neo cons don't want to change that ,they think we still in 1811 instead of 2011,no surprise the usa will end up like ussr,no empire last forever.................
I don't see why our popular vote shouldn't count- I live in a Blue state and my vote for Ron Paul won't mean a thing. That really disappoints me , I think the system is quite flawed . Not to mention the debacle in FL that caused Bush to "win" the election - I think Gore should have won sicne he won the popular vote .
@folladordeprostis Ron Paul wouldn't do that because he believes in the constitution. only the liberals want to get rid of it that way the lies they spread to brainwash the public will directly influence who is president.
@doogleandalix The rest of the world laughs at usa democracy, bush jr 47.9%
al gore 48.4% winner bush jr,that makes sense??? ??? and neo cons don't want to change that ,they think we still in 1811 instead of 2011,no surprise the usa will end up like ussr,no empire last forever.................
@infinity999ful It does count because the plurality vote gives the party electors the chance to vote. And it works because it gets us away from the evils of direct democracy.
@WPA82nd If there was no electoral college, no states would control anything... control would be in the hands of the collective individuals with everyone's vote counting.
I live in Wyoming. I'm tired of my vote being not even worth the gas it takes to drive to the polls. It is literally not worth my time. The electoral college is an antiquated system that needs to be abolished.
@DenaInWyo yeah but neo-cons will riot in the streets if got abolished, they support electorar college so much............they say "is the american way"
@teddsman How on Earth could it count less than it already does? I live in an overwhelmingly red state. It's basically not even worth me going to the polls.
Notice only the Republican-communist- and Democrat-socialist- are given a color to represent them in the coloring of each state.
The Libertarian, Green, Tax-payer parties are not even given a color. Because America has the system set so that the ONE party which controls America is sure to have either branch of it's party elected.
THERE IS NO REAL CHOICE.
"one person-one vote" is null and void.
Imagine if Homecoming Queens were elected in this same manner.....riots in the streets.
@dodgyhingst The reason why Hitler came to power in Germany is because of a multiparty system. The two party system allows every view to come into collaboration within these 2 parties and it keeps us away from radical rule.
@Jacoby515 Hitler....scary ! ! ! ! Many nations have more than two political parties and they have never fallen to their own private version of Hitler.
@dodgyhingst Your right many nations in Europe, no wonder why they are in a financial crisis even more catastrophic than the on in the U.S. Reason being because the U.S. Two-party system was able to end the paths that the radical policies endorse by minor parties because they couldn't get anywhere. The people can still vote for these minor parties but we choose not to because we haven't been fooled like the Europeans have. Now all of Europe is paying the ultimate price.
The real problem with the Florida recount in 2000 wasn't the hanging chads and butterfly ballots but something more abstract - the winner-take all rule which awarded all 25 Florida electors to Bush.
ME and NE choose their electors differently - only two statewide, the rest by congressional district. If FL had this in 2000 then any recount would have had only 3 electors at stake. Bush would have received only 14 electors when he needed 24 to win. Gore would have won the election.

I love the Electoral College it is the best way to elect our President since big states can't control the election.

@DenaInWyo if people just went with the popular vote than your vote would count less because it would represent all of the US instead of just Wyoming

DenaInWyo 1 month ago
@DenaInWyo itll count less because in Wyoming your vote is 1/500,000 but then in the all of the US it would count 1/300,000,000.

@teddsman So what. who cares about the percent basis. All votes should be equal

Not Bush. He was appointed by the supreme court first, then by Diebold - who may have "elected" Obama as well.
But the point of the video is well taken.
