I'm a proud owner of a Acura TL-S 08 and I've beaten 350z's 4 times already plus I've beaten a Dodge Camaro with traffic in the freeway TL's are way to fast don't mess with them!!!
I've beat 350z's and G35's so I'm pretty sure the Tl Type S is faster stock. I love my 07 Type S but I really wish there were more aftermarket parts for it. I'm not going to lie though, I think the 350z has more potential as a race car.
Raced one myself last night. Stock base 5sp TL. Went through 3 different runs, and beat the 350z each time. But in the long run 350z is definitely better.. just not stock
Lol honestly that Honda motor is limited from stock.. already about 30 hp. Dyno's prove the TL's ECU cuts down as it reaches max RPM. Same motor as a NSX just SOHC And an aftermarket ECU is finally tested working on the TL. Not while before the TL turns into a full tuner car. Manual cars have been doing 13.7. 6 speed TL-S does NOT do low 13's, that's ridiculous, and if it's any faster than high 13's's I'll paypal you $100! The only reason that 350z lost is because either...1) the driver doesnt know how to drive or 2) the acura has something special under the hood....that's it.
again, as for looks 350Z hands down, I've never turned my head twice to look at TL, its just a comfy family car, nothing more.
@kingklay1 The reason the Z lost is probably because it's rolling on 20" wheels. Higher unsprung weight, larger diameter wheels add up to taller gears and slower accel times. It's for show, not go. Only time it makes sense really is when you add enough power to overcome the traction limits of smaller wheel/tire setup. Just my .02

What are you talking about?? 350z's are quicker than TL's from the factory. No more can be done to the TL? LOL. Where are getting this from? The 350z obviously didn't have a good driver in this vid, it should've walked the Type S 5AT. I have an Accord 6MT, extremely similar to the TL 6MT, and there are a good amount of mods...not as much as the VQ, but a good amount nonetheless.
I know each and every spec of both cars. Specs on paper isn't everything my friend. Accord 6MT and TL-s 6MT ARE comparable..the TL-s is a little quicker but not by much. It's much heavier than the Accord. The new Accord 6MT is just as fast if not faster than the TL-s 6MT btw...TL more luxurious obviously.

The base TL can have a supercharger put into it and plenty of other stuff like exhaust, intake headers rear cat delete etc.. The TL can have the same except only other person has dropped a supercharger (without proper tuning though) whats he gets it tuned TLS's can produce 350+ hp to the wheels. So you're wrong about keeping them totally stock

You'd be surprised. The TL Type-S beat the G series, IS350, and a 350z at the course in willowfork and by a test in Japan, by the same professional driver. The TL Type-S will win, and since it just came out with a Turbo, the TL BASE is running @ 10.5 PSI at 480WHP @ 400LB/TQ. Not a Chump car.
I already know, and only person has ever achieved the turbo for our cars and that is it, but it is basically made, their just testing for reliability and power limits.
I own a 2005 Acura TL stock, had it for about 6 months now and I can top it out easy on highways. BMW powerful engines reliable in the long run "i dont know" i have friends who own 5 series and 3 series and one owns c320 coupe and they all have electrical prob.."is that common"? I always owned a acura from 89 integra, 97 2.2 CL and now the 3.2 TL 05 and never had a real engine prob other than reg oil change, belt, plugs ect...

s2000 4cylinder keeps up with g35's,350z's,srt-4,cobaltSS,solstice gxp,redlines,g6 gtp, 00-04 gt's,mx-5,ms3, and wrx's. All the mentioned cars are v6,v8's,or TURBO 4's vs N/A 4cyl

So you know the type S came out in 02. The numbers I posted above are for the TL not the type S. Maybe thats where your confusion set in. The numbers on the type S 2007 are 5.7 and 14.3 respectively. Doesn't change the fact that it is still 2 slow to walk on the new Infiniti's, maybe the Maxima I couldn't say.

lol, ive been inside of a sl65 amg and its not impresive to me...my car has some power dude, i dont give a crap what you say, ive taken my car over 100 and i know how fast it gets up there....for instance, on the freeway when im driving ill pushed probably 1/4 of an inch in on the throttle and i hit 120 from 70 in about 7-8 seconds...amg is a big block with a forced induction...mine isnt...and yes ive beat a e55, not the new one, old body type...year before this body type...
Rule #1 you dont mess with a car that cost 65-100k i found that out the hard way.. AMG SC V8's make around 500hp and will hit 150mph with easy.. small block V8's with forced induction are in some of the fasest street cars in the world.

