True but the US robots are ONLY for military applications. The Japanese are the only ones working on humanoid robots for entertainment and daily tasks. In that field they are ahead.

Wrong. Look through the website for the robotics lab/group of any well known academic institution and you'll quickly find dozens of robots with non-military purposes. Whether you'd put them in the same category as etertainment is hard to say (though RoboCup is a prime example of US 'entertainment' robotics). As for humanoids, it depends on how human you want to get. Aside from body shape, there is very little about many humanoid robots in general that resembles a human body.

Just for people's info, the name of that folk song is "Aidzubandaisan." And to comment on the topic, the dance being performed here is a traditional Bon dance, which is supposed to be a dance to commemorate one's ancestors. Perhaps a robot can do the dance just like any ol' baachan, but the dance is meant as a prayer for ancestors. Perhaps one day when robots have souls and feelings for those who were dear to them and suffered short circuit...
