  • She was so kind, shy and beautiful ... and he's an idiot! XD

  • How romantic!!!!! :-)

  • First, I love late 70's and early 80's newscast! Top quality! haha Second, wearing no slip! So scandalous! haha This video is funny to me.

  • Charles only used her for having kids! He couldnt have any with Camilla could he? Despite all this false shit for the cameras he was still shafting Camilla on the side! Tut tut.

  • i will never be able to understand what Charles sees in Camilla :-/

  • Kate Middleton is already better looking than Diana was at that age.

  • 4:18-5:24 the Earl Spencer is clearly sluring in his speech during this interview. He suffered a stroke due to his alcoholism a few years before his daughter got married.

  • 0:42-0:51 Lady Diana doesn't look too enthused in this photo op for ITN.

  • Believe me, if I had a wife as beautiful as Lady Diana I would never be unfaithful to her.

  • Charles is a cock !!!

  • @amozito18 Yes I do.

  • does anyone know where to find the transcript of this interview? I've been looking for it on the internet but I've been unsuccesful in finding it..

  • As far as the "Charles is ugly" comments are concerned, what exactly was he supposed to do about that? Have extensive cosmetic surgery? Wigs? Would he really look better?

  • @GingerGilligan Who cares about what he looks like. He's a bastard, plain and simple. He's half to blame for destroying Diana. He and his whore Camilla - couple of class-A assholes!

  • @ApricotsMariska OK, first I am not a Camilla fan. I am a Charles & Diana fan. I grew up in the 80's, C+D were like second parents to me. I find myself constantly defending one or the other on here, now I'm in defend Charles mode. Diana had issues that nobody knew about when he married her. Do a little research on what it's like to have a loved one with an eating disorder. It's HELL.

  • @GingerGilligan Perhaps you need to watch the interviews given by Diana. Her eating disorders began when that bastard Charles told her she was getting chubby, the day of the engagement interview. That triggered something in her mind. ALL SHE WANTED WAS FOR THAT INBRED BASTARD TO LOVE HER. Sounds like you've never been cheated on by the man you love! Let me tell you that it is nothing short of a living HELL! If Charles ascends the throne it will be the end of the monarchy completely!

  • @GingerGilligan I realize the fact that you have some kind of strange fetish attraction for Charles. That is not a reason to defend a man who completely ruined a beautiful young woman's life. There is so much more to it that either you don't know about, or have chosen not to believe it. Put your strange attraction for Charles to the side and look at the whole picture. He was sleeping with Camilla throughout the entire marriage, he's a manipulative liar!

  • @GingerGilligan Were you aware that there is a clause in the Church of England that a the heir to the throne can't remarry if he has heirs & his ex-wife is still living? That is enough proof for me that the royal family had her liquidated, that and the fact that she was dating a Muslim - which was none of their f*cking business. Chuck was screwing Camilla for years during her marriage too, what of her husband? He couldn't say or do anything about it considering who Charles is! That's DISGUSTING!

  • @GingerGilligan PS I DO have a loved one with an eating disorder you genius! I would not turn my back on her for the world. That is when they need you the most, they need love, support and most of all they need you to be there for them. I don't need to research this, I am living through it. You're coming up with so many disgusting ways to put Charles on a pedestal as if he's an innocent - HE IS NOT!! He was a neglectful, cheating husband who was jealous of his young popular wife. He's a knob!

  • @GingerGilligan Hopefully it's not the fact that Charles had a wish to be Camilla's tampax that has caused you to have such strong feelings for him! You're turning a blind eye to so much. He's a public figure who has acted without grace or decorum his entire adult life. He is not one to look up to and admire, nor is he mentally fit to take the throne.

  • @ApricotsMariska But Lady Di certainly is someone to look up to and admire.

  • @67nairb Yes, she really was. She is what made me proud that we have a monarchy. Now that she is gone (the royals had her eliminated), I just don't care about any of the royals anymore. Diana brought life and beauty into an establishment that people were losing interest in and growing tired of. Now it is nothing but an embarrassment. If Charles does succeed his mother, it will definitely be the end of the monarchy forever. He has already begun to rot it's very foundations. So sad! RIP Diana!

