Those tech. innovations he talked about came from the PRIVATE SECTOR and were developed by individuals driven by PROFIT. These advances were not given to us by the GOVERNMENT, nor brought about by bureaucracies driven by POWER and VOTES.

Big difference! Giving the gov't control over industry and technology would be SUICIDE.

If these "green" technologies are, in fact, on the horizon, the private sector WILL develop them, on their dime, immeasurably faster than the gov't could ever hope to.
