  • Where can I find more of this pitch-changing, inverting, amazing music?!

  • So F'n Good!

  • that bit at 0:44 is damn great - he should have made more of it through the whole song....

  • @baboon2525 Yeah, but it makes the moment so much better when it only happens once.

  • @baboon2525 That bit sent shivers down my spine but it is good it only happens once, 'cause it means I have to listen to the song more than once to hear it again, which to be far is hardly a punishment ;D

  • Great fucking song. Kind of wondering how he did the part at 0:44. I think he just reversed the waveform of almost the whole song, because it seems to be quieter when I position the speakers different ways.

Also, we only need one comment about Thom. Stop posting your own and just give the top one thumbs up. If you want to find this stuff without Thom, I would actually suggest using the "listeners also bought" feature on iTunes. It's surprisingly helpful.

  • @thegmanyo He didn't reverse the waveform. He used a technique (forgot the name) where you combine the left and right channels, which cancels out certain frequencies, then hard-panned them to the left and right channel, creating this "surround" or "spread" effect. Or maybe he messed around with a stereo spreader plugin?

Either way, this guys a freakin genius and i cant wait for Ghettoville!

  • @Auralnoirr

You and thegmanyo are talking about the same thing. The left and right channels are 180 degrees out of phase which causes the frequency cancellation you mention.

  • @Auralnoirr I believe that the term is 'inverting'. I'm pretty sure that causes phasing similar to whats heard

  • Field dayz

  • SHUT THE FUCK UP WITH YOUR THANKS THOM!!!!!!

  • Sent by the Thom-Meister.

  • @fuchfaccio: you dont know who's thom yorke is? where do you live man? mars?

  • who's thom yorke the lead singer and secondary guitarrist of the critically acclaimed alternaltive rock-band radiohead aka god?

  • @nomukodonosor Surely you mean 'Rhythm Guitarist' & 'Lead Guitarist'

  • @TigerEyeJewel no i dont. thats what ed and johnny do

  • Thom Yorke sent me!!

  • Some people don't know God, that's Thom Yorke.-

  • @Camillegutman In God Yorke we believe.

  • if u dont know thom yorke, u are a bit uninformed about music. no offense!:)

  • @121overrider Says the person who relies on Thom to find them obscure music?

  • some including me are trying to "pull lines between dots" to get deeper description of who THOM YORKE is...

  • Who's Thom Yorke?

  • @fuchfaccio hahaha

  • I don't get what is wrong with finding this song because Thom Yorke put it up on his website. Frankly the people who say they like it because he posted about it still actually like it. Where is the line that says someone believes they like a song or that they actually like the song. Point is... It's a good song.

  • im reporting everyone who is talking about thom

  • Trust Thom's Taste !

  • Thom Yorke sent me here

  • Me too!!

  • lovely

  • Thom greetings from Perú.

  • I'm so glad this music only influences Thom/Radiohead rhythmically. It's cool music, but it's nowhere near as cool as what they come up up with.

  • 0:45 is crazy!

  • how does thom even find these songs? they are so hidden inside the youtube cave of lost videos.

  • @adrian14752 erm, this album was released on honest jon's to critical acclaim. not hard to find

  • @adrian14752 The same way the rest of us find them? This stuff is pretty popular in the 'underground' EDM scene, particularly the dubstep scene. Thom is no messiah just because he posts up songs the rest of us have been listening to for years (that's not to say his music taste isn't pretty fantastic)

  • I'm sorry but what is this lol, number 2 on your list thom??

  • Thanks Thom for your playlist ... i really don't like it, but is just liking, and thanks

  • Love this. Thanks Thom :)

  • theoretically if i had known of it prior to thom yorke putting it on his playlist, i would've liked it then, but seeing as i didn't have that chance i guess the world will never know

  • ok. you all like it cause thom putted it on his list. uuhm. great!

  • thom yorke sent me.

  • this is absolutely amazing. thank you thom!!

  • thom!

  • New Yorke.

  • whatever, thom. here's my office chart: 'still sound' by toro y moi

  • Thom

  • Thomas Edward Yorke Sent me here! XD

  • Thanks Thom!!

  • @Camillegutman Thom Yorke sent me here too!!! UNITE

  • Thom

  • 0:45 = say WHAT!

  • @mrandmrsbrolly how the fuck does he do that!!!!!

  • @jontykint 1. It's some kind of stereo plug-in/fx

    2. it's magic

    3. or the track was originally mixed stereo, but mixed down as mono, and then he just cracked open the can of stereo for 3 secs @ 0:45. no more, no less.

  • @mrandmrsbrolly Definatly 2!

  • @mrandmrsbrolly I thought that was really cool. I'm no expert but it sounds like some quick panning through my monitors. If I put my ear in front of one speaker it sounds pretty normal but listening to them both at the same time it fucks with my ears. No matter what it is, it sounds pretty cool.

  • come back way oh wai uh - come jah de uh wai oooh

  • @InfiltrateIndustries great album hahahah 420