  • @ApricotsMariska I'm assuming that you're British judging from the beginning of your comment when you said that Diana is "what made me proud that we have a monarchy." And you really think that the Royals had her eliminated.

  • @67nairb I am Canadian. The Monarchy of Great Britain also covers what is called "The Commonwealth". We fall under that & yes, they are also our monarchy. I truly believe they had Diana eliminated, too many questions unanswered & far too many cover-ups. Much can be learned from the John King interview posted on youtube. If you can't find it please let me know, I'll direct you to it. I have also read many books in regards to this and have followed it since her death. It was all too "convenient".

  • @ApricotsMariska I apologize. I forgot that the Dominion of Canada is still part of the British Commonwealth; therefore making Canada a monarchy. I had a deep passionate love for Princess Diana, she was my first crush and when I heard about her death in that car crash on 8/31/97 I was very, very, very, very, upset. Diana was the only celebrity in the world I actually cried for, that will never happen to me again. It took four months for me to actually get over her death.

  • @ApricotsMariska Yes I very much loved Lady Diana which is why I was so upset over her tragic death and I did for a while believe that her fatal car crash was not a freak accident, that there might have been some conspiracy within the British establishment and Royal Family to have Diana murdered. But even I have come to terms with her tragic death, that it was just a freak accident with drunken chauffer at the wheel who was 3 times the alcohol limit and driving at 100 miles per hour.

  • @ApricotsMariska It's really surprisng that controversial movie make Oliver Stone has not directed a movie about Diana and the controversy surrounding her death. After all, Stone did make the movie JFK which dealt with conspiracy theories surrounding Kennedy's assasination. BTW most people in this country and around the world do believe that JFK's assasination was a national conspiracy.

  • @67nairb I agree with you. From the things I've heard, read and watched - the JFK assassination was most certainly an inside job. A true national conspiracy. I've seen a documentary in which they showed the shooting in slow motion, it was so gruesome, but the bullet that killed him was from a completely different direction than from the man they said shot him. It's said that the US CIA was also involved in Diana's death as well. It was international. So sad the times we live in.

  • @ApricotsMariska It was probably an international conspiracy to assassinate JFK too. The Cuban govt. of Fidel Castro probably wanted to kill Kennedy for the Bay of Bigs fiasco in 1961 for the latter's thwarting of the Cuban Missile Crisis of 1962. There's even speculation that the Soviet govt. of Nikita Khrushchev had a hand in the Kennedy assassination. Khrushchev it was said was furious with Kennedey for making him look bad during the Cuban Missile crisis and he wanted some sort of revenge.

  • @ApricotsMariska Is there evidence that the CIA was involved in her death?

  • @67nairb Why would the CIA kill Diana?

  • @MikeMths35 That's what I'm trying to ask.

  • @GingerGilligan I'm definitely just a Diana fan. I had such an infatuation with her and a huge crush on her. I thought of Diana as my personal friend. What's sadly ironic is that I've come to love Diana even more now that she's dead than when she was alive. Ironic isn't it?

  • @GingerGilligan He is a prince, he could certainly afford extensive plastic surgery.

  • How could Diana love Charles, he was damn ugly! he was even more ugly when he was young than what he is now!

  • @aeronuk1 Yes some people get looking with age.

  • @aeronuk1 I mean some people get "better" looking with age.

  • Christ how can she be in love w/ man she's met less then 20x's at under 20 yrs old ..a man who was old enough to be her uncle! At least something good came out of that unification ..the 2 princes. Prince Wills is a sweetheart & humble like his mom who can deny that. Di & her son is the best thing that ever happened for England in the eyes of the modern world

  • LOL at the old adverts!

  • I like Diana and the newly wedd Will Kate

  • So sad that she was so unhappy in a marriage on which she pinned such high hopes and that she would never live to see 37 years of age let alone be queen.

