  • at 1:26 gilbert and vai should put their guitars down...

  • Andy Timmons just took a huge dump on Vai and Gilbert.....gilbert did his three note per string licks as usual, vai did his useless whammy antics and timmons ripped a hybrid scale with light speed fusion....

  • stop smoke

  • Paul Gilbert y Steve Vai tienen sexo y Andy Timmons se toca solo.....u.u

  • I love Andy Timmons,

Hes not as well known as Vai, Gibert, Satch, Petrucci etc

and when he jams with them, people are like who is he and there then like

......fuck me!!!!! when they see him play.

  • Andy timmons all the way, he just sound amazing.

  • AND, during the first note Steve plays at 2:21, one of the strings breaks! Good job, considering. haha

  • i-banez lol

  • song?

  • @Benjax11 The Kinks-all day and all of the night

  • oh my what a wank fest! long live the talent of paul gilbert!

  • druns>>3:18 kk

  • are they plugging a company or something? I can't really tell

  • Wow, a wank-a-thon!!!!!!!

  • thnx just like the medoly

  • what is the name of this song?

  • @chien12b89 This is ''All day and all of the night'' by The kinks...

    but with stupid lyrics

  • three of theam are great ... a classy playing ... each improvitation is unique and of different style ...

  • .....and the winner is..... IBANEZ GUITARS...

  • speak english or die!!!!

  • lucky for Vai he had the trem stop on that guitar! if not the whole solo would definitly been SO out of tune!

  • andy by far

  • Andy is the best and fast technical and has a sound beautiful

  • They're all great. Andy Timmons won this round though...

  • Sim, Mas A Galera Só Os Guitarristas... A Galerinha la De Tras ,Mandam MUITOO tbm #

  • late curt cobain cant perfome this song better......

  • steve vai funny kidding with gitar €€¬¬

  • After I watched this, I closed my mouth and wondered why the fuck haven't I ever heard of Andy Timmons :O

  • que diabos aconteceu com a guitarra do steve vai que ele presisou trocar? problema eletronico? respondao aew!

  • @PerdroYouRock7 Quebrou a corda. Por isso ele usou apenas a corda SI pra solar.

  • @alasemard nossa que imcopetencia do karai oloco =0

  • @alasemard como vc sabe? se isso for verdad tipo o kara é muito mostro só presisa de uma corda pra regassar kk

  • 2:22 Vai has problems with his string that cause he can not solo good enought

  • Vai's solo... so horrible

  • What happened to Vai's guitar that made him switch? Isn't that why he just died down towards the end of his solo? String break?

  • Vai's solo sucks

  • WHAT SONGS IS TIS?

  • man Timmons blasts Vai and Gilbert off the stage

  • @woodysmith63 youve got to be joking right?

  • whats the name of the original song?

  • Plus Joe Satriani on Bass.. 1:37

  • Mr Gilbert looks like a Hippie haha

  • andy was the best!!

  • O.O

  • shame Vai broke a string at the beginning of the solo, still he managed to make a solo on the b string alone sound pretty epic

  • They all bring such unique styles to the table. My vote goes to Andy just for the musical choice of melody and feel. Simon Philips is so damn good!

  • paul puts speed, andy feel, and vai..... vai..

  • steve = spacy and super melodic...great!!!!

andy = bluessyrock and fuckin super awesome!!!!!!

paul = too metal for me but soooooo good!!

    rock on.....!!!!

  • paul gilbert :)

  • Vai is Boss, Andy and Paul will tell you.

  • @44SuperShredder jaja idiot... vai is deaf like you

  • I had to go get the oxygen tank... Couldn't breathe! Awesome, I love Andy Timmons, what a great phenominal guitarist. Great to see him up there with two legends, thats where he belongs

  • vai has to swap his jem because there shite the bridge is way to sensitive you touch it and its out of tune he even said that however gilberts pgm is far better quility

  • id say the drummer wins......haha though i love paul gilbert than the other two hehehe

  • This is officially a tie.......but I gotta mention, Paul is a really good singer, I've heard him sing all types of songs, and he has a really solid voice

  • All of this guitarists have experience in the things they did in their whole past.

