  • Excellent,when music was music!

  • "See you in another life brother"

  • I heard this song at lunchtime in HMV and just had to listen to it again. Just lovely.

  • WAAAAALT!!

  • She had a gorgeous voice Cass??? end of really. respect girl

  • SONG FROM MY CHILDHOOD!!!!!! :D

  • Great song!!! ;-)

  • Michelle is so beautiful. She reminds me of a old great love.

  • Beautiful thing!

  • Cass had a flawless voice. I love this song to this day.

  • LOST! :D

  • its a right feel good song - love it

  • i love this Song!!

  • Hi Wearyoldman, I'm still listening to your superb offering and it's Christmas time 2011 and by God I'm loving this song and I always will. Thanks again.l

  • Ugh, if I could have anyone's voice, I would want hers. Or Michael Buble's.

  • What a great post. I totally agree.

  • is this wonderful or what

    judewhytye@ireland.com

  • We all have our have our favourite songs of the 60's..this is one of mine!!..the SIXTIES!!!!..What a wonderful era!!!

  • Like if nestea ad brought you here!

  • @kizacolo I here you.

  • she died so young...

    she was only 33...

  • Beautiful Thing brought me here! :)

  • i think they're all dead now except michelle !! great song though rip cass

  • I have goose bumps when i'm listening this...i'm only 20 and i miss (?) that times, especially the music...thanks nestea to brought me here :)

  • My mum used to play her solo record all the time in the car in 2001, reminds me of simplier times

  • im here because michael from lost tried to kill himself while this song was playing.

  • 3 people ain't getting better

  • She always looked like she was having so much fun , i dont see that in many people .

  • Cass Elliot will always be my favourite Mamas & Papas member. As much as Michelle was beautiful, Cass looked warmer, happier and had the amazing voice. I was sad to read about how she died but like Michelle said, Cass "died a very happy woman". God bless her.

  • nice

  • Just lovely

  • Brilliant lyrics

  • The Beach Boys and Cass Elliot - two "sounds" or voices that are so iconic of classic American 60's pop. Sends shivers down my spine to hear her magical voice after all this time.

    From a UK fan.

  • @AnUrgeInWedgeways Did you know that the 80s group wilson phillips were the offspring of wilson-beach boys and phillips-mamas and papas : )

  • i dont know anything about this girl or her arguements with her group what i do know is its a lovely song and i think she is an extremely attractive woman godbless and r.i.p.

  • I think Cass and Michelle maintained a very close relationship after "the ugliness". She called Michelle and raved to her about the standing ovations that she was getting in London. In fact, she was the last person Cass talked to before she died.

  • @4string59 Yes... you are absolutely right. Cass and Michelle remained good friends right up to the end.

  • @4string59 I love that song, it reminds me a lot of childhood memories, i miss her so much :( Love you

    Mama

  • @4string59

    what do you mean "ugliness"?

they had some sort of "fight" before they splitted up?

  • @alonsegal1992 Michelle and Denny had an affair, got her kicked out of the group temporarily. Cass was in love with Denny, though he didn't feel the same way.

  • Love the picture of cass on the phone. Her face lights up the room when she smiles!! so beautiful! Could have done without the pics.of Michelle Phillips, since she broke Cass's heart over the whole Denny thing. Her loss ! Cass was a great lady, and a Beautiful human being.

  • kocham te babe mame cass :) cudny glos, cudny nastrój!

  • I would have respected her wishes by not calling her "Mama" but it was meant with a lot of love. I didn't think of Mamas & Papas or her being heavy when I hear "Mama Cass", but just being one cool, hip, and hot lady. That's what she was anyway. She rocks on somewhere.

  • pure bubble gum songs....

  • I love this song, thankyou! Feeling this lately. Cheers!!

  • This was the first record bought for me - I was 2 years old! Apparently I used to love it ................ funny that cos 42 years on I still do!!!!

  • A very positive song, I keep listening to it. And it's getting better.

  • Mama Cass makes me so happy.

  • only the good die young

  • this song is so romantic....how love can grow between friends....

  • @tlw1950 I agree.

  • ...and what a voice. Flawless.

  • Thanks for posting! What a record! I swear the hair on the back of neck stands up straighter every time I listen to this!

  • A #30 hit on the North American chart from August '69, this was Mama Cass' second-highest placing as a solo artist - with the first being "Dream A Little Dream Of Me" (#12 Aug '68). Kudos to Nestea and their commercial for reviving this nostalgic, beloved song

  • This is absolutely wonderful......it takes me back to '69 when I was only 16. I loved Mama Cass then and you know, I still do. It just seems kind of natural and right! Yeah Mama, right on.

  • @MrCainandabel Nice one MrCainandabel. I am glad this brought back happy memories for you. I just feel a sweet contentment deep inside. Thanks for taking the time to comment.

