  • hilarious man ajaja

  • So, you don't want to embaress yourself? Am I right? I really think you have already embaressed yourself quite a bit. Haha, I am one of your fans! And that you don't care weather you embaress yourself is one of the many reasons why I am your fan! #1

  • Its your fault you know. If you hadnt turned on the radio you would never have known they played it on the radio and therefor would still love that song

  • Blackout. As much as i love Breathe Carolina, i am SOOOOO sick of that song!

  • Dynamite, I've Gotta Feeling, Someone Like You, Love Story, Girlfriend...the list goes on...

  • Thumbs up if you heard Friday by Rebecca Black

  • First song on this video was an ad right before I watched the video. "Sail" by Awolnation is on the side. Is someone stalking you, Kaleb?

  • was that friday????????????????? rebaca black

  • @adamanny1234 nooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo..

    yes.

  • Well, your introductory salutation was on the creepy side. However, you get a thumbs up for making a valid point.

  • homeboy by eric church

  • "good" music goes to die on the radio? thank goodness "normal" radio stations dont play metal because metal will never die

  • Kaleb Check out Jack's Mannequinn the're amazing and they remind me of you... actually...

  • so your the type of Texan that complains about everything in other words ... YOUR AN AVERAGE TEXAN xD

  • I personally think video killed the radio star.

  • I have Crazy on my iPod.

  • someone like you -adele.......waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay to overplayed

  • How to kill good music = Kanya West.

  • true true.

  • I pretty much listen to music on youtube because I can't stand most radio stations, although I do like this one XM stations that plays all rock music, rock is my thing:)

  • Anything Adele is waaay to overplayed...

  • ALL SUMMER LONG. Never liked it, but the radio made me loathe it EVEN MOAR :L

  • Same song all the time but I want to know when you will finish hater pay my bills song

  • Hahahahhahah sooo funny. And I totally dig his green/blue eyes

  • my favorite video yet!

  • @ClawOwl WOAH that's like the harshest thing you could have said :S

  • Super Base definitely. also, for all the country fans, Who Says You Can't Go Home. and pretty much all the Sugarland songs as well :P

  • How about "Stereo Hearts" by Adam Levine and Gym Class Heroes?

  • frealz. I want to rip out my hair when Pumped Up Kicks comes on. Good song gone bad. I love all Mumford & Sons songs.. I'm pretty sure that their song "The Cave" was murdered by the radio.

  • lol i feel the same way xD

  • and BTW, I was really sad when radio ruined Rihanna's "Umbrella" for me....

  • I had many actual LOL episodes while watching this. Really funny Kaleb!

  • those first two songs are very overplayed. Sexy and I Know It is the worst.

  • Adele Rolling in the Deep/ Someone Like You

  • @kalebnation Which AWOLNATION song is your favorite, Kaleb? I think my top 5 favs are "Sail," "Kill Your Heroes," "Soul Wars," and--oh look, something shiny!

(Blame it on my ADD, baby. :P)

  • i agree! >-< sexy and i know it is the worst of them all x-x

  • yes! im not the only one who thinks good music dies on the radio!!

  • Dude at xmas its the worst, its the same 4 songs over and over and over and over and over -.-

  • Radio and music channels.

  • that is why i never want to hear any of my favorite bands on the radio

  • What's that song at the end of the video. And anyway, YouTube is MY radio station~~~!

  • I am so annoyed of the songs in the current top 10...like always... not because they're bad but because the radio is killing them. But unfortunately they are doing the same with the greatest hits of all time! At some point I can't listen to any great Queen song anymore because they're just overplayed by the radio.

  • Pumped Up Kicks and Sail will just never get old for me, whenever I do hear it on the radio I have made it a rule to turn up my radio as loud as I can. As for the other songs very very true I just don't see it happening to my 2 favorite

  • Thanks to Pandora, Jango, and other services, radio is basically obselete now.

Just thought I'd let you know.

  • Pumped Up Kicks will just never get old for me...but I agree with you on everything else

  • Hiiii! :D ..... i now have nightmares :L :L :L

  • Yeah, "Someone Like You" by Adele is super overplayed (but I listen to it anyways) and so is TGIF by freakin Katy Perry. I don't listen to the radio anymore unless I am absolutely sick of my 40 cds and wanna listen to something new. (Ironically that's how I first heard Adele)

  • The radio killed "Someone like you" by Adele. Love the song but it is over played. I think too many radio stations all across North America, have gotten into the habit of over playing good songs to death.

