are your friend, the only way for true ram air induction through that hood would be for it to be placed backwards. and yes i own 2 of these cars so i do know that the scoop is utterly pointless regardless on the us models

reverse scoop. It probably has a front mount, creates a vacuum and increases cooling under the bonnet. Team Orange's GC8 drift car has it
