THe Black and Tans were also very helpful too weren't they when they brutalised Irish lads when 'controlling' the irish, who were thought by the British to be worthless and not worth having any humane treatment. Likes anybody it or not, but, for my opinion, Francis Hughes was a very brave man. He became a legendary figure like Robin Good or Cuchulain, otherwise nobody created songs about him! Behind any myth there's a grain of true, and the true behind this legend is that he gamed as a cockerel although he knew he's defeated! He had a wild unconquerable soul of lion.
