This technology is not new. Nor is it a bonus. Using motion capture is now the minimum. Unless you've got a multi-million dollar physics engine that really works with visuals, motion capture is simply necessary if you don't want Jar Jar/Shrek Donkeys on the screen.

Your reasons for it being a trash movie, I'm sure, is because it was a predictable plot.

I still think its one of the most AMAZING movies I've ever seen. It was a predictable plot that was executed beautifully, gave birth to amazing effects, let Hollywood see new, dedicated actors rising, and let us relate to the story (if you live and know the world at all).