ok, ok. no accord can beat a 350z. a 350 can beat a stock TL, not the TL-S, whether it is automatic or not. Tl-S automatic is 5.2 to 60 while the 350Z manual is 5.3. anyways. an accord v6 is0-60 in 6.1
i would love to see an accord beat a 350z... althought my boy had a sentra se r spec v with intake headers exhuast and no cat while using nos lost to an accord V6 ex....he raced my se r altima i got him worst than the EX except when we hoped on the highway he out handled me he got rid og that car 2 days after that....
As an EX-OWNER of a 2007 Acura TLS and new owner of a 2008 G35X I can tell everyone the G35 OWNS The TLS. To respond to a few others here Blackghostthe auto TLS is more like a 6 second 0-60 not a 5.2. 6spdtls u beated what? "BS". kiplin5111 yes you have observed correctly especially considering the G35's auto's are faster than the manuals, and they are running 5.3 to 60 and 13.8 in a quarter. This is territory Acura can only dream of entering!
hey, ill take your car any day. my TLS with comptech supercharger, comptech intake, exhaust, and catback, plus brembo big brakes will kill your g35 hehe... :D
IF (big if) you have a supercharger on your TLS thats what it would take to beat me or any other 07 or newer G35. By the way the brembos aren't exceptional. The exhaust and intake probably hurt your cars performance but maybe help if you do have the blower. I put almost 20k on my TLS and half of the body panels didn't line up. The TLS is a good car I don't take anything away from it.
POST some pics of the blown TLS it would be the first i've seen.

Not a fan of the TL's the lines just arent there. They don't look bad ass in any way.
The only reason that 350z lost is because either...1) the driver doesnt know how to drive or 2) the acura has something special under the hood....that's it.
again, as for looks 350Z hands down, I've never turned my head twice to look at TL, its just a comfy family car, nothing more.

@kingklay1 The reason the Z lost is probably because it's rolling on 20" wheels. Higher unsprung weight, larger diameter wheels add up to taller gears and slower accel times. It's for show, not go. Only time it makes sense really is when you add enough power to overcome the traction limits of smaller wheel/tire setup. Just my .02

Why are TL owners sooooooooooo happy that TLs are quicker stock? Don't you people understand?!?! THAT'S IT! No more can be done to the TL... it's at it's max potential... Where is the fun in that? What are you talking about?? 350z's are quicker than TL's from the factory. No more can be done to the TL? LOL. Where are getting this from? The 350z obviously didn't have a good driver in this vid, it should've walked the Type S 5AT. I have an Accord 6MT, extremely similar to the TL 6MT, and there are a good amount of mods...not as much as the VQ, but a good amount nonetheless.

I know each and every spec of both cars. Specs on paper isn't everything my friend. Accord 6MT and TL-s 6MT ARE comparable..the TL-s is a little quicker but not by much. It's much heavier than the Accord. The new Accord 6MT is just as fast if not faster than the TL-s 6MT btw...TL more luxurious obviously.

The base TL can have a supercharger put into it and plenty of other stuff like exhaust, intake headers rear cat delete etc.. The TL can have the same except only other person has dropped a supercharger (without proper tuning though) whats he gets it tuned TLS's can produce 350+ hp to the wheels. So you're wrong about keeping them totally stock

You'd be surprised. The TL Type-S beat the G series, IS350, and a 350z at the course in willowfork and by a test in Japan, by the same professional driver. The TL Type-S will win, and since it just came out with a Turbo, the TL BASE is running @ 10.5 PSI at 480WHP @ 400LB/TQ. Not a Chump car.

