9% Business tax is way lower than the 15%-35% it is now, less revenue there.

9% income tax is "the same for most Americans" according to Cain, but a big discount for the people at 20% or 30% income tax now. That's less revenue.

So how does Cain pay for Social Security and defense?

Ah yes, a 9% ADDITIONAL tax on gasoline, cigarettes, food, clothing, your house, your car, and everything else you buy new.

Can you really go for that?

@AlucardS9 .....actually I can go for that because in the Chicago area we're paying almost 10% on those items. Figure I pay 34% of my salary in taxes; on top of that we have 5% state income tax; top that with 10% sales tax on the majority of the things you buy. 9-9-9 sounds like a better alternative to me that the current plan Uncle Sam has in place.

@AlucardS9 Personally, I don't buy new cars or houses, I buy them used. I would think the so-called green movement would embrace this plan. Since it only taxes new items, it encourages reuse, instead of a disposable society.