  • @wwjdcol the radio is slowly killing adele's entire 21 CD.

  • I never listen to the radio.... so the song about the other kids is still catchy to me.

  • Hence why I very rarely listen to the radio. xD

  • You speak the truth! ha. Hilarious!!!! :)

  • AWOLNATION - if Kaleb replaced his first name with how he reacted to bad radio stations

  • Gosh I love the way you speak.

  • Ehh-wall.

  • It has murderd Katy Perry but I never liked that one so I guess That doesn't count. But seriously! I actcidentily learned all the words to Friday Night just be listening to the radio before and after work for five minutes.

  • ;-; It's true... i used to love AWOLNATION too ;-;

  • Radio Computers?

  • I'm guessing AWOLNATION is "A-wall nation"

as in, Absent Without Leave Nation.

  • Did somebody gif 2:02 yet?

    It needs to exist.

  • Oh God this is so true. The first songs that come to mind for me are: Fireflies by Owl City, Chasing Cars by Snow Patrol, F**k You by Celo Green, Just Dance by Lady Gaga. With Fireflies, I heard that song maybe 4 times in one day once just through the radio. Two of those times it was at double speed - an attempt to make it different and interesting... done twice in the same day.

  • I don't listen to the radio, I plug in my mp3, unless there is a particularly interesting radio drama. In this way, I am still able to listen to Pumped Up Kicks without wanting to punch a narwhal in the face, and I can listen to all the Pink Floyd I want to without having to switch to the oldies station. How do I find new music, then? YouTube. :D

  • KALEB! YOU ARE AMAZING!!!

  • Ahh love it, so true! The best example of this was Complicated by Avril Lavigne. I wanted to murder that song by the end. I've also heard Stereo Hearts faaar too often lately.

  • Press 5, wait a sec, then press 4 for "All the other kids, played the same songs over, and over, and over"

  • Just an hour ago, I bought both your Bran Hambric books!

I thought you would like to know! :D

  • It's not only the radio stations! I usually watch music channels on TV when I'm bored and sometimes there's: a) the same song is several channels at the same time or b) The song you just heard is starting on another channel.

And that's one of the reasons I love the Internet...

  • AWOL-nation. ...as if Kaleb Nation went absent without leave.

    You make a valid point!

  • it said like A- Wall-nation btw

  • I find myself thankful that I don't listen to the radio. That's what my IPod is for. I'm also thankful I don't get sick of my favorites so easily.

  • Well it's a good thing most of my favorite music is rarely (if ever) played on the radio...

  • i'm glad that in sweden they don't play stuff that I listen too because it's not so well known here, even though they're huge in US or UK or the rest of the world :D stuff like britney spears and lady gagas pokerface is on the radio ALL the time

  • People would call you hipster, saying that the mass popularity of a song makes you not like it any more. Personally, I could not agree more.

  • completely agree. p.s... i fricken love AWOLNATION... damnnn radio!x

  • The radio never kills good music for me. If there's a song I really love I never get sick of hearing it. It just sucks cuz a lot of times they play songs I don't like over and over again, cuz obviously it just makes you hate them even MORE.

  • Hahaha, Kaleb I am so happy you love that band (awolnation). I knew them just before they got famous. Go listen to more of their stuff!

It's pronounced A-wol nation,. Haha, not to hard. =D

  • OMG! I think this is hillariously true... and has been for a LONG time. It was like that in the 80's and it's still true today. That band you mentioned is amazing! I just went and saw them at The Music Box and they were almost better live than on their CD. There are so many good songs on their CD that it's hard to believe! And as much as I'd love them to be sucessful I hate that they're being played on the radio.

  • Good Life by OneRepublic. Once my favorite song, now a nightmare.

  • This is why I plug in my mp3 player and rarely listen to the radio. Then songs don't get killed unless I put them on repeat. And I usually don't. PROBLEM SOLVED :D

  • 2:08 until 2:14 FTW!

  • omg, this was SO funny. just wanna listen to "pumped up kicks" because it'll make me think of your video ... ;-) Kaleb is where good music goes to rise from the dead!