I own a 2005 Acura TL stock, had it for about 6 months now and I can top it out easy on highways. BMW powerful engines reliable in the long run "i dont know" i have friends who own 5 series and 3 series and one owns c320 coupe and they all have electrical prob.."is that common"? I always owned a acura from 89 integra, 97 2.2 CL and now the 3.2 TL 05 and never had a real engine prob other than reg oil change, belt, plugs ect...

nissan has bigger motors with wayyyy more torque and h.p. Honda's are just more refined and still pack heat. Look for any N/a 4 cylinder, guranteed they are nowhere near honda's.
s2000 4cylinder keeps up with g35's,350z's,srt-4,cobaltSS,solstice gxp,redlines,g6 gtp, 00-04 gt's,mx-5,ms3, and wrx's. All the mentioned cars are v6,v8's,or TURBO 4's vs N/A 4cyl

i got a 04 tl-s apsec (270hp)with bodykit pinstripes with side skirts front and rear lip, rear deck spoiler one of a kind but anyways i raced a dodge viper from stand point and beat him 0-80mph by like 3 car lengths but after 80mph he blew by me, i also raced 350z, altima, mustangs and beat em all with ease, tl is no joke, only people that owns one really know what im talking about. btw 350z is a piece of sh*t cuz i can beat that in my 97 prelude bone stock. peace...

I don't care what you own and how old you are. You can't just jump in a car and drive it perfect. Every car is different and you have to adjust. FOR EXAMPLE!!! What do they rate evo9's? Go look it up? A few friends drove it at 12.7-12.9!! Mag racing is FTL. 03 cobras in REAL LIFE are mid to high 12's what do mags say?? 06 Si's are known to go 14.7. Some mags get them right but MOST do NOT!

So you know the type S came out in 02. The numbers I posted above are for the TL not the type S. Maybe thats where your confusion set in. The numbers on the type S 2007 are 5.7 and 14.3 respectively. Doesn't change the fact that it is still 2 slow to walk on the new Infiniti's, maybe the Maxima I couldn't say.

body kits are designed to increase airflow and also maintain better handling and downforce at high speeds. they don't really make much of a difference on drag cars, more for top speed cars and track cars. however a lot of that really flashy crap will actually just add weight to the car and slow it down

lol, were talking about v6's...btw that car is a v8 supercharged...if i supercharged my car i guarentee id keep up...trust me...and the 05 e55 runs 1/4 in about 12-13 seconds...mine runes 12.8 at 104...id keep up trust me...

lol, ive been inside of a sl65 amg and its not impresive to me...my car has some power dude, i dont give a crap what you say, ive taken my car over 100 and i know how fast it gets up there....for instance, on the freeway when im driving ill pushed probably 1/4 of an inch in on the throttle and i hit 120 from 70 in about 7-8 seconds...amg is a big block with a forced induction...mine isnt...and yes ive beat a e55, not the new one, old body type...year before this body type...

Rule #1 you dont mess with a car that cost 65-100k i found that out the hard way.. AMG SC V8's make around 500hp and will hit 150mph with easy.. small block V8's with forced induction are in some of the fasest street cars in the world.

lol. the tl is auto. those cars are quick, they also weigh 3500lbs. dude, my 06 6 speed accord coupe will walk a 350z (a 2004 anyway- the 260hp version). those cars are pigs, same for g, too heavy.

ok, ok. no accord can beat a 350z. a 350 can beat a stock TL, not the TL-S, whether it is automatic or not. Tl-S automatic is 5.2 to 60 while the 350Z manual is 5.3. anyways. an accord v6 is0-60 in 6.1

i would love to see an accord beat a 350z... althought my boy had a sentra se r spec v with intake headers exhuast and no cat while using nos lost to an accord V6 ex....he raced my se r altima i got him worst than the EX except when we hoped on the highway he out handled me he got rid og that car 2 days after that....

As an EX-OWNER of a 2007 Acura TLS and new owner of a 2008 G35X I can tell everyone the G35 OWNS The TLS. To respond to a few others here Blackghostthe auto TLS is more like a 6 second 0-60 not a 5.2. 6spdtls u beated what? "BS". kiplin5111 yes you have observed correctly especially considering the G35's auto's are faster than the manuals, and they are running 5.3 to 60 and 13.8 in a quarter. This is territory Acura can only dream of entering!

IF (big if) you have a supercharger on your TLS thats what it would take to beat me or any other 07 or newer G35. By the way the brembos aren't exceptional. The exhaust and intake probably hurt your cars performance but maybe help if you do have the blower. I put almost 20k on my TLS and half of the body panels didn't line up. The TLS is a good car I don't take anything away from it.
POST some pics of the blown TLS it would be the first i've seen.

hahah, yea you are right... it has so much horsepower to the wheels that they spin. but the intake added like what, 15 hp, and the exhaust just makes it sound sickkkk. The TL isnt really a racing car cuz its front wheel drive but i made it one lol
