I wish you would have driven the car outside, rarely you hear winter driving impressions from journalists. Do you guys get restricted by the manufacturers, do they not want you to drive the press cars on the slippery stuff?
@sanmusa We're not restricted by the manufacturers, only by common sense. Seattle doesn't have the equipment to deal with a severe winter storm, the roads were truly horrible. Only vehicles with all-wheel drive and decent tires got through. Streets were blocked with cars that were stuck for days (I had to walk two blocks to my house).
As a native Minnesotan I believe winter driving is as much skill as it is vehicle performance. Tires make a HUGE difference too. Makes snow testing difficult.
It's design to make revving noise, making you think you are driving faster. But if you looked at teh speed, it's not that fast. Smaller engine than Civic or the same?
'It's design to make revving noise, making you think you are driving faster' that is the ONLY way any 4 cyclynder engine makes hp dambass its not made for generating torque like v8 truck engine
'Smaller engine than Civic or the same' fits are always with L seriese which never equiped with civics
IF YOU DONT KNOW SHIT THEN JUST SHUT THE FUCK UP DONT EVEN TRY TO BE A SMART ASS
The Fit has good power given the size of the engine. It does get noisy on the highway but it doesn't feel 'floatly at all ... Traction control and centre armrest / storage area should be offered as an option.
I bought a Fit Sport new in 2008 and it's still a great car. For the money you can't get better. The 2007 and 2008 exterior designs were even more awkward than the current one — think a mini mini-van — but I've come to love the weirdness! Like having a English Bulldog for a car....so strange looking, it's oddly adorable! Also it's "fit" at least six inebriated friends during my DD duties. Yes, at once.
I live in the Philippines and owned a 2009 Jazz (Fit) for about 6 months before I moved to a place where I had to have an SUV for additional ground clearance. I had the most sedate of all the models available here, the 1.3 with auto trans. Even in that configuration it is a GREAT car and extremely fun to drive. When I go back to the states I intend to buy a Fit Sport. Again, this is a great car and I really miss mine. BTW, get it in red... very sporty look.
i love my 2010 honda fit sport. the reason why it takes those curves in the garage so nimbly is the "vehecle stability assist" that the sport comes with.
It's fine but hardly a high end system. Keep in mind that there's a bit of road noise with the Fit and so it's not the best environment for critical listening. Hope that helps! TV
@ninjaman989 - I have this car with the same nav system. DriveCar got it right, it's far from high-end. There are only two freq. adjustments for the eq (bass and trebble). In short, I'd say it sounds OK if not below industry average. I've not had the opportunity to compare it to others in the same subcompact class. It's not so bad that I need to wire up an aftermarket amp and speakers though. It certainly covers the road noise on 75mph runs and the car generates very little wind noise.

Nice review!
Can anyone tell how much the *Sport model* with auto trans but minus the navigation should costs OTD? I'm talking about the 2011 Fit, of course.

@mrblockboii I'm imagining all of this being spouted out by a midget and that makes it much better. Seriously man, he wasn't trying to start a fight.

I like the idea of the toilet paper test. Storage space numbers don't really mean anything if it can't fit bulky shapes.

Those bad road conditions would have been a great oportunity to test the electronic stability control on the Fit Sport.

Uh, no. The car's chassis is nimble, period. It also has little body roll and at least with the Dunlop tires, it has impressive lateral grip.
VSA only comes to play in extreme handling conditions, like if you did something really stupid entering a corner.

How is the audio system on the sport and above, is it the same as the sound system in the 2009 honda civic ex sedan? Could it be better?
