  • Where's the a in the name?

  • @Halomaster261 This isn't the Enterprise-A. It's a CGI model of the Enterprise from Star Trek: The Motion Picture. That ship was destroyed in Star Trek III and the crew didn't get the new ship until the end of Star Trek IV.

  • mega sweet!

  • @unitruth Thanks! Glad you enjoyed it!

  • Beautiful! The TMP refit is my favorite Enterprise other than the original. Nice work!

  • @tjhaywood100 Thanks! I'm glad you liked it. This version of the "Big E" is my favorite. I appreciate that you took the time to leave a comment.

  • how long did it take to make Her? I really Like it! is it open for public use?

  • @thecopykidofthestarz It took me about a month to put her together from start to finish, then a few extra days to tweak the material maps. I haven't released it for public use mainly because it's really not very accurate and there are much, much better versions of the ship available already. This one's a bit outdated now as well, but if I ever get around to building a new one I'll put it out there for people to have fun with. Thanks for writing!

  • @buckaroohawk Do you have this in a higher resolution?

  • @8181Stephen No, I'm afraid I don't...at least not anymore. Somewhere along the line my CDs with hi-res versions of many of my YouTube videos went MIA. I've looked everywhere but can't find them. If I do come across them someday, I will let you know. Thanks for wariting!

  • It's wonderful!! :)

  • @JediMasterClark Thank you very much. I'm happy you enjoyed the video. Thanks for writing!

  • good job :p

    very nice one

  • @Pokasmax Thanks! I'm glad you liked it.

  • Good work man, very slick

  • Thank you very much!

  • Thanks for sharing the NCC-1701 refit has always been "my" starship.

    Great job.

  • She's my favorite as well. There isn't a bad angle on this version of the "Big E." I'm glad you liked the video. Thanks for writing.

  • Bet you won't model the inside though.

  • Actually, I have modeled the VIP Lounge in the saucer, the Arboretum in the secondary hull, and both the TMP and Trek V versions of the Hangar Deck since I made this mesh. I just haven't had time to create any videos featuring them. Thanks for writing!

  • well, I look forward to an update then

  • I use a 3D animation program called 3D Studio MAX. It's used to build, light, and animate CGI models. Many of the FX you see in movies are made with this program. Search for it here on YouTube and you'll find a lot of examples of what the program can do. Thanks for writing!

  • Very sweet!!! Nice job!

  • Thanks! I appreciate it!

  • Bravo!!!!! Thank-you.

  • Thank You!!!!! and you're welcome.

  • Beautiful ship.

  • She is a beauty. Glad you enjoyed it. Thanks for writing.

  • Nice job. Next you sould try doing other generations from the NX-1 enterprise to the enterprise E and mabey if you can find the enterprise J that would be awsome.

  • I am thinking of rendering a video showcasing all of the ships from the NX-01 through the new movie, but I have some other projects to finish first. Glad you enjoyed this one, and thanks for writing.

  • Ditto. Don't care for the latest iteration of Enterprise I saw at the movies over the week end much at all.

  • I actually like the design from the new movie myself, but nothing compares to Kirk's ship from the TOS movies. Thanks for writing!

  • This was the best Starship Enterprise ever.

  • It's my favorite design as well. Glad you enjoyed the video. Thanks for writing!

  • nice modeling.....

  • Thanks!

  • Very awesome model and maps. My only crit would be the flatness on the botanical gardens windows. It's a very small complaint in an otherwise fantastic job. I'm currently in the middle of modeling Voyager, so I can appreciate the amount of time that went into yours.

  • I've since fixed the problem with the botanical windows, which were a bother to me as well. Very astute of you to notice the glitch. Most people never even see it.

Thank you for the compliments and good luck on your Voyager project.

  • Very good!

  • Many thanks!

  • The Enterprise refit (and 1701-A) was the Constitution Class fully realized... though starships to come would exceed it in size and power, its elegant good looks are hard to beat. This and the Excelsior are tied for my favorite Trek ships, with the Sovereign Class Enterprise-E coming in 2nd. Great job on this!

