i have had a couple of nasy experiences with dams when young and stupid. its the forces beloew the water you cant see that cause the damage. best avoided.
yea right junior. why does everyone mad dog from behind a keyboard. scott barnes paddles some of the sickest shit in ct. ive seen him run some nasty shit i wouldnt touch with 10' paddle so he knows what hes talkin about. let me know when your gonna run it so i can go and laugh at you whilst you drown
Me and my girl just bought an inflatable kayak and we will take it on that dam this year when it warms up a bit. That is kiddy crap and now that im thinking of it I will take my dog down that too! As a matter of fact i just might take my PFD off too!!! Im kidding about waiting till it warms up, thank looks a "little" fun and I think we just might go hit that up in the next couple weeks EXTREME! Seriously if you are crying about that dam then go see some more whitewater CT offers like class4!
that's the attitude that's going to get someone hurt. With just a small amount of modification it can be made safer for kayaking, not disturb any PCB's, allow upstream fish passsage and clean up an ugly remnant of industry
this is FUCKING dangerous, in our country several people dying every year because of drowning in the washing mashine

You can definitely kayak down the right side of it, but I wouldn't go near the left side.. that would be killer..

American Whitewater's accident report (nationwide) is in for 2008.
nearly 21% of the drowning fatalities were caused by dams like this one

@buddhapall go right ahead, natural selection is important to the gene pool. . . Dolt.

yet another good reason to modify the dam.
1. upstream fish passage
2. safer downstream kayak passage
3. an anchor/attraction to the planned park renovation and renewal
4. fewer flooding incidence in downtown New Milford

I think its behind the cookhouse or thereabouts. I know its one of the reasons rt 7 floods everytime we get a big rainstorm