  • Princes Charles is blind and stupid. .....he's should not being a Princes.....waste citizens moneys...He's sucks....What a pity on Princess Diana.....I love her so much.....now the Princes married to Carmila?....who' s Carmila....she's wants the positions which is Princess Diana own that title?...what a pity Carmila.....she's thought citizens will call her Princess? no no no citizens will call her WHORE

  • Princess Diana was GORGEOUS!!!!!

  • yeah charles like horse look at him he likes camilla...

  • whatever love means..

  • It's so sad when you watch this and know what has happened since.

    xxx

  • loved the product placement at the beginning!

  • @TheBluePearlGirl More tea, vicar?

  • yes..very difficult having any respect for prince nobhead. Even less after marrying Cowmila

  • yes..very difficult having any respect for prince nobhead.

  • They got married too fast. This won't happen with wills and kate cuz theyve been dating for 8 years

  • charles. what.a.nobhead!!!!!!!!

  • ki muleki feimmm

  • @amozito18 It is the highlight of 2011 and I had recorded everything to do with the eventf rom 6.00 am to midnight. Bear in mind that my main comment on here was made a few months before their engagement was made.

  • Well put Rebelrambie and GeorgeASFTHM. I couldn't agree more. So very, very sad. I miss those early days of their relationship etc. If only Camilla had BUDDED OUT. I blame her immensely. She should have let them be. Maybe Charles and Diana could have found a way to make it work. I think there was promise; Charles wanted it to work but he never understood how, having such a repressed upbringing. I hate Camilla the most out of this entire mess. She was an opportunist and manipulator. COW :(

  • She wouldve adored catherine

  • I'm sure Diana and Charles were once very much in love at one point. He looked real sincere in this video. It's not hard to love a beautiful noble lady like Diana. But they needed too much of the same thing that became a problem. Diana needed a man who paid lots of attention to her, like that Egyptian man. Charles needed a woman who is calm, who can give him the love and comfort without asking much, like Camella. They were a mismatch, but they didn't see it at the beginning.

  • @jasper2008ify but we don't have little sly comments like "whatever love is" to tell us otherwise, they've been together for years, plus you can just see it in interviews/the wedding, either they're amazing actors or will&kate are genuinely in love.

  • thank god we've finally got a royal couple that actually love each other

  • I always feel so sorry for those two. She obviously got the short end of things with him and his adultery and lack of feeling for her. And he had been pressured out of a life with the woman he loved by his family and into choosing one they agreed with (at least at first - along the way they probably wished they had said yes to Camilla from the start!). I think they made each other very unhappy. I am not trying to assign guilt to either party, I'm just saying its' so sad what it all came to.

  • @uclmu2008 so true

  • totally not the right thing to say, you dick..

  • he's just one of those people you want to smack... "whatever in love means..." wrong answer!

  • @frankietommoo100 LOL yeah, a good hard bitch-slap across his stupid looking face! He's got the dumbest look to him. I heard his parents are 2nd cousings - that's what I consider inbreeding. There's no hope for the guy and clearly HM QEII needs to face reality, her son is too inept to take on the responsibility of a Monarch. William for King! He clearly demonstrates compassion and a clear level-headedness, something Charles is simply incapable of. He's lost the respect of the majority.

  • @frankietommoo100

Woopsy, I meant to write "cousins" not cousings.

  • The old 90's add at the beginning was a real bonus :D

Lovely interview. I miss these days.

  • @TomKennyIsLovely 90s? The interview was in the early 80s.

  • @RylandoMusic Sorry, that's what I meant ^_^ My bad!

  • Did i hear him say and HERS IN PARTICULAR @2.33... DAMN. Would have thrown the ring back in his face or better still walk out with it

  • Princess Diana doesn't seem happy with Prince Charles

  • I think Diana's dad is drunk...

  • @luckydi19 If you watch footage of the royal wedding Diana's father is wobbling all the way up the aisle! Poor Diana...You can see her trying to hold on....awful.

  • @Trund27 What you guys don't seem to understand is that her dad had had a "brain hemorrhage" or what we call a "stroke" here in the States. He had had it about a year before, and he was still recovering. :)

    -=W=-

  • @WandaBBWFantasy Damn. I am dumb. Damn.

