  • Italians call it Calcio, how come you assholes never berate them?

  • @LostFaceify Calcio is Italian for Football

  • Seriously I love moments like this in a bar and your Team scores.. Thta dude you argue with because he spilt a bit of your drink Seconds later your team score and the pint is over him... Love it.

  • one of my favorite moments ever watching soccer. still gives me chills

  • q grosos los yankes LO DICE UN ARGENTINE NO SAVIAN QUE GUSTAVA TANTO EL FUTBOL SOCCER HOLIWOOD PONE MUCHO RUGBY FUTBOL AMERICANO JEJEJ HOLLIWOOD MIENTE "

  • 0:27 - "YEAH!!!!!!!!! HIGH FIVE- okay just leave me hanging- YEAH WE SCORED"

  • WHAT?? white ppl like soccer too? damn im fucking shocked i thougt they liked the NFL only

  • Amazing how many British posters are ignorant of the name of the sport, since it was they who named it.

Association Football....or soccer, not to be confused with Rugby, or Rugger. Yes, you can call it Football for short, but the actual name of the sport is Association Football, and soccer is just as reasonable (if more pithy) shorthand.

  • emoçionante

  • I wonder how the U.S will do in the next world cup? Any predictions?

  • @44warjunkie it really depends on the teams we will have in our group.

  • @44warjunkie

They will lose in the semi-finals to Scotland, 3 -1.

But they will win the 3rd place game against Brazil 4-3 on penalties after a 3 - 3 draw ( 2-2 after normal time)

  • Americans discovering the joy of REAL FOOTBALL.

  • And the crowd erupted..?

You should have seen the fans reaction to Chicharito's goal vs. France.

  • @chatitosoccer lol, yeah, no comparison

  • @laziogoalie6 two americans most likelly.

  • That video was awful compared to the other reactions. Clearly 33 people didn't even watch the video.

  • 4 minute overtime. I lol'd.

  • I don't even know how to pronounce soccer. Is it like sucker? I use only Football.

  • @mugizz no, it's like sock-er

  • Football, soccer, give it a rest guys, its the same sport.

  • @Tbirds2012 A game that you throw an oval shape ball is the same as a game were you kick a round one? Football = Soccer (US) Football (US) = American Football.

  • this is what football does to the world and to people.

  • its nice that, if even for a moment, the us cared about soccer :)

  • it's great when everyone is cheering for the same team

  • they can hit 20 homeruns, score 9 touchdowns, wins by 50 baskets but none of that compares to that one goal that decides your fate at the world cup...

  • Donovan is a forward my bad

  • And isn't Donovan a striker?

  • Usa people wake up!!, this is the real football !!!! the #1 sport in the WORLD!!!!

  • over time lol

  • landon is our hero

  • u see how people hug each other :) unity = soccer !

  • Wow. This reported really thought the 4 minutes after the 90 was overtime? If you're a reporter, you seriously need to make sure you say it right.

  • jejeje es bueno que se apasionen por el futbol "soccer", ya era hora pero todavia no sienten esa pasion de los latinos

  • @jorgeguerrero1980

    VIVA USA PUTO!!!

  • ahh this is just to great

  • 4 Minute "overtime"? What a know-nothing reporter...if you're going to do a story on a World Cup game, know what you're talking about.

  • @ben102590 A lot of people just don't understand the concept of injury time.

  • @ben102590 Well, it is well understood that Americans dont really care much about soccer. Americans I believe, think soccer is for sissies and athletes who couldnt get into NFL and NBA... pretty pathetic reasoning if you ask me

  • Comment removed

  • @FilipH86 1) It's called stoppage time, or injury time, or any number of a variety of things

    2) What could be called overtime is known as "Extra Time" or "Added Extra Time"

That's my problem, there is no such thing as Overtime in soccer.

  • @FilipH86 There is no such thing as overtime in soccer...he was trying to refer to "stoppage time" or "injury time" or "additional time". That's my problem

  • @ben102590

    haha i know..

that's how it is in the states.

  • @ben102590

Americans don't get the concept of the referee adding time on - because nearly all their sports have a clock that ticks down to zero - and then the game is over.

When MLS first started, they tried using a countdown clock (the ref. was allowed to stop the clock for injuries). Eventually, they saw sense. On rare occasions, the clock reached zero just before a goal went in - something a normal ref would always allow in injury time.

  • Ha, whoever was doing the copy writing for this newscast is a buffoon... it wasn't the "end of regulation" and it wasn't "overtime." Just goes to show...

  • @Velocity88

    That's true.

Also (I'm not 100% sure) at :10 he says something about the US not moving on if they would have tied.

Wouldn't they have gotten second place and advanced anyway?

  • @cant9think3of9a6name Actually, going into the match, the U.S. had two points in group play (the two draws netted them one point apiece). The win over Algeria gave them three points, putting them up at 5. Had the match been a draw, USA would have three points. Slovenia had four, so the USA would not have even advanced! So in that way, the news report was correct.

  • @cant9think3of9a6name No, if they tied they would not have moved on because England won. If USA tied and England lost, then USA would move on.

