  • Brings back awful memories... I miss you Bessie xxx :(

  • I was in the movie thtr when this movie was out.. i was prolly like 11.. I just remember me like hyperventalating (sorry if i mispelled) and I was literally FLIPPING out and I just remember everyone looking at me with teary eyes and you could just hear people sobbing. Just watched in on FX and again, cried like a baby.. Sucks, but I love the movie.. I just wanted to go hug my cat

  • its a stupid movie i am a guy and it made me cry like a bitch and i never cry

  • I could not agree more with this review. What made this movie great were two things: it is not just a dog movie and the character development. The reason we cried so much at the end was the connection you felt to the family, and the way they portray Owen’s relationship to Marley. I love touching family films like this one. I just saw a feel good movie called Discover the Gift. I thought it was very inspirational. I think you should do a review for Discover the Gift. bit. ly/lmjrmP

  • this made me cry so hard !

last 15 mins of it i was in costant damn tears !

  • I haven't seen the movie yet and now I think I'm going to wait a while longer before seeing it since my dog died just recently. :(

  • Ok well, I honestly think it was sad and that it should be a higher rate then just PG maybe PG-13 so yeah!I watched it last night and we didnt cry but we wanted too and i have actually had two dogs die so it was really sad!

  • @nmbgirl98 in the uk it is a pg13

  • This movie had VERY good acting and character development. It wasn't JUST about the dog. It was about the family....through the hard times and the good. It's an EXCELLENT character study...and was very well made with beautiful cinematography. I love this movie.

  • awww i miss my yorkie ;( i love you baby!!

  • SADDEST MOVIE I EVER SAW MADE ME CRY BECAUSE I LOST A DOG LAST YEAR, love you codey, july 27th 09

  • dam I just watch finish this show I feel so depressed and sad, not even jackass 1 & 2 can cheer me up!

  • @Killerkid282

Oh please...jackass could actually cheer ppl up? That will make you even more dpressed and sad...what has our society become? LOL!

  • @compsciguy Who died and make you king that you have to judge what movie cheers me up? The fact that you don't watch entertainment as a part to cheer yourself up makes me wonder of our society.

  • I named my dog Marley :)

  • OMG! This Movie is so sad! i was bawling! I hate the part where they show the home videos! That gets me the most! I just wish it wasent so sad! Its too sad! I can never buy that movie on DVD unless I skip the ending! But god moive though! It was very cute!

  • it did make me choke up but not cause the movie just thinking it will happen to my old dog one day hes like 10 years old and still kickin its sad thought but the movie it self doesnt make me cry brigns you to reality and we all die it really sucks

  • Thanks for the comment. And I agree!

  • Omg I never cry over movies I think it's so soppy but this made me cry so bad at the end...it's the only movie that has ever made me cry...it was just wow! Best dog movie to date

  • Agree - such a tear jerker!

  • my dog died the exact same way it was a sad movie

  • honestly at the end when he was dieing, i couldent quit thinking of all the dogs ive lost and i teared up , i had to leave the room.

  • Awe, I hear you. Thanks for sharing your comment.

  • i seen the movie, and i cried at the end too. Great movie

  • Sad ending, but the movie was quite pointless and dull, without any twists and surprises at all. Not worth watching, unless you are emotional

  • :'( My parents and older cousin rented this movie and I didn't want to watch it because my friend told me the ending...but I ended up watching it. I was crying at the end...but I didn't want anyone to see me crying so I covered myself. For some reason I NEVER cry when a human dies in movies, but I ALWAYS cry when an animal dies...I know, weird.

  • It's probably because we are conditioned to think of animals as more innocent and child like, even when they are adults. :)

  • Oh you poor thing. We all have to deal with this part of life. It becomes easier to accept as you get older, but the pain from suffering a loss will always be there. Just know that you are giving the new pup the best life you can and enjoy each moment. That's what life is all about. Enjoying it while it lasts :) Thanks for your comment.

  • I just watching this movie online, and I can honestly say Im still wiping the tears from my eyes with tissue on the bed. Im 14 years old and about 2 years ago my 18 year old mix terrier died, and of course alot of memorys came back to me. I now have a 1 year old Bichon Frise and when he passes away I dont know how to go through with this for the third time. I mean, who the hell in the family decieded to get another dog after the whole house was in loss that few weeks.

  • omg this had to have been the saddest movie i have ever seen, the whole mood f the theatre at the end of the film was like borderline suicidal lol. i mean there were some like odler people there like crying hysterically. I mean when aniston was like "your my clearence puppy" i like lost it. sadest movie in history for reals.

  • I know. I love that he was their clearance puppy. When he was in the vet room at the very end...that killed me. Major gusher!

  • Oh...crap, are you crying?