  • @Trund27 LOL Not saying you're "dumb", just wanted to clear the air for the poor man. :(

    -=W=-

  • @WandaBBWFantasy Well said. I sometimes jump to conclusions. YouTube is great for connecting and hopefully getting the right info

    Cheers from Canada!

  • @WandaBBWFantasy that makes sense my fault, and thanks for clarifying that :) I am glad my comment did not offend you :)

  • @luckydi19 Aww! No way, I wasn't offended. But, if you woulda caught me at a different time of the month, that might have been different. LOL Being a woman sucks one week out of the month. ;) Besides, YouTube really is a great way of communicating. I try to be helpful and respectful at all times...:) Best wishes to you and yours...

    -=W=-

  • @WandaBBWFantasy LOL I know that's right :)

  • @luckydi19 He'd survived a stroke you fool which had left him with dysphasia.

  • @sleepypoodle dang RELAX!! I didn't know, you act like I insulted the man!

  • @luckydi19 Hopefully you'll learn to equip yourself with the facts next time...although I won't hold my breath. It's bizarre how some people are so defensive by default instead of having the courage and good grace to admit that they made a mistake, but feel free to post another angry, indignant little reply, I've come to expect it on this site.

  • @sleepypoodle Well if your pompous, egotistical self would allow you to see the obvious, I did reply, "I did not know" so clearly I had "the good grace to admit" that I made a mistake. Also, if you’re so quick to talk about being defensive you should go back and read your own comment. And just to make it clear, I am not the angry one because it didn't take me two days to reply to such a petty comment that was undoubtedly eating you up.

  • @luckydi19 'Eating me up'...don't flatter yourself, and take a chill pill you hysterical little girl.

  • Lastly, if you feel that the comments that I or other people have posted are indignant and/or angry, then it's one simple task that you should take upon your self, and that would be don't get on YouTube or read the comments, because you are literally taking them to heart.

  • @luckydi19 I think you're the one who needs to avoid reading youtube comments as you're continuing to demonstrate that you're far too immature to graciously accept when you are wrong. But keep the literary diarrhoea flowing if it rocks your boat.

  • @sleepypoodle You responding just proved that it's still eating you up and i'm not flattering my self, just stating the facts. By the way you must be old and since I respect older senile people then I forgive all your little comments. I mean your just looking for something to make time go by right? Wont hold it against you.

  • 0:11 sounds like the GE jingle

  • why did charles marry diana when he was in love with camilla....

why ruin an innocent person's life who gave everything to u?

  • @onemin1986

you can tell he does not want to marry her by the way he scatches his nose in two questions. charles was odered to marry diana by his parents. the queen is the bad guy coz what mother would order her son to marry a young girl, and ruined her life and the life of her son.

shame on the queen for not saying wait till she is 21+ and diana's family did not protect her either.

some girls at 19 R not street wise and she had no idea that being a princess was not going to be a fairytale.

  • @onemin1986 Because he was forbidden to marry Camilla by his mother, she lacked the right pedigree and in those days he had to marry a virgin with Royal ancestry, he was very much a victim of this prehistoric royal beaurocracy. But thankfully lessons were learned from his unhappy union with Diana which is why William was allowed to marry Catherine, 20 years ago their marriage would also have been forbidden.

  • oh dear, charles cant remember the first time they met and when they ask charles what point did you decide this was the right lady for you his reaction is hilarious... well...gradually and due to something going on in her mind in particular and all these things help haha. when is love ever gradual? her dad sounds drunk

  • @222gemini Diana's father suffered with dysphasia due to a stroke which caused him to slur his speech and struggle to walk.

  • will one day be known as "Queen Diana"..... such a sad story

  • prince charles is such a pompous prick !

  • Charles sounded pervy talking about Diana as a cute 16 year old.

  • @szqsk8 she was 16 years old?:|

  • @marilo0100 No, Hon. He met her when she was only 16. He briefly dated her Sister Jane, but he waited until she was 19 when he realized he was in love with her.

