Check the whole show & you will see that Mariah even pulled a more difficult song together with her Mother perfectly.
Of course you can't be always 100 healthy as a person so EVERY Artist uses backgrounds sometimes too. Some shows want you to Lipsync due to the lack of technic on TV aswell.
Mariah is good but Charice is better as far as live singing is concerned.... no lipsync... just the real voice and immense talent..... plus she sings with so much soul and emotions....

Though @2:10-2:19, it seemed perfectly alike to the studio version. If you said she lip-synched JUST in this line of the song, i'll agree with you anyway. Another proof is... she hit a whistle register @2:22, while in the original song, she didn't.

I dont give a crap abt Carey's version. Celine's version is far better in my opinion. She sings with heart; not like Carey, only sings for P.R. I keep viewing this version, however, to see the good-looking guitarist at 0:31 - 0:35 & the organist throughout the video, but NOT because of Carey. I LOVE other singers too, but the reason why Mariah is my favorite is become of performances like this. She just has that WOW factor that no other singer can give me. Like at 2:43, for instance, when everyone around her is so nervous in their faces, like "OMG, is she gonna be able to do it?!?" and then she does it flawlessly. That's why Mariah is the best.

A great performance. I just wish some people that want to always see "lipsync" in every performance of an artist to stop this stupid comments.
This was a full live performance and no lipsync was involved.
Check the whole show & you will see that Mariah even pulled a more difficult song together with her Mother perfectly.
Of course you can't be always 100 healthy as a person so EVERY Artist uses backgrounds sometimes too. Some shows want you to Lipsync due to the lack of technic on TV aswell.

i disagree... your basis is somehow unreliable. i may not be a voice coach, music expert or whatsoever, but I have EARS. if you're gonna listen to the studio version of this song, you're going to notice the variation of Mariah Carey's vocal runs. Though @2:10-2:19, it seemed perfectly alike to the studio version. If you said she lip-synched JUST in this line of the song, i'll agree with you anyway. Another proof is... she hit a whistle register @2:22, while in the original song, she didn't.
