  • very futuristic music and instrument.

  • a thing of beauty i think.

  • Omg... magnific...

  • Uh... That's not a crazy guy playing some weird instrument, that's a guy trying to make a living playing a hang drum... R tard...

  • @TheLordBarker if he could get a hang drum in the first place, he must not be that desperate for money

  • HAng Drum!

  • all those unemployed peolple and the only guy trying to earna a living is the weird guy with the drum. capitalism lives on marching to it's own drum.

  • HangDrum FTW

  • Is that an upside-down wok?

  • its a hangdrum

  • Yes, is it!

  • haha

    weird instrument man...

I pray everyday that hang's will be easily available one day for fair money, so that I won't be poor after buying and have to spend my sparetime playing for money like this poor weird instrument guy here...

  • nah, he stole it

  • Its a hang drum! not a steel drum

  • It also looks like you could stir-fry your rice in it once you finished playing it...

  • It's a hang drum. It costs about $2000. It is manufactured much like a Jamaican steel drum: a round surface flattened into flat parts of different sizes producing just the right notes. But a Jamaican steel drum is concave whereas this is convex, mounted on another round steel piece. So a hang drum is really like the "underside" of a Jamaican steel drum. It works because it doesn't matter if you whack the underside of a Jamaican steel drum, it sounds the same as if you whacked the top side.

  • Apparently it is a "Hang Drum" (pronounced hung) and they are only made in switzerland apparently.

  • nope

  • I love this instrument!

  • I love the hang drum, although there are much better players than this guy

  • It's a hang drum - lazy hippies love it, because it takes no talent to tap on a convex metal bowl. Some people are actually pretty good and talented at it, though.

  • search youtube for Dante Bucci Reminiscence. That vid is pretty good!

  • LOL whoever downrates his comment is a dirty hippy!

  • thats wat i was thinkin, you dont really have to be talented you make a good sound on this,

if you have a good musical ear you can probably pick one of these up and play sumthin half decent

  • That's a hang drum

  • Hung Drum*

  • wow !

    awesome sound ...

  • thats a pretty expensive instrument to play on

  • is it expensive??

  • Thousands of dollars

  • that a joke?

  • no it isn't. Thousands

  • thats ridiculous, how can it be thousands of dollars?? :S

  • it makes a perty noise?

  • a steel pan is near two grand for one of quality. and a hang drum from what i have found is about th same. only you cant really get them if you live in the states unless you travel over seas.

  • It's called work hours. They take a long time to make, and at this point in time they're all hand made. To put one bend in metal to make it have a different pitch from the rest of the metal is hard enough let alone having multiple notes all perfectly pitched relative to each other. I can't imagine that it'd take any shorter than a month to make one.

  • It takes only a few days to make this.

  • But, once they figure out the exact shape and dimensions of a hang drum, wouldn't they just feed it into a computer to make a die, and then stamp sheets of metal repeatedly into the right shape? How hard is that?

  • it really is...it's not just expensive, it is very ahrd to get one, you have to go to a meeting in europe, and choose it.

  • Too bad for that though. This could take off in price but the makers and patent holders of this are complete hippies and don't want it to hit "mass market". That what happens when there's lack of business. I looked into being a dealer for this thing.

  • its called a hang drum

  • sounds like a steel drum

  • hah acool. this guy has a youtube acount. i recognise him an hos drum case. well an hois drum haha very cool

  • que pecueca de video

  • its a hang drum

  • looks like a calipso or kalipso sort of

  • yea, just saw it here on you tube some hour ago, just search for "Hang drum" and you'll get more of it

  • This is a Hang, made by PanArt in Bern, Switzerland. Forget about trying to get one.

  • I have no idea.

  • what is that insturment called?

  • I think its just a steal drum upside-down, but i cant really tell. thats what it looks like

  • nope

  • It's called a Hang, kinda pronounced like hung. It means hadn in some other language (I forget which one). It's made by Panart, which is just two guys from switzerland.