Wow, uh, i saw it, and i didn't even cry...ok mabye a little, but it wasen't that sad.

I mean after it was done, i felt happy because that dog led a long and happy life. So, uh, yes.

  • Wasn't crying in the video. But I cried a lot because it reminded me of the death of a close family member.

  • I just rented it and watched again. I think I cried more the 2nd time!

  • just watched it. first movie to ever make me cry

  • i cryed so hard i got a bleeding nose. WTF? great movie though.

  • woah! Crazy!

  • i cried there :(....kuz he waz sweet and so perky and adorable...and he waz the happiest dog ever!...but then he dies and doesent know why hes not able to jump around anymore....i cried ...i did ;'(

  • me too hun, me too.

  • i agree with this review all the way! great movie <3

  • Thanks so much. Great minds think alike! :)

  • I just put my dog down last July,i wish i knew the film ended that way..still enjoyed the movie but cried like a baby.

  • *raises hand feebly* I'm twelve years old, currently in an argument with a good friend. I'm not the happiest person at the moment, so my mom and I watched Marley and Me, thinking it would be a nice comedy...Wrong. ._. The trailer....evil...

  • The ending had me in tears...

I lost my cat and my mom in November so the ending had me like you said...gushing tears.

It was such a good movie though.

  • Exactly. I am sorry for your loss. That movie brings back emotions, that's for sure.

  • my dog died like the exact same way as marley. when my family watched the movie even my big brother (who never cries) was balling his eyes out because he was very close with her anyway when I got out the i said the exact same thing "There's sex in that movie!!"

  • Hehe! Thanks for posting!

  • god i'm just lookin for the clip where marley dies so i can have a quick laugh please where is the fuckin clip

  • saying stuff like this makes you cool kids, pay attention.

  • This movie made me REALLY want to cry... but as usual I hold it back, as I do with other movies similar to this :P

I also thought it was a good movie and all that but...

So many memories brought back by this movie...

    Aw :(

  • I agree...me too!!

  • I watched it for the first time ever last night and I could not stop cryin at the end and I sat with my dog holly and after the film i just culd not stop cryin but I loved the film

  • Awe. Give Holly my love. :)

  • I too thought this was a comedy/uplifting film but was WRONG! My dog passed away a year ago exactly and my mom and I wanted to see this movie since X-MAS, thinking it was a comedy, so I netflixed it for us to watch. OMFG WAY TOO much for us to handle. This movie is beyond sad. It's just flat out depressing.

  • Especially at the end.

  • OMG i just watched it i cried how sad!!

  • I bawled like a baby...and Im 17! Lol. It's a very emotional movie, especially if you own a dog. I have a cocker spaniel named Delilah, and I love her to death...and so I can relate to this movie.

  • Men, women, adults, kids...it makes us all cry! Anyone who loves animals would have to agree!

  • omg i saw it today i was crying sooo much

  • It's a very sad movie...I know! I couldn't stop crying for a while after it was over.

  • God, I wish I saw that video BEFORE I saw the movie. They should warn people in tv adds or something, but then again a lot of people would change their minds about actually going to see it. I was having panic attacks since John let Marley off the leash at the doggie beach, then it just got worse and worse...

  • I agree. It would have been nice if they'd advertised it more honestly...ah well. It was a good flick, but sad. I still haven't seen it again since the 1st time. Still recuperating, lol.

  • fuk your hed is mangled

  • Did you recently watch it? Cuz you were kinda sniffling.

  • I had JUST walked in the door from the movie. I felt like I needed to warn people ASAP. :)

  • Yeah...it was terribly sad. It made me think of my monstrous yellow lab. :)

  • I agree. This movie will definitely make you cry! I went with 2 of my friends and my dad and all of us girls cry & my dad had the sniffles because it is such an emotional movie! Especially if you have a pet or have had a pet. I have never cried that much watching a movie in my life!

  • this movie will make large russian women cry

  • I haven't read the book yet and did not know that the dog dies....BUT THANK YOU FOR TELLING ME THE ENDING OF THE MOVIE!!! a review is not supposed to be you summarizing the movie!!! NEXT TIME FIND OUT WHAT THE WORD REVIEW MEANS!!!

  • It says review/warning. And everyone knows the dog dies. Sorry it happened to take you by surprise, but knowing this does not make the movie and worse/better. Please don't yell at people online, it's not friendly.

  • regardless if I knew the dog died, she told the ending...and a review is typically : a discussing regarding plot, characters, acting NOT a summary about what happens in the movie....

  • secondly your point about the heading of the youtube title "review/warning" has nothing to do with "warning I'm going to tell everyone what happens" it's to warn people the movie is sad

Basically I would appreciate people to be a little more educated in terms of the specific wording they are using ie: review or summary!

