nice video, but wouldn't using a layer mask be a better solution instead of deleting the unused area of the gradient? it helps if you want to go back and fix the tint. you don't have to redo everything
Why not just create a new layer, then use your magic wand, then click the window hold shift click the other window and the repeat for all windows. fill it with black, then put the layer from normal to color :D
If I might make a suggestion, you are using the polygon tool? I think you'd have better control if you used the pen tool then made the selection that way. You could also go back and edit the points if you make a mistake compared to having to start over.
Why didnt you just select it with the poly lasso tool before hand?

Yeah maybe, but Photoshop Elements 6 was pre-buildt in my computerm, so I kinda got it for free :D
