Nokia E72 Handset Intro and Demo

Hi, one question: Is nokia e72 a robust phone? What I mean is jean pockets, trousers, and so on. I do fear that the metal shiny frame on the front (or the back cover) might be ruined.

@sminhle I'm using it with the leather pouch supplied with it. The phone is still looking great. I have a coworker that bought his around the same time I did and he didn't use he pouch. That looks pretty good as well. Just remember to avoid metal objects rubbing against the phone.

Yes the keypad lights up. And the square bording the select button is the old fasion direction buttons. So yes, you'll have both. I am sure the optic navigation will likely have a option to turn off. Maybe not though. Everyone has different preferences.

i really dont see the big difference between this and the e71...personally, the applications for the e71 makes it just like the e72. the 5mp came is nice but i'm not a big fan on optical pads.

i would think nokia would make this phone more innovative instead of a glossy upgrade.

its probably because the spacebar on the 71 could be pressed on both sides, depending if ur a lefty or righty, and its really useless and annoying, so thats why they made it one small button

The E72 has the E63 keypad which added 2 more keys on the bottom row. It may not be that important for English users, but foreign languages it is very important to give more room for the extra letters. E63 was a watered down version of the E71, lacking GPS HDSPA or something like that. Plastic body. Not a bad phone. Keys are unevenly lit, battery cover slightly loose, and a rubber plug that is easily lost in the audio jack.

My point exactly. I also live in NYC and i wish these types of phones had more exposure. Iveb been using the e71 since it came out and cant wait to get this. What people dont realise is that unlocked phones are better. Phones like Blackberry and Iphone tend to put their users on lockdown. for instance people askhw i always change my ringtones to songs. They think i pay for it.LOL

I prefer too! I have 2 friends in Russia here that have the iphone 3G. The bluetooth is totally gimped. They can't exchange files with me. They can't put mp3's on that aren't from itunes. In fact they are stuck with what they have on the phone. They have games like water presses and silly things while I play Sega Genesis and original nintendo games like excite bike. Download music and hook up file sharing in the subway with bluetooth.