  • @laminage so he loved her?right?

  • @marilo0100 I believe he did but when you grow up with all of these Rules and Protocol and your spouse has do with with this overnight, it can be quite challenging. However, I know that deep in his heart, Charles will always love Diana because she gave him William and Harry.

  • @laminage you absolutely right!

  • @TheBluePearlGirl weddings on the 29th not the 24th april.

  • Check out my Prince Charles video

  • wow IT WAS A GRADUAL BUSINESS!!

  • Princess Diana gave up her life to be with a man she then love. I can see that she's sincere about her feelings for him. I feel sorry for her.

  • @eriann20 me too i mean princess diana loves him butr he cheated on her.

  • I too remember William being born and Diana coming out of the Lindo Wing with him in her arms I can't wait for the royal wedding I'm so excited I have already told everyone the phone can ring all day I won't be picking up :-)

  • @TheBluePearlGirl I agree , it was really terrible what he said. But i do think that you can see you he does love her in a way i think.

  • Diana has this cute way of talking. Even though she was very shy in the earlier days she still in the later days had this way of talking with her head down. Its cute.

  • I actually remember this I remember the excietment of the whole royal wedding I remeber when she came to our home town we all had the day off school she had her head down all the time and charles did all the talking I was about 8 at the time, I'm 37 now.

  • the queen killed her !!

  • What a refined beautiful young woman. I can't believe she was only 19. She had so much grace about her.

  • I move from fucking England if Charles will be king!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Oh my Goodness, William sounds like Charles. Yesterday I watched the engagement interview of William and Kate and now I watched that and a flashback happened to me. First I thought: "William???" And Diana's father looks like her brother Charles.

  • Charles says: the engagement was a gradual 'buisness'. it is clear he is not 'in love' with her. it is clear from his words and body language. Dianna was young, innocent, and perhaps nieve and probaly 'thought' she loved him and was swepped away with the whole fairy tale of it all and becoming a wife. It is clear this is an arrangement or a business to him. So cold. A lot of people view marriage and relationships like that these days. I feel it is really sad. does real love exist??

  • "What an attractive sixteen year old she was". He was 29. 29! Ick.

  • @waverleysteps she was 19

  • @twilightpri1994 She was 19 when she got married. I'm not referring to that, I'm referring to when Charles mentions that he thought she was attractive at 16 years old. He was 29 at the time.

  • That voiceover sounds like Fern Britton.

  • Wow, it's amazing to see that beautiful ring that was once on Diana's finger, now on Kate Middleton's. I really hope things turn out the best for them. Prince William after all seems to have inherited his mother's warm and sweet disposition, very much opposite of his emotionless father.

  • @justfornow14 Absolutely! William and Kate seem very much in love

  • Did anyone else cringe at 6:32 - 6:34?

  • @emiynu I waited to see why you cringed and I cringed also....."Queen Diana",........ Wasn't gonna happen.

  • "Whatever in love means". Run Diana! That should have been a tip off!

  • Looking back it is quite hard to tell that it wasn't really a marriage made in Heaven, but the signs are all there.

There's an odd tension in the room, a lot of looking at the floor (esp 2:40-2:48) and, of course, the infamous "Whatever in love means" (which isn't in this video)

Seems a lot different to Wills & Kate (or is that just me?)

  • @tdp1909 Well, seeing as Diana was about 19 and had been with Charles for barely a year, and Kate is 28 and has been with William for 8 years, I'd say they really couldn't be more different.

  • @aquagrl63 True - does seem more likely to last...

  • @aquagrl63 duh!!!

  • It's hard to believe she was only 19 here...for one she looks very mature, but at the same time she was just a kid. Kate is much more mature and prepared for this role than Diana was, that's for sure.

  • Not only has God forbidden adultery, but the son of God himself said, "Whoso looketh on a woman to lust after her, hath committed adultery with her already in his heart" --- Matthew 5:28

This passage applies to Charles has done. He defiled his marriage bed with Diana. Not only was he unfaithful to his wife physically, in his heart he was too.

Charles married another man's wife, Camilla. This is also an adulterous offense, marrying another man's wife.