  • LOL. I think you'll get over it.

  • dude. let it go

  • Ditto. :)

  • She said SPOILER ALERT, in other words she is gonna spoil some part of the movie, maybe you need to go back and listen again!

  • OMFG dont watch the review if you havent seen the fucking movie!

    [This is to: ash2627]

  • Hehe, thanks!

  • Thanks for your support :)

  • Saw this movie yesterday and then a second time today with my mom... god, I think I got even more choked up the second time around. I had a labrador for about 16 years, got him when I was three and then poof, lost him last year at the age of 18..

So yeah. I'm a guy and I have not a trace of shame in admitting I cried not only during the movie but long afterward as well.

As emotional as it was for me I have to say it's one of the best movies I've ever seen in my life.

  • Thanks for being so honest. Wow, I can't believe you had the strength to see it twice in theaters! I think I'll wait for the DVD so I can press pause and cry my eyes out - then continue, when my vision is less blurry. Thanks again for posting!

  • ya know if you read the book you would expect this i mean for christ sakes use your common sense did you really think this would be 2 hours of happy fun time..... god!!!

  • You seem like such a nice person, so I'll respond to you. Not everyone reads the book before they see a movie. Sometimes one doesn't even know there was a book before the movie is made. I know this might shock you. But it's true. Based ONLY on the MOVIE and the PREVIEWS, YES...one does think this will be a happy/funny family comedy. In the future, you should comment only on the topic of a video (this was on the movie). NOT the book. Thanks though, for insulting my intelligence - it hurt.

  • sorry i was just kinda angry at the explosion of people surprised that he died i was also angry at how they just stretched out the whole dog dieing thing.

    p.s.- im sorry

  • I just saw it and I BAWLED my face off. my whole sleeve was wet from tears and i was trying to be subtle about my crying, but its just not possible. haha.

  • There was just no way to be subtle! I know!! Even the men couldn't hold it in. :)

  • Aww that was a really good review, i can't wait to see it, we have to wait til March 13th to see it as that is when it is released in the UK. I read the book already a year ago!

  • Thanks for your comment! Be sure to bring tissues when you do go!! :)

  • im a guy i cried alot

  • Thanks for the honest comment!

  • I think you might just be the only person besides me who has mentioned "Beethoven" when talking about this movie. I know that it was based on a true story, but, come on, you have to have been living under a rock for the past 20 years to see the resemblance between the two movies.

  • Well, Beethoven was cool when I was young, lol. You must be about my age. Actually, I think I heard that a Beethoven's 13th is coming out soon or something. DVD style. LOL. Thanks for the post!!!!!

  • First of all, I would like to make a correction to an error that I just noticed that I had made in my last post. What I meant to say was "you have to have been living under a rock for the last 20 years to NOT see the resemblance between the two movies"! Secondly, I will be 30 in June.

  • I knew what you meant, lol. So yeah, we are of the same Beethoven generation! Rock on!

  • WATCHMEN

  • i will never see this movie again its sooooo sad

  • I can totally understand this. I might watch it again on DVD and then stop before the dog starts getting old!

  • damn, why is everyone dissing her, she did a great review...kind of. but thats no reason 2 call her bitch. dumbass

  • LOL, thanks.

  • no problem. (:

  • Excuse me...but you rated my video a 5/5 and I agree with you that the movie was good. So can you please explain why you called me a b*tch? I am offended and find that quite rude. I know you are a young one, but everyone knows, "if you don't have anything nice to say, don't say anything at all". Thanks.

  • haha,WHAT?

  • Ok folks, so lucariomaster117 contacted me and apologized for the comment. Apparently a friend finished the comment while lucariomaster117 went to the bathroom and posted it. So that's why the comment up there really didn't make sense. It's all good and I appreciate that lucariomaster117 let me know what was up. No hard feelings at all! :)

  • haha how gay why didnt he notice

  • I don't know. And I appreciate the compliment. Kinda offended that you said "how gay"...I don't personally like that word choice as I have lots of love for the gay community...and using the word like that is a bit derogatory. Thanks for the comment though.

  • I know huh!

  • your hot...

  • This was a great movie. I read the book, and it made me cry bad at the end.

  • Tell me what happens at the end.

  • I've just sent you a personal message about it...that way I don't spoil it for others.

  • I saw Marley and i was balling only like 4 people in the sold out movie cried the movie sold out every time i wanted to see it so i saw it the day after Chrismiss and i bought tickets 2 hours early But the movie was so sad :(

  • ...in a manner you were NOT prepared for. Since the cats out of the bag, the scene that truly got me absolutely weak in the knees (and literally makes me tear up STILL thinking about it now) is after Marley passes away and Owen's character has a flashback to the time he came home and watched Marley dancing with Jenn in front of the window(crying buckets now). Dogs are sooo precious and as the last line so poignantly expressed, they love you,FOR you...not what you come with (unlike humans)

  • Actually, I am fat. But thanks for being rude on this video. People have been thumbing your comment down. I suggest sticking to commenting on the video content next time. Thanks for worrying about my looks/health though.

