  • Thats some serious slapping Jason!!

  • that's that black man bass lol xD

  • Profesionels. And that lead guitar. Owsome.

They are playing as from the late 60,ties. Chicago is in my top 10!

And that lead guitar ... In the row of Blackmore, Page, and Akkerman!

    Enjoy them musik.

  • OMG, THAT BASS!!!!!!

  • Holy shit play that guitar I need more inspiration !!!!!

  • YEAH !!!!!

  • Im happy, they will c0ome to mexico very very soonnn!

  • @ranitaclau lets hope they make it out alive.

  • you just have to love the whole sexiness of this song...they all play so well together and harmonize so great together and you can see and hear their chemistry.

  • That Bass playing is impressive, the whole song is t i g h t

  • hot shit

  • They use the horn parts in such an awesome way.. Pure genius

  • Two people missing here. Terry and Peter. I was like 2 or 3 when Terry died, But Terry's lead is far superior to anyone else. No disrespect though. This guy did great but he's no Terry. I wish Cetera would take that chip off his shoulder and rejoin the band. It would fuckin great to see him perform with Chicago again!

  • Barack Obama should sing this

  • This song does stand the test of time and the fact that every citizen of Chicago has played lead guitar at least once for this song and in concert mind you! Well everyone except Mayor Daley and Oprah.

  • definitivamente la mejor version es la que tocaron en 1979 sin restarle meritos a esta...

  • yes, Keith is great on this solo, He really rocks, I´m a huge Howland fan^^, can´t wait to see them soon...

  • what does it matter if the two songs sound alike. they are both awesome and they are not exactly the same

  • I love the guitar solo. Im kinda new to chicago but they are one of my dads favorite bands. i really like em

  • @tysweetdrums Thats Keith Howland on guitar ;-) He is awesome!

  • @tysweetdrums They are one of my dad's favorites too. I think all kids should be lucky enough to have dads with good musical taste.

  • I hate the fact that a search engine brings us to this clip because someone mentions Dwayne in their comments. He's not even in the video!!

  • scdarrow is correct, "Babe, I'm gonna leave you" was written in the late '50s and adapted & performed by LZ in '69. I wouldn't go as far as to say the brilliant Robert Lamm ripped them off though. It's like saying D. Bailey is ripping off Eddie Van Halen...sounds similar but it's not. My problem is with Cosmo Kramer singing this song!

  • wow its the only guitar solo that i like in live versions

  • Love Chicago but guitar is complete rip off of the middle of Zeppelins Babe I'm Gonna Leave You. HA!

  • the song "Babe i'm gonna leave you" was never released to the public on a record and was performed for the first time live in march of '69 and this song was released in august of '69... did they really get an entire album together in 4 months?? i dont think so ... ur an idiot and think before you speak or act... research is not that taxing....

  • What the hell are you talking about!? Babe I'm gonna leave You came out on Zep self titled debut in 69. 25 or 6 to 4 came out in 70. Do the math.

  • Im not saying it is a rip off of zep but this song was recorded it 69 while babe and the rest of led zeppelin was recorded in 68. Led zeppelin was release in january 69. They toured in scandanavia in 68 too. And they actually recorded the whole album in 30 hours And they had some gigs in copenhagen and stockholm under the name the new yardbirds. Lol reasearch is not that taxing.... hypocrite much??

  • @lsdman14 Good i hope it is a rip off of Zeppelin's Babe Im Gonna Leave you. Then the all might rip off kings aka Zeppelin will know how it feels to have a song ripped off. Actually Babe Im Gonna Leave You was written by Anne Breadon. So once again we have another Zeppelin song that was ripped off

  • Kieth can play but Terry was far better technically and a much better showman. The best Chicago ax man will always be Dwayne Bailey. Dwayne was/is a virtuoso - there is no comparison in skills with other Chicago gutarist - NONE! Its not even debatable. Bailey is in the company of Hendix, Satrianti, Stevie Ray , Jimmy Page, Steve Vai, Gary Moore, Frank Zappa and Eric Johnson - thats my top ten with notable mention to Steve Howe, Trevor Rabin and pehaps Clapton.

  • don´t forget Steve Lukather, he´s the man^^, but Keith is in that company too, look at his playing! that says all

  • Listen up!!!! I suggest that anybody here who is a real Chicago fan from way back I'm talking about the original band should definitely get their hands on the remastered live 4 cd set of Chicago live at Carnegie Hall (Rhino)... it is just absolutely great...

  • best guitarplayer ever i think...awesome solo man

  • Guy's I can't believe Chicago is around Forty years old , the Brass section I believe are original members (?) , and of course the material is timeless , having a Chicago fest here . Don't you just love finding these gems on YouTube !!!!

  • Agreed! Keith does wonderful work on this and all the others[songs]as well. Jason and he are the best guitarists since Terry Kath's premature death, Cetera's sudden departure. Think that's why they've all remained together from 1995 to this day-and touring. Hope they CONTINUE to tour for a long, long time. Both guys-along w/Tris,BC and the'Core Four' ;-) seem very mellow, with an even temperament and wonderful dispositions. When touring that's almost as important as having a great talent.

  • This is awesome! How cool is Keith?!? Now drag BC off of his B-3 bench and throw him into the mix, and we have some real rockin' goin' on! So much fun!!!

  • That's the smartest thing I've read all week!!

  • Keith is one of the greatest guitarplayer I ever heard, hope that they will play for a long time!

  • Think Keith came into his own on this song/tour. What a solo! Can really hear Jason play that bass as well as sing. Thanks for posting!

  • that's probably the best performance of that song I've seen since Scheff started bogarting the mic

  • wow the bass part during the solo is impressive! he even snuck in some slapping :)

  • amazing solo

  • Really great Guitar-solo Keith. I am impressed by these guitar arts...boaahhhhh...

  • agreed. In my opinion Keith has played more Terry Kath like solos than any other of Chicago's guitarist. Not to degrade their talent, but Keith sticks to the original sound.

  • i watched this concert in nippon budokan. it was great! thanks for posting.

  • is walt playing tenor in this one?

  • Awesome guitar play, Keith Howland.

  • That kicked some ass!

  • Ha, look at Walt flapping his wings at the beginning.

Great vocals by Jason Scheff. Simply awesome guitar work by Keith Howland. I also love the horns at the end of the guitar solo.

And Chicago STILL rocks like that!

  • Actually, I was there. very powerful and great performance. Thanks for posting this video.