All three of them are going to hell.

  • @SnickleFritz79

    Lol.

  • @SnickleFritz79 OMG... SHUT UP FUCK UP... THERE IS SO MANY COUPLES IN THE WORLD THAT ARE IN ADULTERY. THEIR IS NOTHING YOU CAN DO.

  • @whateverloca Charles, Diana, and Whormilla could have repented for their sin. That is what they could have done, but instead they chose to sin away their day of grace.

Adultery is a criminal offense against the Lord almighty.

  • @whateverloca Why don't you shut up! Adultery is wrong in so many ways! You're sick and twisted. Camilla and Charles are twats!

  • Thats a real future Queen and Princess, sorry Kate but you really are the girl next door.

  • @sidelock123 Is she worth less because she is the girl next door? Look at Mary of Denmark, she is doing a great job....also a "girl next door"We are a good as they are and we deserve entry into their "noble world" Who do they think they are? Its good for the Windsors to get some fresh and healthy blood into their ugly brood....maybe they get a few members which faces dont make me puke...they are all ugly...kate is pretty. She will deliver cute babies....no Charles-look-alikes.

  • Very similar to Prince William and Kate Midletons engagement announcement. best of luck to them both

  • @SuperSue1983 and this time its a real romance and they have known each other for 8 years

  • In This Clip, From 0:38 To 1:09, It Was ITN-TV's ITN News At 5:45 Video Open From Tuesday Evening, February 24, 1981.

  • Where is the part where the reporters asks Diana I suppose in Love ? And Diana responds Of Course.Whatever Love Means says Prince Charles

  • Comment removed

  • @WDI2008 check out charles and diana interview before wedding

  • Diana was so young here, and so in love (without reason, as we all know now, because her prince never loved her), and this young, inexperienced, trusting and hopeful girl had no idea what she was getting herself into. Fast forward some years, and Diana had transformed herself into a force, a voice for those who needed a voice, and a tireless champion for victims rights. Thank you, Diana, for your loving heart. We have not forgotten. RIP.

  • Watch them, they don't even know each other.

  • liar

  • Carol barns you nasty aggressive journalist.

  • omg did he say it was a gradual business??? gradually???? business??? hmmmmm

  • @abbyfrog 'business' is just posh english, still he is such a coldfish

  • "absolutely delighted"

    Love the posh English!

  • Stood up well to the press indeed. The press would hond her for the rest of her life and even kill her

  • imagine if she decided to stay over in 1997 and the crash on the freeway never happaned how would things be different

  • Diana always had a great face, but her body was average and her legs especially were bony.

  • I wish I could go back to this particular time in history. The excitement of a Royal Wedding in the summer I would have loved to have seen again, and I felt like that when it was the Queen's Golden Jubilee in 2002.

I often think of this time as a bridge between the 1970s and 1980s where the things that looked 1970s were out of date and things that looked 1980s were too modern for that time!

  • @GeorgeASFTHM : Now you're going to be able to witness William and Kate Wedding. I am so excited! Can't wait to see the wedding.

  • @GeorgeASFTHM now you get your chance in 2 days time :)

  • @MICKYMAVYT Yes I know and I can't wait! :D

  • Earl Spencer was recovering from a stroke, hence the unsteady gait and sightly slurred speech.

  • everyone thought Earl Spencer was drunk

  • @nasilemak2008 Nope, he had a stroke and had trouble walking Diana down the aisle at the wedding cuz he hadn't completely recovered.

  • @freespirit875z I agree with you! Why is it people assume he was drunk?

  • @nasilemak2008 Offensive and ignorant remark. Typical of you-tube comment-posters.

  • He'd had a stroke......it affected his speech.

  • @nasilemak2008 i believe you are right.

  • @nasilemak2008 LOL!!!!!!!! I can see why they said that. He does seem a bit tipsy.

  • @bettescorpio For Gods sake! Earl Spencer had suffered a very bad stroke not long before the wedding. He was lucky to be alive and walk his beautiful daughter down the isle.

    Such ignorant comments!