  • @wearyoldman 2 nice comments from yourself and mr cainandabel nice to know that there are least 2 decent people left on the planet

  • @scits1 Thanks. I think it's safe to say there are at least 3.

  • My mum used to sing this song to me and my brother as little boys - then we went into care and never saw her again and I was separated from my brother until I found him again in my teens - he was then murdered. Naturally it makes me cry each time I hear it. Live for today guys

  • thank god for you tube so we can listen to brilliant SONGS like this, because they aint songs today... rap, hip hop, what the fooks all that about. Whats happened to the world, the youth of today aint got a clue bout good music

  • have any of you noticed that funny commercials or good one's always use older songs rather than the new crappy shit today (lady gaga, taylor swift, bieber ect..) because they fit the mood more and are just better overall?

  • Where the hell did our GREAT MUSIC go to....

  • mama cass at her best wat a voice.

  • this is a sick song,, this is the only song of this genre or any other genre other than rap that i listen too....

  • I loved this song on Lost and I can not stop listening to this song, it is my favorite song of all time!

  • Thank you Nestea :)

  • Great song & video Thanks so much! Peace & ♥

  • LOST brought me here! :D

  • THUMBS UP IF YOU KNOW THIS FROM THE LIPTON ICE TEA COMMERCIAL HAHAHAHAHHAHAHAHAHAHAHHAHAHAHAHAHHAAHHAHA

  • I admit, the Nestea commercial brought me here, but I already love Cass AND I love Nestea so it's a win either way. :D

  • actually more like ed norton. Maybe a Norton/Franco love child

  • lol, dude on the right of first pic looks a bit like James Franco

  • To my shame,I don't know a huge amount about this 'icon' from the 60s,I'm 50 so I was just a kid then.I don't even know how popular she may have been here in Briatin.Though of course I recognise this song. What strikes me,seeing all these 'old' videos of such 'stars',is just how unaffected they all were. They all came across as just regular people who loved their music & wanted to entertain. Now,well it's all manufactured trash,no soul,no passion,no joy! I wanna be a kid again, lol!

  • Quality :)

  • what a wonderful uplifting song. Mama Cass was just the best

  • like if the nestea commercial with the old lady brought u here :D

  • @fierfly25 best commercial ever! lol

  • I dedicate this song to the U.S. economy (oops!)

  • @MrArratoon Your post is repulsive and inexcusable. Furthermore, what's your point? It's unfortunate that she struggled so much with her weight and that she ultimately died because she couldn't get it under control, but she made beautiful music that inspired a lot of people. That legacy is far more important than her physical appearance, and her contribution to music will outlive such shallowness.

  • @musiclrach I don't care who you're talking to. I don't care who you think you are. I don't care what kid is throwing toys out of their pram. I don't. I think you just won the internet. <3

  • Mama Cass, I love you wherever you are. You'll always be in my heart.

  • Like this if you came here because of a TV commercial!

  • FANTASTICO

  • Nestea thank u xD

  • like if you looked this up because of lost

  • cass such life,RIPx

  • Oh the memories! I was 22 and she was 75. Our time together was short lived when she dared us to jump off a cliff. XD

  • Lost brought me here

  • @Theo56340 You're wrong. Jacob brought you here. He brought you here for a reason.

  • Michelle Philips is absolutely stunning - there is a purity and naturalness in her beauty

  • super fecking duper\!!

  • Thumbs up for Nestea

  • That stupid Nestea commercial brought me here......Nice song though

  • @ionuorah me too !! i went out and bought the cd

  • Her voice was so crystal clear...what a gift she was given.

  • This is the best song Cass Elliot ever song - such positive, uplifting lyrics - makes me smile every time I hear it!

  • I think Cass looks gorgeous!! Miss her a lot.

  • i really miss one of her most beautiful songs "the good times are coming" from the movie monte walsh

  • @A1k2tgTJ Well the song has been on youtube for a while. youtube-search "the good times are coming extended version"

  • thumbs up if you know that fom "lost"

  • i think Mama was hiding a ham sandwich in her fist at 2:39

  • @YayhooTube Your comment is not funny , RETARD!

  • Holy shit, Michelle Phillips looks like my mum when my mum was younger with a different nose. eerie.

  • @mkoerss Then your mum would have been really pretty when she was young :) .

  • Thumbs up if a certain commercial led you here.

  • Love is a verb. I love you means I am willing to endure whatever comes our way because there is a connection between us based on our souls.

I see in you goodness , warmth, kindness, a light that shines from the deepest part of you ...outward.

We practice love when we listen, learn, go out of our way to do things for each other, not necessarily for ourselves, even though the giving comes back.

So. RL. I love you too. You are my friend, companion, partner in many things.

    Shalom Love.

  • @PolandBoy14 Horrible comment Polandboy14.Let's hope you're never RAPED you muppet !!! Pax to all from 73soulboy.Xxx.

  • Desmond Hume

  • Beautiful young lady with an Amazing Voice!

  • LOST brought me here

  • Nestea :D

  • I was 5 years old.

