Hi Wearyoldman, I'm still listening to your superb offering and it's Christmas time 2011 and by God I'm loving this song and I always will. Thanks again.l
Cass Elliot will always be my favourite Mamas & Papas member. As much as Michelle was beautiful, Cass looked warmer, happier and had the amazing voice. I was sad to read about how she died but like Michelle said, Cass "died a very happy woman". God bless her.
The Beach Boys and Cass Elliot - two "sounds" or voices that are so iconic of classic American 60's pop. Sends shivers down my spine to hear her magical voice after all this time.
i dont know anything about this girl or her arguements with her group what i do know is its a lovely song and i think she is an extremely attractive woman godbless and r.i.p.
I think Cass and Michelle maintained a very close relationship after "the ugliness". She called Michelle and raved to her about the standing ovations that she was getting in London. In fact, she was the last person Cass talked to before she died.
@alonsegal1992 Michelle and Denny had an affair, got her kicked out of the group temporarily. Cass was in love with Denny, though he didn't feel the same way.
Love the picture of cass on the phone. Her face lights up the room when she smiles!! so beautiful! Could have done without the pics.of Michelle Phillips, since she broke Cass's heart over the whole Denny thing. Her loss ! Cass was a great lady, and a Beautiful human being.
I would have respected her wishes by not calling her "Mama" but it was meant with a lot of love. I didn't think of Mamas & Papas or her being heavy when I hear "Mama Cass", but just being one cool, hip, and hot lady. That's what she was anyway. She rocks on somewhere.
A #30 hit on the North American chart from August '69, this was Mama Cass' second-highest placing as a solo artist - with the first being "Dream A Little Dream Of Me" (#12 Aug '68). Kudos to Nestea and their commercial for reviving this nostalgic, beloved song
This is absolutely wonderful......it takes me back to '69 when I was only 16. I loved Mama Cass then and you know, I still do. It just seems kind of natural and right! Yeah Mama, right on.
@MrCainandabel Nice one MrCainandabel. I am glad this brought back happy memories for you. I just feel a sweet contentment deep inside. Thanks for taking the time to comment.
My mum used to sing this song to me and my brother as little boys - then we went into care and never saw her again and I was separated from my brother until I found him again in my teens - he was then murdered. Naturally it makes me cry each time I hear it. Live for today guys
thank god for you tube so we can listen to brilliant SONGS like this, because they aint songs today... rap, hip hop, what the fooks all that about. Whats happened to the world, the youth of today aint got a clue bout good music
have any of you noticed that funny commercials or good one's always use older songs rather than the new crappy shit today (lady gaga, taylor swift, bieber ect..) because they fit the mood more and are just better overall?
To my shame,I don't know a huge amount about this 'icon' from the 60s,I'm 50 so I was just a kid then.I don't even know how popular she may have been here in Briatin.Though of course I recognise this song. What strikes me,seeing all these 'old' videos of such 'stars',is just how unaffected they all were. They all came across as just regular people who loved their music & wanted to entertain. Now,well it's all manufactured trash,no soul,no passion,no joy! I wanna be a kid again, lol!
@MrArratoon Your post is repulsive and inexcusable. Furthermore, what's your point? It's unfortunate that she struggled so much with her weight and that she ultimately died because she couldn't get it under control, but she made beautiful music that inspired a lot of people. That legacy is far more important than her physical appearance, and her contribution to music will outlive such shallowness.
@musiclrach I don't care who you're talking to. I don't care who you think you are. I don't care what kid is throwing toys out of their pram. I don't. I think you just won the internet. <3
Love is a verb. I love you means I am willing to endure whatever comes our way because there is a connection between us based on our souls.
I see in you goodness , warmth, kindness, a light that shines from the deepest part of you ...outward.
We practice love when we listen, learn, go out of our way to do things for each other, not necessarily for ourselves, even though the giving comes back.
So. RL. I love you too. You are my friend, companion, partner in many things.
@homersmith10 This was recorded in 1969. The Mamas and the Papas broke up in 1968 and for contractual reasons reunited in 1970 to produce their last album. The second and final split happened in 1971.

Love Baltimore's own, Miss Cass's voice. Great classic late 60's up beat song! Few and way far between these days. She was fun and had a great sense of humor as well. God Bless you Cass we love you!

This is what William Garrison was listening to when the Manson family was killing Sharon Tate & her friends.

@plofus Interesting-that's a grim Irony-what role did Garrison play in the ugly deed?

@GalaxyHorse I wish he would write a book about his life leading up to & after, that must have been terrifying.

Love Baltimore's own, Miss Cass's voice. Great classic late 60's up beat song! Few and way far between these days. She was fun and had a great sense of humor as well. God Bless you Cass we love you!
