You're more pessimistic than I am. We the people every 2 years vote our representatives into office, so it is our fault what has happened to our country; we can blame no one else. It is our fault that our jobs have been shipped over seas. It is our fault that we are on the road to becoming equal with the rest of the world, meaning that we are about to become increasingly poorer every year from here on out. Our only hope is to retract from the world and become nationalistic again.