  • don't blame radio. it's trying desperately to remain relevant in today's society and overcompensating. it'll get better.

  • This is more like it Kaleb! Keep up the good work! :D

  • i no longer listen to the radio

actually, i rarely listen to English music at all anymore...

  • I know!!!!!! Sad . ..... :'(

  • LMAO I love how I had no idea what band you were talking about and then you go "SAIL" and I instantly knew xD

  • Sail isnt playing on the radio where I am yet

Quick! I still have time to enjoy it

  • I just cant stop laughing now =S

  • I totally second that. Happened to me with the song "the A-team" by Ed Sheeran, it's so overplayed, you end up hating it. So I only listen to "Little Lady", the same song but with a featured artist.

  • I love awolnation but the video for sail is freaking weird lol yeah I stopped listening to the radio three years ago except for the oldies stations occastionally. It makes me sad.

  • "Radio is where good music goes to die." Too true, Mr. Nation.

  • 0:41 is the BESTEST EVER!

  • Comment removed

  • I don't listen to radio, not because I'm one of those pretentious people that hate mainstream music its because Im one of those pretentious people that hate the 55mins each hour they play of commercials!

  • Oh sweety, you really need sleep LOL you look so tired, but I'm sure that its just the realization that the radio music's devil. It'll be ok, I promise :D

  • Anything by Katy Perry... :P

  • lol i loveee youuuuuu :D

  • I heard "Sail" a YEAR AGO!!! Why do they choose now to make it mainstream? That was my problem with Pumped Up Kicks, I loved it before it went mainstream, but once it did, i was already tired of it. They have yet to stop playing that song. Idiots.

  • SOOOO TRUE!!!

  • I never listen to the radio anymore because it drives me crazy. Half the stuff on there I don't like anyway. I just listen to my Lifehouse

  • Yeah, I totally agree with you on this. If you want to continue to like a song, don't listen to the radio. Anything by Keisha gets way over played and Nickelback. I guess that's when satellite or HD radio becomes a great thing....alot more channels to choose from.

  • This is why I listen to this little, quite strange station. No top 40 music, little talk/ commercials (and they aren't horrible to listen to anyways) and good music from time to time. That is if you don't happen to listen to it during "classical hour" or the other strange hours they have...

  • Awolnation = A WALL NATION. As in

"hey don't walk into A WALL, NATION" that is, if people address you by your last name

  • This is sadly true. Especially since L.A. has gotten rid of there last to indie stations that at least had a grand variety of music playing (I'm thinking Indie 103.1 and Star 98.7, they will be missed).

Anyways, I feel like Gnarles? Barkley new everyone got sick of 'Crazy' and perhaps that is why he changed his name to Cee-Lo Green and put out 'Forget You' only to have it overplayed as well.

At least there is spotify, which is absolutely awesome in comparison to regular radio.

    Well, that'

  • Too bad wrock and trock aren't on the radio....that'd switch it up a bit!

  • Every song on the radio. Ever. I don't like the radio the way I used to..

  • Oh my gosh! That's where I lose my love for half the music I listen(ed) to! That's why I pop in cds instead.

Soul Sister by Train definitely died soon after I thought "hey, this song isn't too bad"

  • ahahahaha! this video was awesome :) and AWOLNATION is a good band too. the way i pronounce it is like AI-WALL-NATION

  • I should just start recording myself watching your videos... I laugh so hard.

  • Moves Like Jagger.

  • i concur.

  • SAIL!

  • I feel the same!!! Just remember though that you loved these bands before anyone else even knew about them so you got to enjoy them in our little indie environment:) I love AWOLNATION:)

  • When I read the title of this video, I just KNEW it was going to about how the stupid radio stations always repeat the popular songs. They literally have a list of 10 or so songs that they play over and over and over and over again for weeks and weeks. Even the ones that claim they play songs from the "90, 2000s, and now!" LIARS

  • OMG, your eyes are so green :D hehe, yeah I stare at people's eyes when I watch videos on youtube. It's like the first thing I notice about a person. You are awesome and very funny but I think that I mostly like you because you have really nice eyes. Hope that's not to creepy, lol :) And yeah like pretty much what I watch on here is: made by a guy; where they talk or blog...I guess (?); they are awesome; very funny; crazy/insane; thoughtful' and here is the main one: I like their eyes.