So it doesnt make any sense to say that one is better than the other or something else.

    Think about it.

  • "versus"? Who won? What's the score? :|

  • Andy Timmons Groove Or Die !!

    Tender Surrender Steve Vai !!!

    Paul Gilbert Scarified !!!

    (The order doesnt matter)

  • and the winner is...SLASH!!! rofl jk.

  • This was [bleeping] incredible.

  • i'd say Paul wins, because of his cool, out of tune singing .. . Just kidding. Andy owns here. But i like Paul more. .. Do't have to say much bout Vai :)

  • it appears no-one realises that Vai breaks a string at the very start of his solo..

l think Timmons owns but Vai recovered brilliantly

  • We could bicker for days about which guitarist has better feeling, tone, or whatever.

But Timmons is hands-down the most underrated.

    :(

  • It's unfair for the bassist. he's the only one who didn't get solo.! lol

  • Andy Timmons owns this one

  • 2:07 lick is incredible...

  • I love Andy's playing.....

  • thats marco minnemann on the drums right ?

  • @MikeZehdnicker

Dont know; I was thinking it was Simon Phillips?? Anyone out there know?

  • frankly speaking i do think steve and timmons are a great guitarist but i like gilbert more coz i like the way he play it, but anyway all of them r my fav guitarist

  • 9 people like justin beaver...

  • 4:42 Steve Vai's mind: "Yeah, yeah alright that's enough. Get your hands off my whammy bar..."

  • This is the best commercial I have ever seen.

  • a variant of G3?

  • vs?

  • 3:31 it's like a guitars lie a guitar orgi

  • horrible just horrible al tree this is just who sucked the most answer: paul that voice it didn't inpress me lets say that

  • @EmmaThomson2 ohh!!.... oh no!!!!!... ohh!!! im sorry three of the best most musically and technically tallented guitarists in the world didn't measure up to you!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • @claytonkillsyou i didn't say theyr not good i love them all three i wach vai 100 times a day i just say this preformance didn't do it for me that's all

  • how many guitarists does it take to screw in a light bulb?

ten-- one to actually screw it in, and nine to say "i could do that better."

  • andy timmons it under rated hes godly

  • the audience won

  • those three guys are amazing in their performance.

  • what did steve vai do in this video?

  • @marty492 he broke a string, thats why he had to switch guitars.

  • i think yngview won!

  • paul is my favorite guitarist but he could rip licks from his instructional videos and people would drool over it. Andy however.... is uh-fuckin-mazing

  • ヴァイすげーwww

  • I'm naturally biased toward Gilbert and all three are legends but didn't anyone notice that at around 2:21 Steve Via loses a string when he starts his solo?... and still goes on with the show... and does admirably well!

Watch it again and you will see it (for all of you who are simply trying to pit talent against talent). All three of these guys are simply brilliant guitar players.

    'Nuff said

  • Damn, Andy!

  • I try to enjoy every player for what they are and what they contribute. comparisons are so childish

  • this andy timmons is reeaally good...

  • PG will always be my hero.

I love Andy Timmons for his soulful playing.

And i'm not really the biggest Vai fan although he is good.

    =)

  • nah nah Prince would own them all!!

  • To me paul is by far the best in here, but i gotta give this one to andy, that was amazing

  • Paul stills PAWNS THEM!!!

  • i just smashed my guitar after watching this

  • @thecrippler1100 ME TOO!!!!HAHAHAH!

  • Wow Andy ROCKS as usual so as Paul and Steve......magical show!

  • why cant music still be like this 2 day :(

  • andy timmons is a beast of a player and i think he was holding back so he does not make vai and gilbert look bad!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Paul Gilbert is way out in front

  • 1.Paul

    2.Andy(Yes i mean it0

    3.steve

  • I think Vai SMOKES Timmons in his recorded material (no competition) but here Timmons had a much better solo.

  • @ShredHeadJHJ i disagreee... watch when vai starts his solo.... a string snaps, setting his whole floyde rose (edge zero whatever) out of tune.... and this means his whole guitar goes out of tune...

then he mannages to play a solo thats fairly in tune...

