A couple of months ago I purchased Palm Pre Plus from AT&T.
I was told that the phone can be unlocked for international travel.
Now I am in Russia, AT&T gave me unlock codes. Neither worked. The representative is telling me that the unlock code will be available in several months.
There will be no refunds or exchanges. I can pretty much stick it.
If you want the worst service ever, sign with AT&T.
it seems like the fone takes a while compared to other fones, to swich from app to app. and is the keybord hard to txt on, like fast for big fingers. and does it have a virtual keybord

Um actually iPhone hasn't copied anything from the Palm Pre. Some jailbreak developers copied the Palm Pre's card UI, but Apple itself didn't do that.

You think Palm is a small company? Clearly they have this "poor us" mantra working well for them then. They are a HUGE company, they have been around in the handset market for decades.
Also Palm is really not quicker with updates. Apple has been holding off updates because the new version of the firmware has too many tablet features and hints in the code and they don't want to let the cat out of the bag. But every other year Apple released tons of updates and added plenty of new features in between firmware versions.

you clearly dont own an iPhone. Over the past couple years Apple has pushed out at least 25 updates with bug fixes, new features, and refinements not including the major 2.0 and 3.0 updates. Palm hasn't released a major update yet so it's not really comparable.

My sister has a Palm Pre and compared to my 3GS it is just too slow to be useable. I thought the Pre Plus would fix this but it's still really slow to open apps. :/ The Pre is the only other phone I'd consider other than my iPhone but it's half-baked compared to iPhone OS.
And, no the Pre has not had 2 major updates. It's still on 1.x .. I'm not holding anything against it I'm just stating fact. The two are not very comparable.

I have an iPhone 3GS and my sister has a Palm Pre. "Better" is subject to opinion. However I know for a fact that the iPhone 3GS is MUCH faster than the Palm Pre, even jailbroken and multitasking.

Jailbroken iPhones are slower than stock iPhones because they have lots of extra extensions that vanilla iPhone OS doesn't have... Jailbreaking made my phone slower, and it's still way faster than the palm pre.

I always loved the fact you can pause and resume everything on Palm; games, apps, music, movies...
Also, I always love being able to use older apps. My HP windows based handheld uses only certain generations of apps. Buying Mosby's nursing drug guide 3 times sucked :(
The amount of RAM is now up there with phones like the Nexus One and HD2, double that of the 3GS. Still a bit disappointing that they didn't release any *really* new phones though.
Don't worry. All of these features are going to be updated on the original Pre. The Pre Plus isn't any faster. It just looks different, has touch stone capability out of the box and twice as much memory. Verizon did buy a couple of exclusive too though. Everything aside from the memory isn't that big a deal in my opinion.
It's not that big of a deal. Apple rips off other products all the time. Spaces is a Linux cube rip off, the magic mouse is a M$ mouse concept rip off, the new features to Snow leopard are blatant Windows 7 rip offs. It happens all the time with ever company.