  • I agree with you, except that the Enterprise-E is my second favorite, with the Excelsior coming in 3rd. I'm glad you enjoyed the video. Thanks very much for writing!

  • Hey this is nice... its a great model. I agree with you about the Constitution Refit being (with the Excelsior) one of the most graceful and beutiful of the Fedships, which is why i wrote 'A Tale Of Two Galaxies' in this time period. Check it out, and see what you think of my USS Hood! keep up the good work! Phil

  • Thanks for the kind words! And I will take a look at your stuff. Thanks for writing!

  • Pretty cool, if you made that yourself... my favorite Enterprise of them all. I remember the early days of computers in the 80's,and thinking how cool it would be to have a shot of the Enterprise (exactly like this one)on the computer instead of tiny one dimensional green blips, and maybe one day it would be possible, LOL. And now, here we are. Nice video.

  • This version of the Enterprise is my favorite as well. And I did build this baby all by myself, and it was quite a bit tougher than I thought it would be. Lots of tiny details and odd angles that taxed my patience. I'm glad you enjoyed the video. Thanks for writing.

  • really nice job

  • Thank you very much!

  • aaaa the enterprise the most covited ship in all of the star trek universe. simply to serve on her is every cadets dream. to be captain of her, to add your name to famous ones like kirk and piccard. well done, you've made the fanboys proud.

  • I appreciate the kind words. Thank you very much.

  • Yep - pretty good effort overall. Well done.

  • Thanks! I appreciate it.

  • Really good video. Brilliant. I like it!!

  • Thank you very much!

  • very cool :)

  • Thanks!

  • nice good job

  • Thank you, sir. I appreciate it.

  • this woulda been perfect if u hadn't sped up the music it sounds better slowed down IMO

  • I didn't do anything to the music at all. It plays here exactly as it does on the CD I took it from. It doesn't sound fast to me at all.

Anyone else think the music doesn't sound right?

  • nice job!

  • Thanks!

  • oh lol, round...i thought ud make it go in n show rooms, holadeck, bridge, lifts etc lol

  • In this case "around" meant "around the outside." Sorry if you were misled. Hope you enjoyed it, though.

  • All this TMP stuff turning up left right and centre! Brilliant! Completely Brilliant!

  • Thank you! The TMP Enterprise is my favorite design. Glad you enjoyed this. Thanks for writing!

  • Awesome job first of all!! I did notice the lighting around the top of the defector and around the torpedo launchers is a little off.

  • Good catch. Those lights were a bit off, and have since been fixed. I'm glad you liked the video. Thanks for writing!

  • My beloved ship.....

  • She is a beauty. Easily the best of all the Enterprise designs. Thanks for writing!

  • Verry Verry good best iv seen in a long time

  • Thank you verry much! I'm glad you liked it.

  • Pretty good except the neck spotlights are too far forward and the red and green lights on the ventral section do not exist on the physical model.

  • Now that's what I call keen observation! I did move the dorsal spotlights forward a bit and add red and green running lights where I thought they'd be appropriate. You're the first to mention noticing them. Thanks for writing!

  • No problem. I posted a video response if you wanna allow it.

  • Consider it allowed! Wow! I haven't built a physical model in many, many years. Yours is simply beautiful. Nice to know there are still craftsmen like you out there.

  • That is NICE!!!

  • Thank YOU!!!

  • Brilliant. Its By Far the best Model I've ever seen....Accept for that Andromada one i found a while back....LAMO. Anyways, By Far the Best CGI Enterprsie I've Ever Seen.

  • Thank you very much! It was a lot of work, but I'm very proud of how she turned out. I'm glad you liked the video. Thanks for writing!

  • What was the Andromeda one mate, I haven't seen a decent Andromeda video yet?

  • very good animation. i would like to learn some of that sort of CAD myself instead of the rubbish taught by my school. anyway hate to spoil the good tone here so thanks 10 out of 10

  • Thanks for writing, Gorphoz. I appreciate it. I hope you find a 3D program to your liking. Best of luck!

  • 0:37 to the end was the best.

  • People do seem to really like that final pass before the ship flies off. Thanks for writing!

  • Sweet! Amazing animation

  • Thatnk you very much. I'm glad you enjoyed it.