  • You're so cute! I love your delivery because it's so unrehearsed, vibrant and clearly from the heart. Also, you bare a striking resemblance to Lisa Kudrow from Friends! Anyhow, I absolutely LOVED the movie. I was trembling crying so much in my seat (but I'm a guy- albeit gay- though I found my redemption when I saw this big black dude in front of me shaking from crying so loudly) I cried in the parking lot to my car afterwards, and this morning as well. It tangled with all your heart strings...

  • Awe. Thank you. I've never been told I resemble Lisa Kudrow. What a compliment. :) And you are SO right. The flash back scene is what killed me. Crying like a baby...or worse. Thanks for the awesome post. You are an amazing person! :)

  • It was a great movie, but this movie was the first that made me cry in a theater. If someone's going to take their kid to see this movie, they need to explain euthanization to them, like that the dog feels no pain.

But, this was a great review :)

  • I couldn't agree more!

  • yeah comparison with beethoven i totally agree except beethoven never die's...........lol

he was in a last movie that came out a week ago on disney channels

  • LOL...kinda like Lassy!

  • thanks for the review!!! it helped!

  • You are very welcome! Happy Holidays!

  • this movie should have been rated R or PG-13 because it had a bit of swearing, it had some sex, and it wuz extremely sad, (alot more sad then eight below, well maybe not that sad oh and it had this one scene were this young girl got stabbed. so this movie should have been rated R or PG-13 cuz i wuz very suprised when i saw this movie. and the scene were they had to put marley down wuz so sad cuz it wuz mixed with sad music and when marley died it like, showed his eyes closing.

  • I forgot about the stabbing. They didn't show the actual stab, but you got the picture. It's sneaky how they promoted it as a family film. People, especially parents should check this out before letting the kiddos go! I wish someone had warned me!

  • I have read the book but havent seen the movie yet.

Man, the book had me cry for an hour...They really describe and last hour of Marley...Sad but one of the best books I have read!

  • but thank you this was a good reveiw and was helpful

  • Does anyone remember that old movie/book where the red fern grows? if that made anyone here cry (i know i did) then that means im not going to see this movie.

  • If a movie or book makes you bring out emotions such as crying than that means to me that it is a good movie or book.

I really want to see it.

  • I agree! Bring some tissues & wear the waterproof mascara ladies!

  • The problem is that the trailer for the film makes it look like a funny family film. Okay, there is sex in the film which is too graphic for very small kids. Also, the dog not only dies, it's could be traumatic. Its not like Old Yeller... Believe me. It should be PG-13, not PG.

  • I agree. They show the dog being out to sleep and it's a trigger for emotional waterworks.

  • I just love this book, even though it is sad, but a good book overall.

  • Thanks for the tip. I'll have to get it from my local library! Happy Holidays!

  • It was one of the few movies in which you could hear people sobbing.

  • Jesus! super tear jerker i didnt expect nothin but i cried 3 freakin times.3! but it was the best movie ive seen i give it a 9.5 out of 10 (because Marley died)

  • i just got back from this movie and it is really really sad. at the part were they let marley die plz plz plz leave the theatre wen that part comes. that is the sad part. it's a really great and funny movie but i liked the book better because the book had a happier message to it.

  • funny movie, but when i walked out of the theatre there was a dog in the back of a truck that looked just like marley.

  • it was a great movie the best ive seen and it seems like the whole movie was put together to make you cry but it was a great movie

  • Agreed. Good movie, but a serious tear jerker. The movie was able to get enough to appreciate Marley until the end. Might read the book again, lol.

  • yes made me ry too...had a dog like this except he was a golden retiever...and hip displacer

  • OMG I really wish I saw this review about 3 hours ago. I just saw this movie, and I've never cried so much during a movie! I had no idea! It looked like a funny movie when I watched the trailer. And to make it worse, I have a dog that looks just like Marley!

  • Oh man! I tried to tell people as soon as I found out! LOL. It was torture, that's for sure. Well, I hope your dog is asa lucky as Marley...to have a long and happy life. Beautiful doggy!

  • i'm about to go see it.. i'm nervous.. haha wow.

  • Sorry! It's a good movie - just bring some tissues, seriously!!

  • This was one of the best movies I've seen this year. The only thing I knew was it was a movie about a Dog named Marley. I have the book, but as yet haven't read it.

It was one of those movies which made me bawl.
