This should be it..... 1. R. Henderson LF 2. Collins 2B 3. Simmons RF 4. Foxx 1B 5. Jackson DH 6. Baker 3B 7. Cochrane C 8. ??? CF 9. Campaneris SS If you got a CF let me know.
I would have put (3) Foxx 3rd, (9) Jackson 4th, and (25) McGwire 5th. Jackson strikes out too much to bat 3rd, and McGwire has too few career RBI's to bat cleanup. Foxx is better at hitting for average compared to McGwire, Jackson and Canseco.
Rotation would be: (27) Hunter, (14) Blue, (75) Zito, (15) Hudson, and (20) Mulder.
(34) Fingers would set up for (43) Eckersley who will close.
Ummm....Why is Sal Bando playing third if this is an All Time A's team????? Frank Baker is the greatest third sacker in the organization and holds quite a few club records along with Foxx, Alonyius Simmons and Cochrane. You need to redo this montage big time. Either call it an All Time Athletics team or change it to a true All-Time OAKLAND ATHLETICS lineup.
You can not, make that SHOULD not, describe this as a montage of the greatest Oakland Athletics - not when you list four players who were never OAKLAND Athletics (Collins, Foxx, Cochrane & Plank). All good players, I'm sure, but never in Oakland. Try Catfish Hunter, Vida Blue, Rollie Fingers Joe Rudi, etc etc., or, change your description to be accurate.
it pisses me off as an A's fan how many more people see reggie jackson as a yankee, cuz of the 3 homeruns in the world series, tho he spent most of his carrer in oakland and won 3 here the same for mark mcgwire im a big bimac fan tho most most fans just know him as the 62-70 homerun guy from st.louis, instead of the 49 hr rookie of the year and great oakland first baseman.LETS GO OAK-LAND!!!!!
Relief pitcher would have to be Rollie and its sure hard to leave Catfish off the starting pitcher. How about Herb Washington as designated runner?

Eddie Plank was great, but over Chief Bender and Lefty Grove??

Jimmie Foxx was way better than McGuire. hit over 500 HRs in early part of 20th century, when that was an almost Herculean feat. And did it legally

I can agree with a lot of this, but I'd put Canseco-Jackson-McGwire 3-4-5, and Catfish Hunter pitching.

Oops...that is first time I've noticed that. I meant to put Reggie Jackson in left field.
Thank you.

This would have been more fun if it was about the OAKLAND A's, not all time Athletics. Such as Catfish on the mound.