  • If they aren't all playing songs about high school shootings, they are just playing nasty songs; therefore, siriusly sinatra in the way to go.

  • Not every one will agree with me but there are a few nickelback songs that as soon as they hit the radio they were over played;

    1) Rockstar

    2) photopraph

    3) Someday

    4) any "hit" song they make

It is also good to note that radio makes bad songs seem popular but after the radio stop playing them people stop careing.

Tecno and dubstep-never played on radio. try that.

  • never play pop radio Kaleb. ever. play your ipod.

  • Hence the reason I don't listen to the radio! xD Its always one of three things... 1) a song that's bad, 2) a song that you've heard a million times, or 3) a song that's good but you only hear it the once and you never hear the name of it and it drives you mad while you try to find out what it was. :)

  • im goin craaaazaaaayyy!

  • Comment removed

  • This is the exact reason why I don't listen to the radio. My suggestion, just listen to Tegan and Sara and the New Pornographers. They have such good music that the radio shall NEVER ruin.

  • radio is trying to kill adele! :(

  • @flyingcamote I was thinking the same :(

  • I used to love Train. Now I don't. And I've started to hate Tonight by hot chelle rae and I like it like that also by HCR. So now I just don't listen the radio

  • Sadly, you are correct. When my favorite 50s/60s station changed to 80s, I turned off the radio for good.

  • Radio Killed the Studio Star?

  • Usher, kesha, and katy perry play way to much!

  • AWOLNATION = "A wall" "nation." (Awesome band!) I first heard their song "Sail" on an awesome local altrock/modern rock radio station. This station also introduced me to "Pumped Up Kicks," and I loved it. After that station's untimely demise (bought out by corporations), Pumped Up Kicks died a thousand deaths at the hand of mainstream radio stations nationwide. It was a sad day.

  • Any song by Rihanna is overplayed huh @kalebnation

  • pronounce awolnation by

    ayyywallnation.

  • Oh my Lord, Hey Soul Sister is my kryptonite. I literally will almost crash my car in my haste to change the radio station. So awful!!

  • Great rant - aKiller observation - youtube is the birthplace - radio is the graveyard

  • The reason why I hate the radio.

  • So true. unfortunately they are forced to play what is popular, and of course they have to play it until it is no longer popular-aka when they KILL it. reason #1 why i dont listen to the radio

  • love this vid

  • WORD

  • Paradise By coldplay and definely Rollin' the deep by Adele

  • This happens when my mum makes mix CDs and continues to play them OVER and OVER and OVER and OVER again. I cannot listen to One Republic or Katy Perry anymore. Or Taylor Swift. Or Blue October.

  • Got to love a bit of florence foster jenkins

  • The One That Got Away by Katy Perry! Plays waaay to much! They are also killing every Adele song!

  • Radioactive by kings of leon... ANNOYING!

  • Anything by lady gaga, good life by one republic & for sure Pumped up kicks

  • EVery song the band Daughtry ever released. The albums are amazing, and I LOVE the songs that don't get released to radio, but EVERY song that has been played on the radio has died. I can't listen to "Feels Like Tonight" anymore, which sucks.

Oddly, though, I've found that I can hear any Matchbox20/Rob Thomas song as many times as is humanly possible and still not be sick of it...

  • So I showed my roommate this video( it's the first one of yours that I have shown her) well it stopped to load and she said that your eyes were like staring into her soul. I just wanted to put that out there. =)

  • What son was ruined by radio? Let's see..... every Katy Perry song. EVER. I mean they were OKAY the first three times they were played.

  • awolnation on the radio? OMG WHAT STATION D:

obtw kaleb its (a-wol-nation) its easy. XD

  • Psh, you only like AWOLNATION because you're cousins. I mean, you both have the last name Nation :P

  • What I hate is I go out to search for these great new artists on iTunes, like foster the people, and then it ends up being on the radio. I'm happy for the artist, but when I went to the concert I was surrounded by 12 year old girls who really only knew their one song "Pumped Up Kicks." When I start hearing songs on the radio it ruins it for me because this creative new sound becomes mainstream and recreated by money-grabbing musicians wanting to jump on the band wagon. Stupid radio music :(

  • i love his facial expressions when he keeps hearing the same song its so funny :)
