  • mung beans are so easy to sprout. After the intial 8 to 10 hours of soaking in water, just drain them off. Keep them in a glass or plastic dish, spread them out so they are not on top of each other. Mist them lightly once every couple of hours. Place a paper towel over top of dish. In 3 to 4 days you sprouts ready to eat. dont allow mung beans to get leaves, then become bitter. Most sprouts become bitter quickly after their ideal harvest point. They spoil quickly too. sprout what you need.

  • @LookUpAtSkyNow They sure are! And they grow fast too! I always end up finishing them with leaves on ;)

  • I find mung beans too bitter for my liking when they start putting out leaves. Then I have to use them in a stir-fry. I quit sprouting them because I somehow missed the right times to eat them. :p Cucumbers inside? Wow, that's the first time I've seen that. I'm impressed. :)

  • @VivianRinSC They do have a pronouced taste. And they do grow leaves pretty fast. I did get one small diformed cuccumber out of it....but the plant died after a while ??

  • Where did you get that sprouting tray

  • @MrGabesutube I got it from vessey seeds...but I found it in a few health stores. works pretty good! I'll send you the vid I made of it!

  • For your back pain try googling "pressure points for back" maybe that might be of help to you. Also a tennis ball inside a sock will work for the points you can't reach...Good Luck!

  • @wenjolas Well the massages work super great! I'm almost up to 100% a week after my firts one.

  • @jihadacadien: Oh my gosh, I have chronic back pain. I don't know how to fix them. A good massage is a temporary fix. But it's not a permenanent cure. The mung beans are my favorite Asian beans. I soak them in water and cook them in a sweet dessert. Mung beans are very popular in Laos ( southeast Asia)

  • @OS253 I didn't know that...And for the back, my back pain is mostly due to muscles being tight. So far so good, but I stitll have to watch the way I work and do exercises. Someone told me about pressure points too....maybe that would work better for you?

  • @GulfCoastJaguarundi eh eh thanks!

  • depends how you feel about medication but, I have fibromyalgia and I use Ibuprofen and I use alieve ; to get rid of my mussle pain. I also use A535.

  • @crewlla Well if I can get rid of it with massages I'll go every week if I need to! But it's just muscle pain due to the job I do.

  • Your never going to have to shop for food again!!!!!

  • @TheVittleVlog oh that would be awsome!! but I'll still need to go to the store for meat and condiments ;)

  • The epsom salts are good for peppers.

  • @QuickGardens Yeah I just saw that last night on a gardening tweeter chat.

  • holy chris! growing a jungle in there!!

  • @MrGreenbudha Yeah I have to watch my step when I take the dog out....lol

  • @jihadacadien hahahah

  • @MrGreenbudha But hopefully the asparagus will soon go out so it'll be less crowded.

  • @jihadacadien its nice to have a variety of things we can grow ourselves

  • @MrGreenbudha Oh definitely!!! i can't belive I haven't been doing this way before!

  • @jihadacadien you should look into heirloom varieties.i got seeds from hopeseeds in nova scotia i think. she has rat tail radishes, purple brussel sprouts etc. when you start looking into growing your own food, its amazing what you find!

  • @MrGreenbudha Oh I do have some heirlooms....and others that are only organic....and it is amazing to see all the stuff you can grow! eventually when I have more space and have better skills I'll go into variety and quantity ;)

  • @jihadacadien start small right..

  • @MrGreenbudha Yeah not to get overwhelmed...but at this point...;)

  • Oh ya my dad always says make sure and do your sit-ups and sloppy push-ups

  • @Beardedyoungman Yeah they are great for the back! You need a strong stomac in order to have a good back! I need one of those bars you can put in a doorway. The doctor said they were the best thing after swimming.

  • Wow that was quick for the artichokes! Off to the store....

My starts I bought are in the ground now. and it snowed so I they're fine.

Interested to see how the potatoes do in that seaweed

  • @Beardedyoungman Yeah those 'choke seem like they will grow like crazy! And what are your "starts" ? ;) And I can't wait either to see what will happen with my potatoes!!!

  • @jihadacadien I bought artichoke starts from the garden place, didn't think to try like you did just from the store. I'll make a vid soon and you'll see the weed I'm up against!

By the door bar you mean where you hang upside down from your feet?

  • @Beardedyoungman Oh k now I understand! We can have a 'chokes contest ;) And yeah by the feet or by the hands...and that you lift your body with your arms and back. I'm probably just gonna make one ;)

  • @jihadacadien I got a simple bar at canadian tire few years back for under 20 bucks has 4 things you screw in the door so you can have two different levels and no risk of it falling off at all! I don't trust those ones that just hold up by pressure alone.

  • @Beardedyoungman Yeah I have an aluminium bar in the garage. I just need to drill hole in one of the doorways to a bed room ;) Oh God I'd never use one that holds with pressure!!! And you're right, I'm gonna get brackets for my bar or something! Thanks man this is great advice!

  • plants looking good......will be interesting to see how your taters will come out....

  • @ironhead41 Oh yeah! Now that they're in the ground, I can't wait

  • I've been picking asparagus off the ditch banks when I see it driving by, it's not driving by, I'm driving by.

You're looking a little pale J, hope you're getting better. Didn't see anything about what happened, have to see if my subscription thing didn't show one of yours. Almost time to plant. We had a cold snap, lucky I waited. I think in a couple days I'm going to be going for it.

  • You should show use what you do with all the sprouts, where did you get your sprouter and the seed for sprouting?

  • @dalecalder2003 I got it all from vesseys. And basically I mostly put my sprouts in sandwiches....or when I reheat soup. I try not to cook them and just add them raw to a dish or under a dish before I put it in my plate ;)

  • look like you lost weight?

  • @1965blaze Yeah I know! lol But I gained some actually with my back hurting I've been moving way less.

  • I love mung beans. Very mild flavor, I think. Lol, your new beard makes you look even more bad ass than before. Go grab your shovel and start doing some manly work :P. But you seriously have so many plants growing. I can't even grow 1. I'm done with trying to garden for awhile. I'm still looking for a community garden I can grow things in.

  • @ShadowVampira Been a while! I can't wait to taste the beans. I guess you should grow house plants ;) But still good luck with the search!
