Wow im pretty sure every one of those trucks have the shittiest suspension setups. lol The stampede front end is so stiff that it bounces too much to steer. The rustler is just all around too stiff and doesnt have enough travel.
@Kawasakikid270 Yeah they were stock, not set up for offroad. They were fairly new rigs to us and we just took em out spur of the moment, without setup changes. They're a lot different now, almost 3 years later :)
@TeamDebead Here's my recommendations... On my nitro sport (i know shitty truck but not with everything i've added) i run the traxxas big bore shocks. They're cheap and they make a huge difference. But if u have a little more money Pro-Line Powerstrokes for the slash will work miracles on any of your cars. My friend is using them on his stampede and it handles insanely. I think even better than my lower nitro sport.
@Kawasakikid270 Yeah those Powerstrokes are the sh@$, but most of our money goes into our crawlers now a days. Always looking for deals on the shocks though :)
@TeamDebead Lol yea. I'll be putting the powerstokes on my nitro sport when i rebuild it for sure. I might even do an electric conversion and just make it a rustler. I'm tired of tuning and messing with nitro haha.
My buddy upgraded to RPM bumpers, he might have other minor mods like that, I can't remember, but no major mods to upgrade speed. VXLs really don't need too much to go fast, especially on the Rustlers.
Great video man, the ending was cool. Looks like a killer place to run. Did you change the gearing in the pede at all running the smaller tires/wheels on the back?
The tires on the front are talons, stock for the Pede, the rear are proline paddles, which make the talons look huge. Neither set hit cement or asphalt too often, so they both have full treadlife. :)
Thanks!! I appreciate the rating and the favortism. I've been behind in getting more vids up, but since the holidays are coming to a close, hopefully I'll have more time to do some more :)
I have a Rustler VXL and a T maxx 2.5, slightly modded engine. The T maxx has much more power and acceleration, but the Rustler has a faster top speed. (no lipo) I think it evens out cause a lipo will cost about $120 and you need a special charger ($50), but you could be spending all that money modding your nitro...
Agreed, these guys were just messing around. Most of the time they were pretty even, but it was hard for both of them to punch it and stay straight off the line. :)
the rustler with vxl and 3s lipo can beat jst about anything

stampede is the best fucking truck although traxas is the worst fukn piece of shit redneck company ever and im white lol
this truck will not fucking break because of its low weight and i have a 8000mah thunderpower wich lasts about 2 hours at a gnarly bmx track
ull have to replace a few parts from stock though like shocks and towers to aluminum
gearing it slower will also help teh motor a bit
u gota watch the heat or ur bearings will become part of the motor

vxl clams its water proof but its garbage redneck talk
to them everything is waterproof like ur soap and shampoo for example
i cant even wash this pos w out it having radio issues
and this is coming from a person whos owned a tmaxx and owns a savage
2 wheel drive is jus way more fun to drive
best part about this truck is that its made out of very few parts to begin with

Should i buy a rustler or a stampede VXL

I think you should read the comments below to find a few suggestions.

what do you recomend the vxl rustler or stampede
nice video
RickThePancho007 2 years ago
It depends on what you want. If you like to jump - the Stampede, if you like speed - the Rustler, if you want both - get a Slash.

what type of battery is in the stamped?
lukeaustinholder9 2 years ago
Simple 6 cell 3000s
TeamDebead 2 years ago
by the time you get a 3s lipo in there the maxx will have no chance

what kind of tires n do they fit the stock hexs
motocrossmaniac9 3 years ago
Fronts on the Stampede are the stock Talons, rear are Proline Sand Paws that DO fit the stock Hexes.

what kind of rims r on the back
motocrossmaniac9 3 years ago
whats the size of the rear tires
motocrossmaniac9 3 years ago
The rims are just a cheap Traxxas rim, $6 at Tower Hobbies. The Paddles are 2.2. If you want to see them on a Slash check my Slash Vid.

what battery is in the rustler
timmytime1793 3 years ago
6-cell 3000, but it is a VXL.
TeamDebead 3 years ago

mindphish 3 years ago
Nah, the gearing was what came stock for bashing with the Pede. It pushed those paddles around just fine.
TeamDebead 3 years ago
what tires are on the front of that pede? they look huge, and bald!
MooseDrool513 3 years ago
The tires on the front are talons, stock for the Pede, the rear are proline paddles, which make the talons look huge. Neither set hit cement or asphalt too often, so they both have full treadlife. :)