-If USA drew with Algeria then USA would've been out because England beat Slovenia.

-If USA drew with Algeria that would give the USA only 3 points and because England beat Slovenia, England would have 5 points and Slovenia 4 and they would place 1st and 2nd respectively.

But thank god that's not the case and we won.

    Hope that helped.

  • As the Scots say, "Nay wind, nay golf". I suppose in America it's, "Nay alcohol, nay Soccer".

  • Hey thanks for putting this up Gyorgi! I'm in this clip and I've been trying to find it on Channel 7 news website but it's not there. Way to save the day!

  • ugh did this idiot just say "overtime"....

  • Dumb@ss, a 4 minute overtime?!?...what an @sshat that uninformed news reporter!

  • im not a big fan of soccer and im actually latin. Ive lived here in the US basically all my life and i guess you can say U.S made me a american football and basketball fan but every time the world cup comes around its so special. An with the US playing so well considering they took 2 goals away from us i guess the US is also becoming fans at least temporarily......U.S. loves winners......

  • They call it soccer in Australia too!

  • @tamerlanenj And also in New Zealand. But officially they're now calling it football in both countries. However...if you ask the man on the street, it's soccer.

Football in NZ is rugby union.

And football in Australia (Queensland and New South Wales) it's rugby league. And in the rest of Australia, football is Aussie Rules.

  • @tamerlanenj And in the host nation South Africa!

  • @tamerlanenj fuck astralia the dont know what football is the real football

  • @tamerlanenj and in canada

  • @tamerlanenj And South Africa! And in England where the word came from!

  • @tamerlanenj yes sir, the SOCCEROOS!

  • @tamerlanenj thats because in australia they call football what is known as rugby

  • @zaneps151 Rugby is a completely different sport

  • @Tbirds2012 rugby and american football arent the same sport

i know and i was saying what football is considered in australia

thts why some people call rugby australian football

  • @zaneps151 oh, sounded different before. Thanks for clearing that up.

  • @tamerlanenj shut up faggot its football

  • Comment removed

  • @tamerlanenj Not no more, they realised the error of their ways :)

  • hèhè finally in USA they start to see why Football (Don't say soccer in Europe) is the most famous sport all over the world. I guess the only reason most American's don't like it, is because it's two times 45 minutes. That's we too long for most of you guys ;). In other sports you can put breaks in every 5 minutes, in football it's inpossible.

  • @Thijs024 Collegiate basketball consist of two halves but that is not the reason why Americans do not like soccer.

  • @Thijs024 The reason most Americans don't take to football is the amount of influence one official has over the entire 90+ minutes. We had two goals taken from us that ultimately was two minutes away from prevented us from getting out of our group. That's why most Americans don't care. None of our sports let the officials have that much control over the outcome.

  • @BGarrett5795 yea, youre pretty wrong. NFL with pass interference, roughing passer, holding. There's been plenty of games. NBA was proven to have that occur with donaghey. Baseball? LOL.

  • @deucelittle And when has holding or pass interference resulted in the team playing with one less man? One referee dictates the outcome of a game with one split-second decision about a player "flopping". And to say that has nothing to do with it, is to say you haven't been watching the major media outlets opinions preceding the start of this World Cup, which have been (mostly) about officiating.

  • @BGarrett5795 I can think of the Florida and Arkansas game off the top of my head. If you don't know what I'm talking about look it up.

  • @BGarrett5795 you're totally wrong. that has NOTHING to do with it at ALL.

  • @BGarrett5795 that's a lie, you think billions of people like that?... the thing is that most sports in the usa are play by play so sponsors can had a HUGE influence, just think in the superbowl and hoy important is to place products... football is a really CHEAP sport, you just need 1 ball for 22 guys, compare it to baseball, or american football. the truth is that other sports give EASY money, football is huge and can give millions, but is hard to be in a great level

  • @deraickripper International football is not "cheap" at all. Real Madrid and Manchester United are two of the most profitable sports franchises in the world. And I don't know what you are referring to when you say "easy money" or "hard to be in a great level".

  • @BGarrett5795

is easy to stay with sports were you can put publicity every 15 minutes, while football leagues need YEARS AND YEARS to build, for exemple mexico and chile. you need the public (something that you can have the first 10 years) and you need the sponsors.. and exemple of cheap,i'm from south america EVERY school has a soccer team, but in my country american footbal gear is WAAAAY too expensive

  • @deraickripper th real reason way the states aren't the best country in the world in football (as they are in almsot everything you can find) is couse you can win way more in baseball or other sports. while in europe football is a godlike job and in south america is the dream of EVERY MALE

  • YEah nice celebration! :) I´m really happy for USA.

  • Holy Cow, what a goal , what agony and sweet relief.. no bigger stage , no bigger drama!! I hope everyone who watched this game in America now knows why Football has the greatest emotions!! ..WOW ! //tell everyone 8)

  • lmao this is great. i saw the footage of the reaction in seattle and other bars, all looked exactly like this lol. good too see people excited about soccer here. good sports summer i live in chicago and we were crazy about the blackhawks and the stanley cup now we got USA and soccer <3
