Does anyone know how to add their own music into their hacks, aka have a tutorial? I know they must be in MIDI format, but where to later put those soundtracks, and how to get them in MIDI format is unknown by me...
@chase28100 You can add different frame values. This one is 0 to 1. In another hack I made them have 3 frames, so it went from 0 to 1 to 2. It takes up substantially more space though, and since it applies to every sprite, you shouldn't use more than 2 frames unless you plan on expanding the rom to 32 MB
At the offset 1e7c64 in Pokemon Ruby Version, the data to the pointers on how the sprites are set up are here. They are simply an animation that tells the game to display the first frame of the image. Repoint this in a tile viewer to free space. Then, add new animation data in where you repointed it to. The next post will have an explaination on animation data.
Each row in a tile of animation data tells the game a certain set of instructions. The first byte tells the game which frame, the third tells you the duration that the image is displayed, and I don't know what the 2nd and 4th do yet. Put several of these rows on top of each other to make an animation. To end the animation, set the last row as FFFF0000. You can also set it as EFFFOOO0 to repeat the animation (which is what I did for Ivan's backsprite), but don't do it with Pokemon sprites...
You're so cool!

How adding animation was done:
