Why do you use automatic. Manuel is so much better because of the boost.

Oh, Automatic definitely has its advantages. I found myself winning a lot more races when I tried Automatic for the first time.

While you no longer have Mini-Turbo boosts, you can take turns a lot tighter in Automatic than you would in Manual. You can also dodge items easier when you're turning, since the angle you're powersliding makes you vulnerable to Red Shells. Some vehicles are also designed for Automatic, such as the Jetsetter.

Automatic drifting is basically designed around the Wii Wheel. It's a lot larger than a control stick, so you can steer very precisely with it.

Thanks for the info ! I started experimenting with it yesterday and my performance was really improving thanks to it. (I use Wii Wheel)

The general rule is this: use Automatic with the Wii Wheel and use Manual with a control stick. There are exceptions, of course, but Automatic is a lot better than people make it out to be.

You know, on the weekend of the Creative Cup, I could've been in Sunday's races using my Mii of Barack Obama. It's just that if I got the game, we would would have no money to get a cake for my little brother's birthday (he turned 7 on Tuesday). So I had to say the game can wait. Lyra has quite an aggressive personality, according to the book. I constructed her Mii just for this game, because I'm rather heartless when it comes to racing.

However, I have discovered that using the Wii Wheel (instead of my traditional Wii Remote+Nunchuk) calms me down considerably. I have no idea how though.

gah Mushroom Gorge, as usual things are going great then the last turn I get hit left right and center meaning i get 10th

Meh. And so starts Sunday's disaster. Mushroom Gorge was a perfect example of "wrong place, wrong time". So many items I got were inappropriate for the place I was in. Everyone behind me got better items that sped them up, so I was passed.

Both times I got a Mega Mushroom, in Mushroom Gorge and Coconut Mall, someone used Lightning to stop it. At first, I figured it was okay since I was still faster than everyone, but when you're regular size, you're just as vulnerable as if you were small.

Too bad about all those stray green shells flying around at the end of Coconut Mall, though. I hate when that happens.
