@ja1ares i'm also a dark goth. unfortunately for me, the goth scene is rather weak here in the u.s. i've wanted very much to go to the wave goth treffen in leipzig germany... which should be easy for you to get to since you're right next door.

so i'm rather envious of you.

@MorningofMourning No záleží jak se to vezme. Tady v České republice je nás hodně málo, už jen co posloucháme a jezdíme po festivalech, já už vůbec nejezdím tady se nic neděje. A komerční hudbu moc nemusím, ale neodmítám ji. Tady u nás jsou maximálně 3 až 4 kvalitní koncerty za rok. Je to lepší v Německu a nebo v Anglii na 100 %

@ja1ares yea, but you are next door to germany. you could probably get to berlin in 5 hours by train. for me to get to germany would be 9 hours by airplane. i have never been to czech republic, but i heard really good things about the prague club scene.

anyhow, i guess the grass always looks greener on the other side of the fence.

dark gothic? Does this term really exist?, i know other names like: coldwave gothic, victorian gothic, cyber, deathrocker (i dont know if deathrocker becomes form gothics by the way...) but dark, is the first time that i hear it.

If something is gothic, its already dark, isn't it?

@joaopaulo051 not all goth is dark. i don't think cyber/industrial, or lolita goths are dark.

anyhow, there are dozens of labels for types of goths, and it seems new labels are added each year. to me dark goth is victorian, but with a vamp twist. if there is a definitive guideline for goth labels, i haven't received my copy.

post apocalyptic, which means after apocalypse, against culture after the apocalyse???? I don't know what a dark goth is either. I see beauty in it but I need a better explanation than this because i didn't know the apocalypse happened, and if it did when was it, and what culture are you guys against? a lil confusing for me there, or is it your apocalypse i dont get it shed some light on this...

@jewelscreation1 like i said, it's symbolism... not artifacts of an actual event. it would help if you understood the history. both dark and industrial descended from punk back in the early 80's. industrial would later become cyber goth... albeit with a few modifications.

punk was a pre-apocalyptic anti-culture that welcomed the apocalypse (allegorically of course). cyber goth, having come after punk evolved as post-apocalyptic. anyhow, another source like wikipedia would be better than me.

@jewelscreation1 cyber goth is the more aggressive sibling of dark goth. the masks and other paraphernalia are symbolism of post apocalyptic anti-culture.
