When you get a call, the sim just notifies the phone, and the phones sets off a ring. The processor is faster in the iPod touch.The iPhone3G is 412mhz and the 2nd gen iPod is 532mhz. The 3GS is 600 mhz. The iPhone 4 is about 800mhz-1ghz, but it's unknown. It's supposedly varies speed upon usage. That's probably why the battery lasts forever.

First of all only the 32gb and 64 gb ipod touch are the real 3g ipod touch, they bring the same specs as the iphone 3gs. the ipod touch is defenetly going to be faster then an iphone because the iphone has more things running like the 3g network and other stuff.

iphone 3g/ipod touch 8gb and 16gb specs:128mb of ram and 412mhz processor

iphone 3gs/ ipod touch 32gb and 64gb:256mb of ram and 600mhz processor