  • Wow that was a truly realistic model :) You must have much free time on your hands if you're making such things as hobby . I am doing some Star Trek Enterprise oriented videos so you can check my profile if you want to see some more animations made from ground-up and not that modded games crap that everyone is posting here :) And again , awesome vid .

  • I don't have nearly as much free time as you might think. It takes a long time for me to build these models, but I really enjoy doing it. I'm not a big fan of the game-mod videos either, but I've seen a few that are quite good. Thanks for taking the time to write.

  • Thanks for posting! Very cool...

  • Glad you liked it, Cruiser. Thanks for writing!

  • Thank you! This video was inspired by those scenes in TMP. I'm glad you enjoyed it. Thanks for writing!

  • she is a grand old lady

  • Absolutely! An elegant and simple design. I love working with this model. Every animation turns out great. I'm glad you liked the video. Thanks for writing!

  • you are sooooo talented. i hope to see more of your work. thanks for the tribute.

  • Thank you very much for the kind words. I really appreciate it. Glad you liked the video.

  • Awesome model.

The music is from The Motion Picture, right?

  • Thanks for the compliment. The music is from The Motion Picture. it's my favorite Trek movie score. Thanks for writing!

  • Very nice!

  • Thanks! I appreciate it.

  • Nice , Great Watching

  • Glad you liked it. Thanks for writing!

  • Wow, that was terrific.

  • Thank you very much. I appreciate it, and thanks also for writing!

  • Say, thats a mighty fine mesh you got there... where'd ya get it??? Cool vid too. 5/5

  • he made it in 3d max

  • oh yea, i guess i could have read that... owell, nice, takes talent to make these things

  • Thanks for the compliment, billywarp1. And thank you for answering his first question, nickrohn93. I'm glad you liked the videos!

  • Unfortunately, 3DS Max is not a free program, but you might be able to download a free demo version. I suggest a Google search for 3D Studio Max. Good luck, and thanks for writing!

  • You know what they say..."the devil is in the details." I'm glad you liked the video. Thanks for writing!

  • Actually, if you look at photos of the physical model used for filming, you'll see that the Starfleet arrowhead logo is on its side, not upright. The red pennant stripes that run along the sides of the secondary hull start at the lower points of the arrowhead.

  • Absolutely outstanding! I wish I had 1/10th of your skill!

  • Thank you, fixman! If you do CGI work yourself, keep at it. I'm always learning how to make my scenes better. Thanks for writing!

  • Amazing

  • Thanks, Jeff! I'm really glad you liked it. Thanks much for writing!

  • I think Scotty would be immensely pleased.

  • Thank you, sir. I can only hope to do Scotty, Matt Jeffries, and Andrew Probert justice to their fine work. Thanks for writing.

  • Yeah I'm extremely jealous of your skills. Its amazing that a fan can create visuals vastly beyond anything the original show could have produced.

  • Thanks, pepe. Believe me, no one is more surprised than I am when one of my animations turns out well. Technology is really stunning sometimes, isn't it?

  • amazing :D

  • Thanks! I appreciate the comment. Thanks for taking the time to write!

  • this is great work.model, textures, lighting all very good.

  • Thanks! I'm always tweaking things to make them look better. I'm glad you liked it. Thanls for writing!

  • just outstanding! the only quibble i have with this is that there isnt enough light on the parts of the ship that are shadowed by the saucer. They always (in the movies at least) give enough natural light so that the whole ship is lit most of the way at least so we can see it without shadows. This is your best one yet!

  • Youtube broadcasts videos somewhat dark. When I watch the original on my computer, the shadows aren't that deep. Thanks for the compliment, and for writing!

  • Excellent!! Brilliant. How many hours of work did that model take?

  • I've never charted actual hours on a build before, but it took me about six weeks to get it to this point. Thanks for asking, I'll have to remember to do that in the future. Glad you liked the video.

  • Wonderful !!!

  • Thank you, Mr. Bond. I'm glad you liked it.

  • Awesome! Love that closing shot!

  • Thank you, kind sir. I have it on good authority that the closing shot is fond of you as well.