  • @shredfix1993 I think that's my favorite part of this video. That he breaks a string and doesn't even flinch. Breaking strings on those floating bridge guitars is awful.

  • amazing!!! simon philip la rompeeee jajajaja

  • GILBERT

  • what is the name of the song!!!!!!!it is beautiful!

  • @Slash9510 I think it's called All day all night

  • Andy surprised me! Wow.

  • Ah this is very easy to sum up. Steve Vai is the god of all guitarists but Andy Timmons played the best solo on this video by far. Gilbert just sounded like he was having a wank and Vai sounded bored.

  • these guys are the fucking awesome but it still just looks like three guys wanking on a stage lol

  • many people don't even realize Vai's string broke as soon as he started playing his solo :D that's why sucked hard and changed his guitar right after it.. watch.. or look for a better quality version of this

  • HAHA SI SI MUCHO.. xD.. haha

  • i gotta get an ibanez =)

  • If i ever break a string on stage my back up plan is:

Whammy my way out of the song until i can replace the string. Vai's got nerve for picking up that extra guitar.

  • CHE TRIOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO *_*

  • High diddle diddle,

    The Cat and the Fiddle...

  • the drummer played some mike portnoy's accent......

  • paull gilbert ,,, is the best

  • Steve busted his string and cut it short.

That's why he immediately handed off the guitar for another one.

And in my personal opinion, Steve has more Style and Emotion than any other guitar player around today!

And if you ask any of them, they'll all tell you that favorite guitar players is a matter of personal taste.

Arguing over who is better is ridiculous!

  • Steve Vai definately has more emotion.

  • The difference among these three guitarists is that all of them do the same thing good guitar players do, except for one guy: Andy Timmons, he beats Vai and Gilbert for the simple reason that he sounds different, fresh, not doing the same all shit that many players do, Andy`s hands can produce sounds that are far away different. Maybe regular guys can`t notice this sounds, but I as a musician can say that Timmons has a feeling or talent that can`t be matched by Vai or Paul.

  • timmons

  • Comment removed

  • No.Andy Timmons has more feeling than Vai.Listen to "Gone" by Andy Timmons. if you don't agree with me after that, you, sir, are tone deaf.

  • What the hell does feeling mean? You like Andy Timmons more, that's all. Don't tell me there's such thing as "feeling" or "groove" or any of that BS. Music is subjective, he can like dragonforce for all you care, and he still won't be tonedeaf, maybe retarded, but not tonedeaf. Feeling means nothing, you can't even explain what feeling means. When people say feeling, they're just saying they can really relate to what they're listening.

  • Maybe you just have no feeling.Feeling is when the ARTIST is putting everything they've got in that song.Thaat is the meaning of feeling. music is subjective , but dragonforce is all studio speedup.all hype and no feeling. I actually like both players. Vai is better technically , but Andy has better tone and more feeling.

  • So you think Steve Vai doesn't put his everything into every song he plays? Steve Vai is the kind of person that would play guitar for days, just to have gotten to where he is. You have no way of telling me that Andy Timmons has more "feeling" than Steve Vai, absolutely none. I can tell you they both put their hearts and souls into their music. I can tell that because they are phenomenal, and I can see and hear that they put all of their effort into what they play. Not because they have feeling.

  • They both put soul in to their playing , but Andy has more tone , and is more soulful. Vai shreds a lot to get his point across. Andy's phrasing is extremely powerful . I'm done arguing with you , Don't bother replying , I won't.

  • You're a moron. Have a nice life.

  • @AllThingsGuitar You're the moron, koshiaru is the winning one in that argue. C'mon, check out Cry for You with Andy and tell me there is no feeling to it.

Seriously, if you do say that music has no feeling you can't even be a musician.

  • Don't even try that shit, guitar has saved my life, guitar is all I do all day, I LOVE guitar. But, you can't judge "feeling". It pisses me off when people say this because every one of those guitarists on that stage are just as inspired to play guitar as one another. The thing you call feeling is a compilation of a softer tone, bends, and just the overrall style of playing. It's not the Feeling, you can't tell me someone feels guitar more than another because they all fucking breathe guitar.