  • This was a post Mamas and papas project right?

  • @homersmith10 This was recorded in 1969. The Mamas and the Papas broke up in 1968 and for contractual reasons reunited in 1970 to produce their last album. The second and final split happened in 1971.

  • @wearyoldman Thanks. I thought so.

  • Can't think of anyone who has a voice to match this ladys

  • she died so sudden.....she will remain in our hearts forever!!!!!!:)

  • Thank you fanta commercial! ;)

  • I remember this song from when I was a little girl. So happy to hear it in the new Nestea commercial.

  • Thumbs up if this song reminds you of the Nestea commercial with the guy spinning the bottle to get the old woman....

I heard that commercial and had to find out the song and singer...this Cass lady is good, I like her voice, and her song!

  • Thumbs up if this song makes you think of Cass Elliot, not lost.

  • There is one godd reason to watch advertisements in TV: they help us to find nice songs like this. :) (Nestea)

  • @moussemouseful the same here!:D

  • @Googaify nie 'the same here' tylko 'same here'

  • @agata521 o matko, zrobiłam błąd! o.o co teraz będzie?! Proponuję wstawić mi 1 do dzienniczka -.-

  • >>thumbs up if this song makes you think of Lost!<<

Eh? What about the wonderful film "Beautiful Thing"?

  • GREAT SONG.....but the video is completely out of place. This is a solo by Cass Elliot. Showing the others makes no sense.

  • I was 10 years old ,attending a De La Salle School in Dublin, Ireland and this was no 1 in the charts ...but young as I was back then , man i was just swept alongwith this ....how could one not ? lol .......thank you mama cass for making the world a better place with songs like this back then and for generations to appreciate now ,god bless you xxxx

  • I was 10 years old ,attending a De La Sall school in Dublin, Ireland and this was no 1 in the charts ...but young as I was back then , man i was just swept alongwith this ....how could one not ? lol .......thank you mama cass for making the world a better place with songs like this back then and for generations to appreciate now ,god bless you xxxx

  • WALT !!!

  • LOST

  • brilliant!! Really lovely, heart-warming. Those were the days!! No rap, no hip hob rubbish, no mobiles and no digi this and digi that. And what a gorgeous-looking girl Michelle Phillips was!!

  • @cristabele1959 Thanks cristabele. Michelle is in her mid-sixties now and she still looks gorgeous. She is the last surviving original member of the group.

  • @wearyoldman Didn't realise Michelle was the last man standing. Bit of a shock that!

Still she was/is a beautiful looking woman...and the Mamas and Papas bloody brilliant. Mama Cass? What can I say a voice to die for.

Robin Topping - Mauchline Ayrshire UK 10th June 2011

  • I am the eternal optimist and this is my theme song. So beautiful. I can listen to it over and over and never get tired of it. Her voice has that special quality that only Edit Piaf had and she was maybe the greatest chanttruse there ever was. Only the good die young (so they say) and this goes double and triple for her.

  • @cristabele1959 exactly... those were the days when people made MUSIC, not this nowadays crap :/ I'm so sad I couldn't even live in those times :/ I'd give anything to go back in time...

  • it,s me again i just can,t help listening to this song iv listened to it all my adult life and it makes me think of what i could have done differently and it,s still as brilliant as the first time i heard it,

  • This song is used as an advertisement for a supermarket in Ireland - part of me thinks that is a shame but part of me thinks that it is bringing Cass' sound to a new generation who might not have heard it otherwise

  • Fantastic era for songwriting

  • I just found out she died at 32, so sad, she was so young and was so talented

  • thanks for uploading this song i fell in love aged 15 for the first time in my life and this song says all the words i couldnt say then.

  • @spot1790 You're welcome and thanks for such a brilliant comment.

  • @spot1790 I so agree, thanks cristabele, I thought I was Mama Cass back then. Adored everything she did. She will be in my heart forever.

  • Brilliant.heard it on the way to work this morning, and have had the song in my head all day..A definate feelgood tune and lyrics

  • she had a wonderful voice .. this is such a great feelgood song, I love playing it in the car ..

  • 2 People's hands slipped when they went to click the like button. ¬__¬

  • Thumps up if you knew this song before Lost!

  • and it's getting better everyday when I listen to this wonderfully optimistic song...

  • wonderful song...makes you feel great! thank you ;-)

  • God, I wish I felt this way again.

  • This is what William Garrison was listening to when the Manson family was killing Sharon Tate & her friends.

  • @plofus Interesting-that's a grim Irony-what role did Garrison play in the ugly deed?

  • @GalaxyHorse I wish he would write a book about his life leading up to & after, that must have been terrifying.

  • Man. Her voice. Two words = pure HEAVEN.

  • Love Baltimore's own, Miss Cass's voice. Great classic late 60's up beat song! Few and way far between these days. She was fun and had a great sense of humor as well. God Bless you Cass we love you!
