@xXSweetxNightmareXx I love rats, more than dogs actually, but I wouldn't compare their mental abilities. A rat trained may be able to open the door (yay, cool!), but a dog can be trained to so many more things, and they are smarter in general. (Not saying there are no dumb dogs, of course.)

On the contrary, I got two girls, sisters. He was very loving, extremely smart, and was the BEST pet and friend I ever could have had. The only downside to rat ownership is their very short lifespan, it's very hard when you lose your friend.

They have never bitten me and have never bitten any one I've introduced them to. My young nieces play with them all the time. They are not nasty at all. My parents' dog bites me all the time, a cat I once had bit me a few times, but my rats, give me nothing but kisses. They give lick kisses just like dogs do. Hope this helps.

ALL Dogs are more stupid than rats. Dogs are just dumb, they take a stick and want to run trough the door, but they crash all the time on the frame. A rat would learn, that they can't go like this through a little hole or something, they would recognize really fast, that they have to hold it different.
