1958 I watched this movie. I was then only 14 yrs old.To tell you the truth I hardly remember the movie but the song always coming to my eardrum. I forgot about Rehana who was the heroin of this movie.I am trying to find this movie again.
A most beautiful vintage song. Excellent composition by C.Ramchander and very beautifully and very softly sung by Lata Mangeshkar. This is music in the real sense of the word 'music' or maybe I would put it this way, this is Indian music in its true class.
Conted... from previous comments @paragpra I agree Lata's voice at this low pitch is most touching with the level of her emotive skill. It is mostly the music directors who took her to higher pitch because by and large the range of her voice was unmatched without losing the basic sweetness of her voice. There are many eaxmples such songs. However at some point, it could get shrill. Rafi had a similar unbelievable range, but it would get besuur beyond a point. Witness Naushad's "Hain mohabbat zindabad" in Mughal-e-azam.
"Tum kya jaano tumhaari yaad mein ham kitna roye ham kitna roye..." this Lata / C Ramchandra / P L Santoshi / Shin Shinaki Boobla Boo (1952) song picturised on Rehana who migrated in Pakistan & acted in few films...
What a smooth voice, touches your heart. It is true C. Ramchand and Madan Mohan composed some of the most memorable songs sung by Lata. By the way what does the title "shin shinake' bubla bu" mean? I always wondered if it had any meaning. Since I never got a chance to watch thsi movie, how does the title connect with the movie? Anybody, please. Mirza ji thanks for your revival of these priceless old songs, and your photo-montage is excellent.
@nandu1f Dear Nanduji, as far as my knowledge goes "Shin Shinaki Bubla Boo" used to be a game played during our childhood days somewhere around fifties. I have completely forgotten the ways and rules of the game but am equilly anxious to know more about it, if it really is a game. I bow my head to the composers, lyricist and the great ever Lataji for this rare piece of gem which rolls out tears from our eyes after listening to this mesmerising song. Many many thanks for uploading this song.
Sad that video of this beautiful song (combined effect of CR, Lataji PLSantoshi) is not at all available. Consolation comes in the form of finding audio at least - thanks for preserving and revival old sweet memories.
its a real masterpiece.the voice of lata ji is so deeply dipped in pain that each word comes alive.the magic of c ramchandra ji is at its peak here.that age was really something we can never repeat
The right song can put anybody in a better mood and soothe emotional turmoil. We all go through our phases, and most people will turn to certain songs to improve their moods. This is one such song that keeps you cool.
Imirza jee,I have lately noticed that all our beloved uploaders srazdan, amritvani, symaster and so many others have been taken away from us.They are being suspended from youtube. We were like a big family who shared the same taste in music and appreciated it from the core of our hearts. I am worried for you too. Is there any other way we all can be in touch other than you tube?
Dear gentle people, the origin of this song has a real story. PL Santoshi was madly in love with Rehana. And one evening he visited Rehana's house. But she would not open the door. So PL Santoshi sat outside her house all night. This song is the result.
MIRZA JI KIYA BAT HE. GOOD BACK GROUND.. THIS SONG IS SUPPOSED TO BE MOST SLOW SONG OF INDIAN MUSIC.(WHATT RAAG )C. RAMACHNDRA SPECIALITY. REMEMBER PARCHHAEEN SONG .DIL DIL SE KEH RAHE HE /JO TOO HE WOHI MAIN HOON...
Sweet sweet sweet... Lata and C Ramchandra were a brilliant combination. While Lata made the careers of many music directors... C Ramchandra made Lata the legend that she is, by giving her so many immortal gems. He understood Lata's voice like no other.
Of course true! Perhaps Mirzaji may correct me but there was more than artistic rapport between them! I think there was some talk of Chitalkar being head over heals in love with Lataji who chose not to respond in kind!
A fantastic C.RAMCHANDAR composition sung well by One and ONLY LATAJI. I think the words are Kaliya samja gayi---preet ke beeje boye ie.PAIN of separation teaches you true LOVE.
Lat is absolutely fantastic in the lower keys. I wonder why some music directors always made her sing in too high keys, esp. Naushad. They are great, but I prefer her voice quality in a lower register.
pity the print is destroyed. i have never seen sadhna bose on screen. her sister , naina devi was a singer and more than that, a promoter of music and benefactress of musicians. lived in delhi.
Mirzaji this not unknown masterpiece. There r volumes written about this song and how santoshi wrote lyrics of this song. This was a love story of Bubla boo (Ranjan)and Shin shinaki (Rehana) similar to Heer Ranjha or Laila Majnu.

One priceless touching song that speaks more than volumes than countless poetry books !
A window to albeit melancholic, but sweet human emotions, & innocent expressions thereof when truly in love, & in separation angst.
Your uploads of vintage fine gems tend to almost always be exceptionally beautiful &/or poignant. This is both.
With Due Regards,
Ritu
