@rumpole33 They still could do a third series of LOM. The present day Sam Tyler commited suicide in ATA, but the Sam Tyler in the "1970s" can act as a tangent timeline, and carry on from where it finished.
It's up to them realy. I adored the realistic 1970 set up.
absolute class. thank you so much for putting this on here. was so disappointed when this was cut from the repeat. has got to be one of the best black comedy scenes ever filmed.
yes,i'm watching the episodes on the web now and there's a lot of great scenes they left out! (like drunk Gene scenes in series 1 episode 5...) it is a pity... do you know if they're doing the same in Ashes to Ashes??
I love Sam's face throughout this scene and the way Gene sits there like this is a perfectly normal everyday occurance. The writing of this series is classic genius.
This is simply the funniest piece of complete scene stealing I have ever seen. How the other actors kept themselves together as he began singing 'let my people go', simply beggars belief. John Simm's eyebrows are practically in orbit and I swear Phil Glenister's pout is actually an attempt to prevent him laughing. Only the other lawyer show's scarcely a flicker...a vignette of genius. Thanks for posting.
The bloke who plays the lawyer is Jason Watkins, a great actor who appears in Confetti, Being Human, and even a little role in Bridget Jones 2. He deserves far more recognition than he currently gets
This is ... one of the funniest clips ever. I have no idea how they all kept a straight face, especially the guy who plays Morgan. I think Glenister was having trouble - the purse of his lips seems especially determined.
I love Sam's mimic throughout the whole scene!

Hiya,
This isn't one of the best police dramas ever filmed -- this *is* the best.
Well it got me into a lot of others but the interest must've always been there. I luv this -- it just sounds like a bog-standard blues song to me.

why didnt they do at least TWO series of LOM???
they doing THREE series of ATA, but LOM was by far the best of all the series!!!
rumpole33 1 year ago
@rumpole33: note to myself. they did series 2. not 3.
rumpole33 1 year ago
@rumpole33
They DID do two series of LOM.
JamiePS3Howitt 1 year ago
@JamiePS3Howitt , yes, that's why i put a note to myself that they did two series. i tried deleting my original post, but no option to do so.
rumpole33 1 year ago
@rumpole33 They stopped at Series 2 because John Simm wasn't able to do it anymore due to other commitments.
Hence Ashes to Ashes was born to wrap up the story.

I'm not sure if they're doing the same to Ashes to Ashes, I guess so.
But I have to look the international version anyway, because the don't show ashes to ashes here in germany!