  • @AllThingsGuitar Wow, I was expecting you to call me a tard. And you just described the style of playing which people refer to as "more full of feeling".

Get a job or something, troll.

  • @AnttilaPK Wow, it lasted that long! You are completely right, I'm only 15, and study guitarists for 5 hours a day, but I can tell where there's feeling and where there's not.

. YOU are the right one here.don't let him tell you different, because he just wants to ramble.Nice example in Cry for You ,by the way!

  • @AllThingsGuitar yeah feeling is when a song make you fell sad or maybe cry like electric tears by buckethead =D

  • @AllThingsGuitar Well said :) Now I just have to convince some of my friends to accept those wise words of you :) I´m tired of all the "feeling" stuff talk too.

"Petrucci there and Satriani there.... But Paul Gilbert? Nooo he´s just a shreder in the crowd :/ "

Paul Gilbert has a amazing feeling if you like him and I like him very much! He´s my biggerst inspiration of all time!

It´s a sense of whom you like that makes a feeling. Sorry about my bad english :P

  • @anttown4ever Thanks for the kind words! I understand completely, because I'm a big fan of everything that is Paul Gilbert aswell, he's not only an amazing guitarist, but he also seems like a really happy and really cool guy, and it hurts me to see everyone saying he's mediocre just because he doesn't put "feeling" into his playing.

  • "you can't tell me someone feels guitar more than another because they all fucking breathe guitar"

How obsessed you are with guitar, how schooled and technically proficient you are, nothing to do with how much feeling you bring to your playing. Some players are extremely cerebral, playing with their forebrains engaged, calculating. Some players are just pure flow, not thinking, just hearing and reacting, guided by feel rather than thought. And some players lie somewhere in between.

  • @ReductioAdAbsurdum Agree with you all these guys have their own unique way of shreddin' their six string and there should be no competition. They are all beasts that they eat and breathe guitars!

  • @AllThingsGuitar

I agree, Steve Vai is a god. He puts everything into his performances, more than most guitar players.

Example = tell me who as a guitar player shows more emotion on their face when playing their songs than Steve Vai. Did you guys not see Where the Wild Things are from 2009. They spent alot of work on that, choreographing and ofcourse, insane talent on all instruments.

    Check it out.

  • @AllThingsGuitar amen brother... i would even say that the confussion relies on steve being a more experimental player (not the cherrypie of everyone) and andy is based on a more melodical bluessy / jazzy vibe... therefore the both fucking awesome in their way...

  • I love the part where steve his string broke, not because it did but just the way they handled with it.

  • steve can keep up hes insane and did anyone notice that during his solo he had a broken string thats y he got a new guitar right away

  • i did seen andy timmons

  • that was poor English or was it a spelling error ?

  • Nice play!

    Each individuality is good.

  • AT100CL+PGM+JEM 7v=3 Ibanez = Perfect !!!

  • Guys you need to understand, even the guy who named this video, its a JAM not a COMPETITION, guitar today is way too competitive. Its not about who's better its about who you like more.

  • @Fendershred50 I-banez and tama drums are the coolest!

  • @Fendershred50 It's about the music...

  • @RickMarr4124 That too lol.

  • @Fendershred50 True, i agree .

But if we must compare them, gilbert is the best that sure.

  • steve vai is too unique and different to play with these dudes haha he cant keep up

  • @trancemajestic Yes he is !!!

  • oh THE GOODS RAPED MY EARS ♫♪ *_*

  • Jeez stop all the bull shitting. Just watch the video maybe people would start acting like adults not 2 yrs olds. I am not gonna say names but GROW UP!!!!

  • all three solo was great....but, the DRUMS own3s...all of them...

  • Comment removed

  • You're jealous you can't play that fast.

  • Jesus christ Steve Vai really is just an Ibanez salesman

  • So are Andy Timmons and Paul Gilbert.

Shut up and enjoy the music.

  • You enjoyed this ?

  • It's better than alot out there.

  • If you think this is a good song I feel sorry for you, its a daft advert its funny and slightly musical at best. 'Shut up and enjoy the music'........ no thanks !
