  • Hey Willie. I'm 39 years old, have been playing for 21 years. I began to play professionally in 2004 and love it when the 20 somethings come up to me and are blown away by my playing...just as I am blown away by your playing. When I get older I hope my playing sweetens to your awesome level. Jazz is the ongoing experience, and you are truly a master :-)

  • Are you Santa Klaus?

  • nice!

  • It all made sense until it had to be applied. lol Actually, I got it , but a simple explanation of how many measures of each lick applied would save a lot of frustration.

  • @plangentmusic Yo, actually the Pentatonic Pair set-ups in the example on page 2 of the download does just that. Check it out. There are ways of controlling frustration, however! LOL

  • When the diagram comes in at 4:01 it should have it's own music. Something like the first three notes of the simpsons theme or the Maria motif from west side story.

  • bien bieeen

  • This sounds like Giant Steps is a cryptic message... It's just a song.

  • @musicmanson No. It's a very important piece of the evolution of western music, it's a study, on par with Bach's 24 preludes and fugues of "The Well-Tempered Clavier"

  • @mryellow123 I realize its importance. But still, it's not a cryptic message. You just need to spend lots of time in the shed learning the changes and getting your finger dexterity going.

  • enter text: "santa has the chops of a god!"

  • thats great thx.

  • I deduct that G dominant is another word for G mixolydian?

Being a rock guitar player...this is uncharted territory for me...and I love it!

How come the real book doesn't have the chords to this tune?

    where can I find them?

    thanx

  • @cyberflea07 Mixolydian is built off the 5th interval, and forms a "dominant" chord, Major with a flat 7.

Realbook has changed a bit over time, you need the old non-copyright realbook where no royalties were paid.

  • @cyberflea07 it IS in the real book

  • This guy has some truly mind-blowing hats
